Strange Stockholm Records CD release (non-ROX)

OK, here’s a weird one for you. I just found the new A-Teens CD “Pop ’til you drop” at a local record store. It says Stockholm Records 2002 / MCA Records 2002. Why is this shocking you ask? Well, as far as I can tell, this CD hasn’t even been released in their home country of Sweden yet. In a way, this totally pisses me off. With all the crap that we have to go through with Rox in the USA,and now the freakin A-teens get a CD released here before their own country? This totally puts me back to square 1 when it comes to understanding the record industry!

wasn’t ateens signed to a distribution deal with walt disney recordings subsidiary...that would explain the release since they are on the disney channel alot. There are two simple facts that hold roxette back from a usa deal.
!.) they are basing their success on songs that charted almost 10 yrs ago
2.) per is a control freak and won’t allow us record labels to handle them in a way he feels is inappropriate and since they have families the low key direction their career has taken suits them
so those are the facts

No, this is definately NOT a bootleg, no doubt about that!
Also, you calling Per a “control freak” has a negative connotation, when I believe nothing could be further from the truth. The fact is, Roxette & more specifically Per is one of the most succesful song writers of all time. So if a freakin record company wants to control too many aspects of his music, don’t you think he’s earned the right to tell them to go fuck off? I certainly think he’s earned this, at the very least! The only difference between Per and other artists is that he has enough integrity to want to keep control of his wonderful creations. Hell, look at the hoops even Ace of Base has had to jump through to get released in the US (re-writing songs, etc), and then they still get screwed in the end anyway. That’s gotta be a really bad feeling. More power to Per for standing up and saying HELL NO to those bastards at the various record companies. Sure, I’d like Rox to make a US comeback like everyone else, but not at the price of Per bending over for those SOB’s!
enough said?

The CD has already been released in the US, and I guess the one you have found is and imported CD, it will be released in Sweden later this year.

Or is it maybe a bootleg CD?
