For converting multiple files I usually use Easy CD-DA File converter (part of the best CD grabber - Easy CD-DA Extractor) - www.poikosoft.com
When I deal with a single file or with two-three files and perhaps some sound corretion is needed (denoising, normalising, etc) I use soundforge - it is really great. www.soundforge.com
Bith programs can convert to/from all formats.

On the site www.wma-mp3.com you can also find (demo) programs to rename audio files, I’ve been using this one, and it’s also quite easy to use.
Good luck

I can recommend dbPoweramp! It’s pretty easy to use - simply right-click on the file you want to convert and chose the format you want - and you can convert to and from basically every format you can think of... from mp3 to wave, rm, ogg vorbis, wma and many more!
For some strange reason the site itself doesn’t work for me right now, but the link to the program’s http://www.dbpoweramp.com/bin/dMC-r9.exe - you can download the codec(s) here: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/codec-central.htm
http://168.144.84.23/illustrate/dBpowerAMP-codec-wmav8.exe is the wma codec and if you need a mp3 codec, I’d use Lame which you can get e.g. from here: http://www.traex.org/files/lame-3.92.zip
