i think something here needs to be cleared up...this somng is by far one of the best ballads per ever wrote on his own without matts persson...if it were an x mas single with a video with a great story line it woulda been a smash ..alot of people just drew their opion of the song from the horrible video

Salvation is a great song! And in my opinion, the video is even better than the song! I simply LOVE it! It’s sooooo perfect, it has an excellent feeling, it fits soooo great with the song, not exactly the lyrics, but the whole feeling that song has is so perfectly represented by the video. It’s shot in the beautiful Italy, so many great scenes during the video. Both Marie and Per look great (however, it’s very rare for me to say Per looking great... but that’s another story...), it’s all so calm and full of harmony. The funniest bit in it is Per moving his head while singing “some will get broken, others will get luckly like me meeting you”. It’s just great. And, of course, Marie looks just as sexy as always... and very nice.
Yea, that’s one of my favourite videos. Brilliant one.

“Salvation” is a gem! It ranks very high on my favorite Roxette songs list! It’s so beautiful, especially towards the ending with the piano and Marie singing “I found salvation...oooh yeah, you bring me salvation”
I sent the HAND album to an online friend (among other Roxette songs) and she had never heard “Salvation” before. And now it’s her favorite Roxette song ever! And now she teases me because it’s not my #1 favorite.
While we are on the topic of “Salvation,” can somebody explain to me the idea behind the video and what exactly it means? What is with Per and Marie holding fish and vegetables? I’ve tried to think about what this represents. Anybody know?
I do really love the video, by the way. There’s just something about Marie and Per holding fish and vegetables. LOL.

The video represents Anton Corbijn’s brainjoints....

It’s so werid that this Corbijn guy once made an incredibly crappy video for Stars and then could make this beautiful masterpiece for Salvation.
For me the vegetables and fish represent the harmony that’s all over there in the video. You know, they are having fun, relaxing, have time to go for a walk and stop by those stands on the streets where you can buy fresh vegetables and stuff.
Maybe there was something completely different in the director’s mind...

I might be completely wrong, but I see these vegetables and fish as religious symbols. In Christianity a fish is a symbol for Jesus, so maybe He is involved in this “Salvation”. And the fruits... maybe they will grow after “Salvation”!?

I agree that “Salvation” is one of the best Roxette-ballads ever, I don’t understand either why this song was a flop. Actually I can’t imagine that the video is responsible, in my opinion it’s not that bad... Actually I really like it.
