As I understand it, the 4 new trax were recorded specially for “The *** Hits” during this year. The extra trax were recorded earlier for previous albums. Per commented about the SIMC sound of the up-tempos, so it seems they are ready.

hahaha, If they are registered, they ARE also recorded!And by the way, per said in an interview the songs were more in SIMC style, so they have to be recorded, otherwise you get the same situation as with stars, because it was first meant to be a heavy guitar riff track, but it turned out to be a dance-track.....

to register songs does not mean, that they are already recorded in their final version! they are just written or the demo is done.

I think joyrider is right, to register a song you just need to write it down or to record a demo and have the lyrics in a paper, send it to your national “copyright institution” and wait (and pay some € as well). So you don’t really need to have the final version recorded.
Otherwise you could never send demos to the record companies, because if the song is not copyrighted they could steal it as no one is the owner of it yet. And that man that sued Per Gessle about the “Sleeping in my car”/”Jennie and I” thing would never have had his right to ask for money for his chorus stolen.

Maybe the songs are not completed, or at least not everything is completed. Is your question answered?

The extrat trax for the ballad hits were also recorded before/around the RS time.
