In todays Aftonbladet, there is an article about swedish composer Ulf Lundell. The article talks about an hearing disease called tinnitus, which causes you to hear different tones at times. you will experiences trouble hearing what people are saying in noisy environments for example.
The ending of the article is interesting. it sais that, among other celebrities, Per Gessle has tinnitus. is this true? did anyone know about this?
the article is available at http://www.aftonbladet.se/vss/noje/story/0,2789,208601,00.html

Tinnitus isn´t that bad. You can live with it. But sometimes it can goes on the nerv. Very extremly. I know what I say. I have the same :o(

I have heard it many times already.
Lots of musicians have this kind of problems because it is VERY LOUDLY on the stage .

Isn´t it a wonder? :o)
Can anyone translate the article in english?

I don’t have the time to translate it, but to sum up most important things:
It says in the article that he doesn’t make a big deal of it ( only watches out so that it did not get any worse) It is damn typical, he says as he did not get it on stage or working in a studio as a musician but it happened 2 years ago when he saw ACDC in Globen :))
He doesn’t suffer much, it is just that he can’t sit in pubs anymore as then he doesn’t hear what people say.

in rehearsal rooms is where you get it badly...
they’re using ear plugs...... anyway...now

My dad is a professional musician and he had tinnitus a few years ago. It’s mostly caused by loud music and headphones. Most musicians have it and it almost drives you nuts. Cause you are always hearing noises!

I guess that would explain, that Per doesn’t sing that well anyway...

well sometimes Per is .. shouting and he is having sooo much fun and is so happy and touched by the response of the audience that he shouts a bit out of tune ;)
But that´s nice I think - he is human

Of course I like Pers voice, I wish I could sing the way he does, but I think, in some songs he sounds a bit too corny... sometimes eeing him on stage or seeing him in videos etc. seomtimes I feel like: “Oh Boy, that is too much of wobbling around... sometimes he moves in this weird way... I still like him, but he is just a bit too much for me at times, BUT MARIE, MARIE IS JUST PERFECT!!! :-)

Poor he if he has tinnitus.. (I had it for only one day and it made me mad!!!)...I only heard (and made the experience) that his sence of hearing got a bit damaged on one side. .....When I speak to him the first thing normally is : WHAT??? as a reply...>:) Well..can also be that I’m too silent and shy !
