Last weekend the creators of “Join the flumride” visited our Rox-fanmeeting in Halmstad. They told us that they would like to release the movie on DVD, and that it probably also would contain a short “making of Join the flum...”, and subtitles.
What they need to know before doing this is that there is people interested of buying it.
So, are you interested?
coyboyusa said on August 21, 2002 15:20:

Sascha said on August 21, 2002 16:57:
Yes! If it wasn’t too expensive. Is it in swedish language? Then it should have english subtitles at least. I’d buy it.
kibkalo said on August 21, 2002 17:21:

I can’t say for all of us, but here in Russia fans really want this DVD!
japeke said on August 21, 2002 17:28:

Some months ago, there was already such a topic but not too many people seemed to be interested. :(
Well, I still AM interested and I know at least 5 more people! Please include English subtitles.
This film is sooooo fun!!!! :))) And the soundtrack so great!! Please issue a CD with the soundtrack songs as well!

Hi people! I was actually the one that had this poll if people was interested in buying the Flumeride on DVD. I also posted the question on the RML where people could write a “yes” to [email protected]. But the interest was THIN! I think I all in all got around 25-30 people who said they were willing to pay for it. So not really any use to make a DVD. That would just cost too much! So my intention has been to phone back to the director (Tobias) and tell him that almost noone wants it... or at least don´t want to pay for it.
Susi said on August 21, 2002 18:37:
Yep, the interest didn’t seem to be very big back then... Maybe better luck now?!
Well, I would buy one, of course!! :-)))
Denstandigaresan said on August 21, 2002 18:58:
Oh that is funny! :D Especially Pers Guest appearance!
And the Stalker bloke... the message scrolling on his PC etc! LOL!
LittleGirl78 said on August 21, 2002 19:51:
Yes the idea was great, i bekome the movie from a person from Denmark on Video and in swedish of course.
Would they make a english caption, or better a german caption on the DVD?
Why in swedish get it I the movie on Video, but I don´t understand swedish, with caption was this a very great idea.
ulrikalanner said on August 21, 2002 20:00:
It will of course contain english subtitles and also some more songs (new ones) that you can´t find on the video.
kibkalo said on August 21, 2002 20:23:
Then again - definitely YES!
I know 6 other persons in Moscow who will buy it.
LittleGirl78 said on August 21, 2002 20:27:
In Germany many people buy it, too.
You must do this.
But one question, come this DVD than out in all countries? So that I can buy it?
AntiMario said on August 22, 2002 05:26:

Bibi said on August 22, 2002 08:03:
NO because this movie is the most ridiculous and stupid thing I have ever seen!!!
tevensso (moderator) said on August 22, 2002 08:10:
Only Germans don’t like Flumeride, gee I wonder why? :)
Nefatari said on August 22, 2002 08:11:
Tell them, to release it! I’m gonna by that DVD ... if I can find it somewhere in a shop! :)
gyllene_tjej said on August 22, 2002 08:28:

ulrikalanner said on August 22, 2002 19:28:

roxgirl_germany said on August 22, 2002 19:30:
There ARE Germans who really ADORE this film!!!! I am one of them. :)))
LittleGirl78 said on August 22, 2002 19:30:
@tevenso: What????? I´m a german people and I like the move, and all german people in our german forum like the movie. Why you think we german people don´t like the move. This a mistake.
tevensso (moderator) said on August 22, 2002 20:03:
I was just kidding, there was one German here who hated it...
Bibi said on August 22, 2002 21:04:
Well I don’t represent all Germans of course, I can only speak for myself...! And all I can say (again) is that I wouldn’t waste my money for such a crappy movie which is in my opinion absolutely non-sense! I have seen it one time and that was enough. I can’t laugh about it, I have better things to do than wasting my time with such a stupid movie. But of course no one prevends you from buying this DVD...!!!
@ Gyllene-tjej: Hej hej, haven’t heard from you for ages...!!!
Lars-Erik_Olson (moderator) said on August 22, 2002 21:47:
My suggestion... if you want to pass it on the the director/producer... is that since, these days, it’s not that expensive to produce a DVD... that they should go ahead and do so. What IS expensive, is distribution. There is only a niche market that would be interested in purchasing this DVD: certain Swedes who are not necessarily active fans, and Roxers worldwide. So, rather than add to the cost of the DVD by trying to get it into stores outside of Sweden... the best plan would be to Direct Market it via the Web.... or to point people to Skivhugget’s website (if they were to stock it). The NL ’Fanshop’ seems to always be looking for something to sell also.
Starrox said on August 22, 2002 22:08:
Gotta agree with you here, LEO! It has worked before, so why shouldn’t it work this time? Might be an option for the Unplugged-DVD, too, I think...
Maybe some of you remember the TV series “My so-called life” with Claire Danes and Jared Leto... there was a DVD with the first few episodes released once, but the rest of the season’s still unreleased since the first DVd didn’t sell too good. So people were of course eager to get the remaining episodes and therefore started a campaign - and were pretty successful: BMG (?) is now making a limited number of box sets based on the number of people who expressed their wish to buy the set prior to its release via an online-store :-)
japeke said on August 22, 2002 23:22:
Why not release it as an extra on the next Roxette DVD, with for example a live concer, the Unplugged session or something else in very good quality, and Flumeride, with english subtitles as an extra, in normal quality, just like the all the videos ever made......

ditroia said on August 23, 2002 04:52:
HI I’ll buy it if it has English subtitles and good video and sound quality.

AntiMario said on August 23, 2002 05:27:
@littlegirl: maybe Germans “like” this movie (as you say not counting Bibi) because they don’t get a word from it? ;)
P.S. Their happiness.
gyllene_tjej said on August 23, 2002 08:31:
I think Bibi doesn’t mean Germans in the film, she doesn’t like the way Marie is shown in a movie ( and she is a Marie fan). I also know many Germans who love it, I love the film as well, you gotta understand the irony in it :)
and even MORE I would like to get a CD soundtrack, the songs just kill!! Will they think of that too, or is it just DVD that is in their plans?
lonely_girl said on August 23, 2002 08:44:
hej gyllene_tjej great, we’re around at the same time (almost)
Flumride? I just remember becoming very very wet...
I suppose I also need a dvd-player...
ulrikalanner said on August 23, 2002 08:53:
Don´t know if there would be a CD also.. I will try to find out!
Bibi said on August 23, 2002 13:51:
Hi Gyllene Tjej! You are right, this is ONE of the reasons why I dislike the movie. I think they present Marie as if she was a person without brain!
Jud (moderator) said on August 23, 2002 14:47:
i have never seen it, is there any site that talks about it? i have just heard about it.. what about Marie? what about the Germans? i wanna know! :)
Bibi said on August 23, 2002 14:54:
Well it’s a parody on Roxette and also on the German FC which doesn’t exist anymore. Both MF and the guys from the FC are not presented in a very nice way if you ask me...! They look like fools! And “MF” looks like a fool as well. I don’t like that at all.
Jud (moderator) said on August 23, 2002 15:59:
well, you said it, it´s a parody.. parodies are that :)
ulrikalanner said on August 24, 2002 09:58:
Bibi, don´t you think the part about “Gula Tidningen” is funny either? I loved that it!
ulrikalanner said on August 24, 2002 10:00:
Loved that it???
Sometimes it seems like me and my brain are on different planets...
mdekort said on August 25, 2002 11:17:
I’m also interested in the DVD. I’ve seen it only once, but still looking for it, since then. It would be a great extension for my Rox collection.
little_girl said on August 26, 2002 20:11:
Jag är intresserad! Men det är väl inte så svårt att räkna ut. Köper den i vilket format den än kommer ut på... men helst vill jag ju såklart ha med de där extragrejjerna Tobias pratade om. Juh.
