not powerful ballad

ATAY: it’s not a powerful ballad and i think it’s doesn’t have varying.
sorry, but don’t will be a hit. it’s very similar to “It takes you no time to get here” (RS),boring.
Per: where your creativity is? you are being left without power!!

I’ve said twice before it’s simillar to “It takes you no time to get here” :-P
But I think it’s good... I liked also that other song.

i think it’s a great song. at the beginning i thought “what’s that...” but after a few times of listenings to it i must say: thumbs up to P&M! well done!
spookymeg said on September 9, 2002 19:51:
i like it!! maybe it isn’t exactly what i expected, but i like it anyway... :) it’s a fine ballad.

I guess I’m not too sure what you guys mean by power... a very quiet song can be powerful if it stirs something in you, like Sarah McLachlan’s “Angel,” for example, or the acoustic version of “Listen To Your Heart”... to me, these are very powerful songs. If you mean that the song doesn’t have a tonne of guitars in it, so what? Roxette haven’t done that since 1993 with “Almost Unreal” and Per said they’d never go back to that “Bon Jovi” style of power ballad (his words, not mine!), they’re much bigger on strings now than on guitars...
PerAndren said on September 9, 2002 20:34:
Well, I have to say it is the best roxetteballad since Wish I Could Fly.....
xarrrr said on September 9, 2002 20:54:
it may not be what we would call powerfull, but its got great lyrics, sung with meaning and emotion (i think) and great music. sung by two of the musicians in the world... very powerful song!!! if it provokes an emotion then its power has been shown
*oh blast, xarrrr’s art hat is on!* soz peeps! ehehe!
LoneGunman said on September 9, 2002 20:59:
It’s a BRILHANT song... it’s sweet, honest, pure... oh boy, it’s PERfect !!!
I really loved the idea of doing an acoustic ballad instead of a power one... I mean, after so many years, anoter power ballad as first single would be a little boring (Remember how everyone got surprised when discovered that Per was going to sing “ATAY”?) .
I don’t care if it’s going to be a hit or not, what really matters is that the song is GREAT !!!!
Heart_2002 said on September 9, 2002 21:07:
who cares if it’s going to be a hit or not....????????
It’s a fantastic ballad .....
It does not need to be like a powerful SMT ...leave that for Celine Dion....and let’s have more consideration for Roxette’s ballads they are unique....
Only Roxfans addicted to “power rock stuff” can not appreciate this...it’s their problem.... not mine nor anyone else who loves this one like me.....
We should be more flexible musicallywise and be able to apreciatte various music styles and kinds of music and not alwayd sticking to formats....format are a result of our imagination as far as i believe
Ferdan said on September 9, 2002 21:13:
the 2 first sentences of your post Heart is ok
the rest crap!!!
Of course the song will never be like you were imagining when Per described it...... that’s imposible.
——————-
ok..... it lacks of power(?) ok, but it’s full of emotion and honesty.... that’s something Roxette was lacking of in a long time....
Heart_2002 said on September 9, 2002 21:16:
Ferdan : explain yourself better ...the rest is crap why taking in notion that it is MY OPINION in case you know what a OPINION is......

When i talked about POWER ROCK FANS i wasn’t even thinking about you...i have more to think of than that ....:((((
But it’s good to know that you are finally pleased with the new song.... it was about time
And finally STOP following me everytime you see a post writte by me.... that’s irritating you seem to love going against me all the time...andi said IT SEEMS...not IT IS....just to avoid any argue
Heart_2002 said on September 9, 2002 21:25:
You do not always know how to express respect and for that reason you end up being missunderstood.... keep your “ilusionary” format believe for yourself cause you should be more musically open minded to stick music into formats if you call yourself a true music lover....people are free to express themselves musically the way they want....in the end if you like it fine if not....carry on living it should not mean anyting to you...
Ferdan said on September 9, 2002 22:10:
you can’t imagine how open musically i am..
and well.... a “power rock addict”... can’t simply be a Roxfan since a start... cos the rock part of roxette is the best (talking about uptempos)... but not the most ...
and i just wanna drive you mad

Hey, stop asking for more. I think ATAY is very good, and i believe this is the kind of tune that’ll make the malaysian people whistling when they hear it. It’s beautiful. Though the verses sounded like PARIS-I DO BELIEVE but to be honest pER HAS DONE A BRILLIANT JOB
rox02 said on September 10, 2002 01:03:
I am very angry. Do they think that I will buy any cheap music that they do? We are not cheap. They won’t be neither top 40. no sales. they will see it. ATAY cheap lyrics and boring music. typical song from somebody that doesn’t have ideas.
they are boring.AND THEY BORE US. I’m sorry, but I won’t buy these cd.
I hope I’m the only one that thinks this way.
Smurfie said on September 10, 2002 06:03:
It’s a great song!!!
@rox02: How do you know that no one will like the the song, just because you don’t? And I hope you don’t include me when you say ’AND THEY BORE US’...they don’t bore me and I think this is their best ballad i a long time.
I just don’t think that you know what all rox fans thinks...at least I can’t...
But if you dislike this new single, then that’s ok with me, I don’t like all roxsongs either.

We can’t all agree on everything.....so don’t shoot the ppls down in flames who don’t like it just coz its not your opinion.
Can I ask just out of intrest .......rox02 how many times have you listened to the song??? are you basing your thoughts on just 1 or 2 listens?? coz I thought the same as you when I heard it first but then I had it on repeat last night (mainly coz I was trying to work out the lyrix) and I had a change of mind.....it may not be massive worldwide hit material (and please ppls don’t flame me for saying that) but I love it :)
Ferdan said on September 10, 2002 09:08:
and again...... rox02 if you want top40 songs go a listen to backstreet boys (?) or any boyband.
Or do like Markuz..... he doesn’t like the song cos he thinks it’s not good..... and not cos it is not top40 material.

Great lyrics with a bit not good chorus , but very emotional, I like it .The best of the song is the whole feeling that remains
TDaniel said on September 10, 2002 09:51:
Last night I downloaded the song from the Web and played it on my PC. Just when I thought, “Heck, is that A thing about you for real? That is dissapointing!” My mother in law said just after I those thoughts: “Now that is a really good Roxette Song...” Later on I played it to my wife and she said: “Oh, I like this one...” My mother in law even started to sing the chorus after listening to the song like two times... funny, my fam love the song, after listening to it like 10 times I like it a lot now as well.
Maybe we the Roxette Fans like other ROx stuff better, but other people, non roxers love this song, coz it is not like that typical Roxette.
tinytim said on September 10, 2002 16:02:
Powerful ballads are part of the music scenario from the early 90’s...you’ll hardly listen to songs like Europe’s ’Carrie’, Century’s ’Lover why’ (this one would fit lot more with Per’s voice), ’coz they’re piece of arts drove to a generation that really appreciated it. These kind of ideas are worn out.
Besides, don’t forget that Per admitted that the Ballads compilation DID NOT CONTAIN the hits. The Power Peas has. Hmmm...honestly...I don’t want to look nasty...but I made in my comments the mention that ATAY would sound like ITYNTTGH. I think that Per and Marie found the sharp point of their intentions to ballads.
The best part is kept for Breathe and the beats compilation...just wait...
Just tell me then, folks: how many time ago a chorus sang by P&M thrilled you? In RS no one did. BUt the whole way ATAY is sang made my hairs look like thorns...I want to listen again again and again, for pleasure, not for obligation of a fan that wants to analyze the song just to notice how big is going to be my deception with the new album, like happened with RS...AM I RIGHT OR NOT?????

Maybe the power is not the most important thing in this song...
SirMikeAlot said on September 11, 2002 12:05:
for what it’s worth i think the song is good, but i liked it better when i first got the full version, anyway, it sure beats the hell out of all the commercial pop songs out there today... and for that i’m greatfull
roxtexanet said on September 11, 2002 12:28:
@Markuz: Well, yes, of course there’s you, but that goes without saying.
LittleGirl78 said on September 11, 2002 12:37:
I find this a very cool song, I listen this song since Monday nonstop, and this was everyday better.
This a very great power-ballad with a good melody.
This a Top30-Hit, I´m sure.
Jackeill said on September 9, 2002 19:01:
that’s truth there is no power but it doesn’t mean that the song is not good!!! remember that power is not everything!
