an education on homosexuality
coyboyusa said on June 27, 2002 20:06:
Ok , since obviously there are two polarized sides here in this forum as there is in the world on this topic I think that some topics need to be broached and cleared up. SO here I go.
1.) what is homosexuality: contrary to the main stream beliefer homosexuality is more than who you care to have sex with. homosexuality is indeed identical to heterosexuality minus the natural inclination to reprodouce..which in no way devalues a homosexuals importance in society at all. Being gay myself i can understand both sides views...I consider myself a gay homophobe which i will go into later
2.) is it a choice: this depends on many circumstances. sexuality is a broad scale of behavious ranging from the 100%
coyboyusa said on June 27, 2002 20:21:
4.) are all gays flamey and out: this is a big contradiction. again there is a braod spectrum of gayness. some are macho, some are efreminate. some like art some like weight lifting. we are all human. some persue relationships while others are promiscuous just like the str8 people. being out for many if extrewmely dangerous. man muslim countries consider homosexuality a crime against god and punisable by death. even in areas such as america where freedom is about...we fear retrobution.. i have been the victim of anti gay violence. i have a boyfriend, i own a house...yet somehow in many eyes i am not normal.
5.) do gay parents make their kids gay. no. there have been studies of gay families where siblings have not become homosexual regardless of their parents sexuality.
6.) do all gays like each other: another resounding no.. personally i am a homophobe. there is alot of things in the gay community i do not agree with and wish would change....much the way other nationalities and sexualorientations disagree with things in their communities. that is what makes us human..enay more questions ask me

I don’t think people CHOOSE to be gay dear, its more of how you feel and what turns you on. like Darren Hayes says in Affirmation: ” I believe you can’t control or choose your sexuality,” plus the most beautiful thing about a person is they’re heart and soul. More power to you tho for taking such a great stand and creating a good distinction.

great... now we’re quoting the Per Gessle wannabe (DH) in a Roxette forum... what’s next?
No offense baby, I couldn’t resist that one:)
ROXIEBABY16 said on June 28, 2002 16:03:
@Perfan, none taken, but it still has some weight in the arguement. Because its true. if you aren’t going to listen to what is said because you don’t like another person, you may miss out on a lot:)

How many Gay topics do we need at TDR? That’s absolute off-topic.
ROXIEBABY16 said on June 30, 2002 23:27:
we can say what we like, and besides, if you don’t wanna know this don’t come into this topic:0) simple as that. but unfortunately people are curious and then get outraged at what they’ve seen. However we do have way too many gay topics here, because some people are ignorant and the ones who aren’t are trying to inform.

Roxiebaby: It’s not that. It’s just why post it here? Why not find a more... appropriate place for it? There are many forums on the internet that can answer questions that are more informative. Plus, if you want, they can send you information. I don’t care really one way or the other. I’m just tryin to save the site moderators some heartburn in the long run.
There is always someone in the world who will always find this offensive and will petition to shut down the site to prevent the “corrupstion of minors”. It’s that simple. This site doesn’t have a “content rating” on here. It shouldn’t have to.
You wanna see TDR vanish? Go for it. Keep it up and TDR will be taken down. That’s my concern.

3 out of 10? Woah. Never knew it was that high. That’s quite impressive! What is the source for this? I have always read like 1 out of 10 people are homosexual. Even so, it’s amazing how some people still regard it as a “choice.”
Mfan28179-Jason said on July 4, 2002 03:31:
LOL. I don’t believe you did Coyboyusa. That’s why I thought it was strange they were pointing that out.

*Sighs* True spooks, but this topic has been around for ages, if they didn’t take it down then why would they do it now? Anyways, i think that the opinions have been stated so why can’t we all just get along? If you wanna be ignorant to the topic then be ignorant, maybe your better off being that way, if you wanna be a good person and acknowledge and accept it then props to ya.
Peace Love and Light to all.

... I don’t believe that people are born gay! do you? I believe that something which happens in life (say... depression... or bulling) can alter your views on your sexual appitite.
When I was 8 I was straight, but then I went through this depression when I was 13, by the time I was 16 I found that I was quite attracted to men... I had major issues with this and I still do. I hate the fact that one day I will turn out to be one of them gay people who have that horrible sounding voice and do that whole ’shaky’ thing with their hands. I loath the day that that will happen...
That whole thing that I said about something changing your sexuality... THAT’S TRUE! I seen it on the discovery channel one day, just last weekend as it happens, and they actually discovered that in the genes of the human body. Of course this will not happen to everyone who becomes bullied but the majority become gay...
I think I know how - if you’re a boy, getting bullied by another boy you end up getting sexually attracted to that person because you see him as if he was “above” you. Then, due to that experience, that alters into every man you see so that ends up in your sexuality reversing...
I’m a homophobe myself, I can’t stand gay people, I never want to be in a relationship with another gay person, I don’t want to be viewed as a gay person... In the words of Bjork: SOD OFF!!!
Small-talker said on July 15, 2002 18:47:
CowboyUSA never said homosexuality was a choice - he said that the church thought it was a choice
3 out of 10? I WISH!!!!! If that was the case, then the people who are gay wouldn’t feel nearly as discriminated... try about 1 out of 25! - that’s about right...
People have been, always will be ignorant towards everything!!! Don’t even try to fight it!

A gay guy who is a homophobe? Lemme think...so was my boyfriend...it’s normal.....gay guys who are lonely, who have NO gay friends are normally like that. And it IS 3 out of 10 - I didnt say they’re out of the closet gays - if that was the case 5 out of 10 guys wouldve been gay. Im tired of this discussion now. And I bet every1 else is. Strange that you quote Björk - she’s NOT a homophobe. The only thing I have to say to every single gay, straight, bi, transg/v/s & A-sexual person out there is: Live Your Life Be Free (Belinda Carlisle). Good nite......

heterosexual to the 100% gay. in between are bi sexuals, transexuals, pedophiles and many others. homosexual behaviour has been documented in various animal speices including primates ..our closest relatives. seein as we r subject to violent discrimination to the point of murdere ask yourself...why would we choose? there r no studies yet to 100% prove genetic disposition...and maybe thats a good thing
3.) did gays start aids: again think hard before ever thinking this.. aids began in the primate population in africa...studies now find it may have been transmitted to the human population through a dspieces of fly and then spread through both gay and str8 sex. so the answer is no
4.) can u be made to be gay/not gay: many religious sects like to make people believe they can change....but there has never ever been proof of this. I have yet to make anyone gay nor would i want to. in some cases the argument may arise to the validity of ones gayness... many children of same sex abuse persue gay relationships, sometimes children with no male influence in their lives become gay and effeminate which would support the environment over genetics issue
