How is it gonna be??

We all agree that our first reasons to appreciate Roxette in the present time it’s the fact that they are, at least, one of the last band pure-motivated in the world…or almost. They strive to don´t look exaggeratedly commercial, they don’t go for silly lyrix…they are not supported by super big entertainment/food-related companies…they’re not in USA, “the big ‘world-corruptor’”…
But if Roxette, in the next album, finally reach that “top” we all wish to them? I mean, if their moving to Capitol really result in a pump up, in a #1 in US? How will we face them if they start to appear in pics on McDonald’s huts, in Pepsi´s commercial videos, in David Letterman’s, Conan O’Brien’s (is him still alive?), Larry King’s shows? What if they simply blow in US and in every anglo-language country?? It’s some sort of alternative reality for us, living this 2002, but they had such success in the early 90’s. But now…we’re living the super-information, the super-knowledge, the super-exposition era. How would we face them if everybody – including those ones who appreciate the ‘trend-band” (we know who they are) start to like them? Wouldn’t you feel, like…a bit jealous? ‘Cause the fact that Roxette isn’t a hit maker by now, turn them in a kind of ‘exclusive choice’, made only by those ones with an oracle vision for music, with a mini-Sweden in the heart, us…like if we all had magic (and scholar) eyes. How would you feel if they exploded in US again, and turned in a fever? In Brazil, when something becomes public-domain, we call it as ‘cow meat’, ‘cause everybody knows quite well how does it taste. Everything that hits Europe, seems softer, more mind-asker, less fast-food styled…so, in this Twilight Zone World, how would you feel? Normal? Common? Queer as…everybody?? Just another fan…like a Britney’s one? Hmmm…just one more stuffed- belly upstart?
And…think about it…would we have so much to talk about here in TDR? Would we lost our friendship and union, and…well, our reasons to make the “deeper and deeper analyses” - since TDR was found - to talk about their #1s here and there? Would we, in a general way, lose our spirit – to appreciate Roxette, no matter how successful they are in that moment – or would we be “maladjusted”??

They won’t go to that way.
Because their style of work won’t let them to be such a popular and famous band in
the world.
There are not many people in the world who can underestand and feel good and worthy
songs like songs of Roxette.(Just look at the top 10 of annual billboard).
Their great success in USA in the early 90’s was because of their new and undiscovered
style for people of that country.
To be brief:
Our Roxette will remain for ourselves.Be sure!

I wouldn’t have any problems if Rox would really turn that big, that well known ... (btw. some of us have been Roxfan for the last 13 years .... uuuuh such a long time. And those longtime-fans “survived” that Rox=damnpopular-time :) )
I wouldn’t be jealous if Rox would have as many fans as Britney, I wouldn’t feel like being such a small one among all the masses of fans. Because I’m not just one of those fans, I’m special (that maybe sound egocentric, but it isn’t ment that way) .... like you, and you and everyone else who is a fan rightnow!
If Rox would become so big, so popular, everywhereseen, and Rox would get more and more fans - be sure ... those new fans would be the ones to be jealous. Jealous for the fact, that we knew Rox before their “second worldwidebreakthrough” and that we can look back to a long periode we’ve “spent with Rox”!
(btw: I don’t think, that would happen. Rox’s music is not that easylisteningmainstreamdancefloorshit like most people need to hear - a lot of people even are not abel to LISTEN to music, they just hear it!)

It would be cool if they were big again....coz then I could go around saying ” I liked them before they became big” ;) and bash all the hangers on who only like them coz they’re the in band. ;)
Pigs might fly ;)

your posts are sooo long.... *yawn* nahhhhhh just kidding
If the success is well deserved and you know they worked hard for more than 20yrs in music..... I wouldn’t mind about a great commercial success.
Another 15 minutes of big fame wouldn’t be bad for them...... and after it the core will remain... and the trend followers.... well..... they will follow the new trend :))
But!!......beware.... that supposed success has to be reached by making the music they are used to make..... no trying new stupid styles or something..... at least I, don’t like (Rap, dance, or whatever)
