Greatest Roxette Memory

When the Greatest Hits (dont bore us) came out and the single June Afternoon was released, my sister and I always listened to a Radio Show, the Top 20 Delta Radio Songs. Delta Radio is a Northern Germany Radio Station with quite a few listeners. You could cast your vote by phoneing in for the Song yo would like to get higher positions, each week they would have three new releases as well. The week when June Afternoon was released in that Radio Show, the Guy doing the Show said something like, that they are looking forward to receive a few hundret calls again to vote for their songs.... so I thought, if only a few hundret people phone up each week, I could make a difference if I would phone the Station LOTS os times putting on different voices and accents... My sister helped me with it and we phoned like 60 times for June Afternoon... next week we listened to the Show again...we thought Roxette would be a new entry at around 15 or so. When we got listening into the top10, I kinda new, June Afternoon didn’t make it at all, but as always, I listened to all the end of the show and June Afternoon actually was a new entry at number 1!!!! I screamed and cheered like a Nut Case! I was so happy! I just couldn’t believe it! Because all the other ROxette songs which were much better previous to June... never even made it into their top10! I was so excited that I was able to make a difference myself! I thought, if I can bring them to the Number one, people would think, that this actually is quiote a good song and maybe people would think, “Oh yeah, I remember Roxette, they must be famous again, being Number one here...” i thought, maybe people would feel more excited about being a fan deep down inside hearing that on the radio and the deep down inside Fans would stand up for Roxette again...
somehow this was the best rox experience ever, even though it didn’t have to do anything directly with Per or marie....
what is your gratest Roxette Memory?

How Funny, I wrote an rather angry email to this one German new Web Page called www.web.de and I said to them how ignorant I thought they were not to show any respect to Marie by not even mentioning her article... minutes later it was on the front page for more than 24 hours! Maybe it was not just because of me, but some oher fans sure did the same thing....

I think that they did it because we asked it....Apparently since we re not in Sweden and Roxette arent that hot, those stupid ppl at the music channels-sites tend to pay attention to the artists that sell...but i think it was really offensive not to write a piece of news such as maries accident...
my music channel now is full of american black music rnb hip hop rap etc that i deslike and most of the artists are like “one hit” wonders...i cant stand them given the whole attention and not roxette...and i wont allow it!

I feel the exact same way! You should have seen my email to that Web Editor, I was telling him off, for pubslishing every little thing about Kylie for example, but not showing any respect to Marie Fredricksson, even though this is some life changing major, if not the biggest news of her life...

My greatest Roxette memory?: being able to go to Barcelona’s showcase, last year. A friend of mine won two tickets in a radio station and he invited me to go with him. It was a magical night: I’ll remember it forever! It was something we’d been waiting for a long, long time. It was my first Roxette concert, so it’s something I’ll always carry with me.
Love you, Per! Love you, Marie! Thanx for loads of magical and special moment! :-***

Well, this story begins in a dream I had many years ago, I was just being with my girlfriend and I dreamed our first time, I dreamed we were making love with “You don’t understand me”.
When we were ready to make it, we decided to wait to the new year’s eve 1999-2000 and spend that night in a hotel, that was a good idea, but I realized I couldn’t make my dream come true and make love with a Roxette ballad sounding.
That day came, and I can say, that was not a good fist time, quite bad I would say, well... really horrible, anyway....
Some days later my parents went as usual to the house of the beach letting me my home that weekend empty.
I can say that, that second time was more than exellent, the Roxette’s greatest hits was being played, be began with “You don’t understand me” and we ended with “Listen to your heart” my favorite Roxette ballad.
Now, I can say that my fist time was not in new years eve, but that day, first because was one of the best times we spend together and second because it made my dream came true.

i wouldnt call it greatest memory cause its a bit sad but its a good thing that i did for Roxette...our music tv channel didnt say anything about maries illness and their was nothing on their website...so one morning i sent them a rather angry email telling them the news and calling them ignorant :P
after a few minutes the news about marie were on their site and they had it also on tv on their NEWS show...
another thing i did was last summer when i was a dj at a small club i used to play Roxette as much as i could ;)
