Laura branigan

I am a little upset (but it is my own fault!) I went on to the Luara Branigan discussion board and asked if anyone had any information about the sweet hello... which she recorded.
Some guy got back to me with information, but said that obviously that Laura Branigan version was much better than Roxette’s... :(
But, I just wanted to know if anyone else has heard the LB version, and if so, is it better than when marie sings it? I doubt it, but then I would say that, wouldn’t I! Is there somewhere I can download it?
cheers

i have the oroiginal benefit cd and i have to say its not better than roxettes version]
its bland 80’ds arrangement one of LBs worse vocals

Well, me too, I like LB’s version better. It’s not about the vocals, but it’s something I always considered the weak point of Roxette. Their songs sound to perfect, there’s rarely any surprise in a song, the perfect melody with the perfect vocals...LB’s version is not as sweet and easy..

and she had the courage to pose nude!
Marie, take off your clothes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Well, since Roxette’s is a B-Side, you can argue more than that...
Anyway it’s a roxette original so cool down...

Laura Branigan rocks! Those who are in the mid-late 20s must remember her smash hits “Gloria, The lucky one, Self-control”. And she had her own version of “The power of love” long ago b4 the queen of heartache (Celine Dion) turned it into a megahit :P
cheers

I am mid-20s (just) but I don’t remember her at all. Maybe I have towards Laura what most other people have towards Roxette....no recollection of them!
:(

@Mathew:aw poor baby! theres a greatest hits cd out..maybe if u find her site u can listen to her songs and remember
Gloria was a MEGAHIT in early 80s
SELF CONTROL is her biggest hit...even MTV plays the video still
THE LUCKY ONE is a great song also..its very Roxett-ish...that song became popular when she was a guest star at the KNIGHT RIDER series.
*cheers*

She also sang a duet with David Hasselhoff. The song’s called ” I believe”, or something like that...

I don’t know none of them sound even slightly familiar! BUT on a brighter note, aren’t ABC just one of the best 80s bands! The Look Of Love!
Also, Tears for Fears!!!
Ah, those were the good old days!
LOL!
(but obviously not as good as Roxette)

laura branigan was nit that huge. GLoria is the only song i rember by here and i am 26....she was overexposed like alot of artists and it screwed her over. Self control was ok .

As much as I like Laura Brannigan’s music, I must be honest that I prefer Roxette’s version of ’The Sweet Hello...’.

Well to be honest, I like LB’s version better too... It’s not a question of her voice vs. Marie’s, but the whole sound of the song, the instruments used and all that. It sounds more “fluent” to me somehow. Anyhow, just my opinion...
You can download it from Audiogalaxy, or if you have ICQ I can send it to you.
