MTV Europe becoming too "Americanized"?

Would you agree that MTV in Europe has become to much “americanized” airplaying too much Hip Hop too much American Rock (only a few bands are good) too muccccchhh crapy american Pop that seels millions in only a week? Too much RnB although there are also some nice and talented singers on this genre?
What the hell is going on with MTV? Are we going to have just MTV USA one day... do we have to subdue to the american music scene as if this one was the only one everyone should listen to?
At least one thing is good some European Acts still have some place in it ....most of them come from the UK Pop Scene that’s right and others come from the European Dance genre! Roxette are still there ...at least the first single of every album comes up....but we feel that MTV Europe don’t care about a 16 year old carrear of such a great band as Roxette...they are goog we all know that but .....
MTV presentors show too much their personal views on music.... to the point of making fun...no one is taken seriously.... there’s no balance between giving crediblity to a musician and laughing or joking at something but without being to offensive ....
VH-1 is a very old channel is made for people who love TRUE MUSIC from all time to now....they show everything .... from the 50’s to the very current releases and Roxette are on their list fortunantely..
VIVA Germany is also very balanced on Music shows everything of all genres without giving too much emphasis to one thing or the other...they play MUSIC no matter what no matter who....
MTV is becoming terrible year after year.....no wonder Roxette’s music isn’t successful as before...they just play what’s new and hot at the moment....who cares about old stuff? that’s what they think....anyway as long as Roxette keep doing music i won’t give a f@@k about MTV...i just want their videos, i record them and that’s it .....
In Portugal channel SOL Musica shows everything like VIVA and even gives us intervews, concerts and specials shows about all the new coming releases and artists.... both HAND and RS had the chanced to be a reason for a Roxette special.....

WOW the only thing that MTVe likes to play the most is all kinds of Alternative Rock music .... that’s what they like really....they just show pop crap bacuse it’s the hottest in the moment and there are lots of people who like that ....(a way og having lots of audience share)
If only they coud show some DECENT POP MUSIC with QUALITY

I agree.MTV is pure crap! Not only beacuse they dont play Roxette... everything about that channel sucks. And on EMA last year... I was so angry because they had Jayzee performing...and not an european pop band like Roxette.I mean... Roxette is still much more popular than someone like Jayzee here in Europe. He belongs to MTV USA ( another crap channel...). I wish I had Viva...

The thing is that mtv show what people want..and now its what people want..if there was more people that wanted Rock song it would show it...but who listen to music chanel are the one that want pop stuff..i think what we love to see in a clip is what is popular now and what is behind is becoming rare...Roxette doesn’t fit at all in the music context today...like it was ten years ago...Mtv want public..Mtv show what the public want...ASK FOR ROCK...THEY will show it...

God, do we really need to see horrible American crap 24 hours a day?! Acts like Will Smith, Missy Elliot etc are making me nuts. I hate that music!
There is a lot of good music coming from European countries and never get a chance as MTV is not playing them.
Instead they are playing American trash as The Osbornes all the time.
If you don´t get your video on MTV play you are end.

You’re very right. There’s definately something wrong with MTV. I quit watching MTV in ’98. MTV became too hip, too crazy and too disordered. I don’t like that channel anymore.
