I don’t think green and red are opposite. In certains shades of both colours I cannot make a clear difference between them, and there are lots of colour-blind people that can’t make it at all! :P

Ok, maybe they are opposite, but there are lots of people who can not make a difference, I just say that.
1 in 10 men (because women can’t suffer this) are at least partly colour blind. Colour-blindness is a genetic disease that cannot be treated... didn’t you know that?

@joyrider: green ist not really the “opposite” of red - what you meant is the ’complementary color’ (in german: Komplementärfarbe). Green is the complementary color of red that’s right :)
And I ever thought the other complementary colors are blue-orange and yellow-purple/violet - Right now, I’m not sure about it anymore, but my Art-teacher teached it this way ;)

Just to say that GREEN is the oposite for MAGENTA (a kind of pink), as well as RED for the light BLUE (Cian) and Yellow is to the dark blue.
That’s in primary child books!

hey it is just a feeling... but coffee is black *g* - milk is white (= opposite), rasberrys are red - peas are green (= opposite)... maybe i am [not] totally wrong ... but what do you expect?
