DEMOS!!!!!!

PEOPLE!! okay, i got a cd with 20 demos on it but i still wonder what in the world a DEMO is!!!!!!!!!!i know how it “sounds” like, but i dont know its meaning, and its purpose... and does it has to be “perfect” ? cause i realized most of them is per singing....
is a demo: “Hey Marie, you gotta sing like this” or is it : “i was playing this song in my room what do you guys think? “
do you see what i mean??
thanks!!

by the way does anybody knows where can i find more DEMOs?

Demo is short for demonstration. To show how a song possibly will sound like. Per’s demos tend to sound more and more like the finished song nowadays, which is sad I think. The reason Per sings is because he writes 99% of the material and I guess Marie isn’t involved in that at all.

by the way!
can anybody tell me where can i find MP3 from “I Remember” ???
thanks

come’ on people... can anybody give me a better definition? sorry if im anoying you guys but i just would like to know.. the ” real ” meaning of it...

like the Demos HAVE to be “perfect”:
- since its what the song ” should ” sound like, right? thats why per sings it cause he wants to ” show” marie how it goes.. and if IT IS suposed to be perfect how come per’s says that he tries to be less prepared so he doesnt get disapointed.

Or Demos DONT have to be perfect since for example almost 50%of the lyrics of the song ” whats she like” was changed! So per sings it even thought marie is the one that sings on the final song,,,

well i hope you guys understand where i am trying to go!

thank you!

Like I understand, is that when Per’s finished writing a song, and he thinks it should be recorded (by either himself or whoever), he calls up some palls and record it quickly. It’s mostly one or two takes, just so that he can get an idea what the sound of the song is. Then he plays them the demo, that is, the first take, and from there, they start working on the song.
No, it doesn’t have to be PERfect. It’s never perfect. Sometimes, when Marie is close at hand, he calls her up, and let’s her sing it. That version usually is like a second demo, which they might use for further development. But sometimes it sounds good enough, and they leave it like it is, like “Seduce Me”. That’s why the lyrics change, that’s why he doesn’t always sound good enough, and that’s it. Hope it answers your question.
And no, don’t know a thing about I remeber! What is it? New demo, or what?

doesn’t Per also record his “newly” written songs by himself (together with MP) because he has a lot of ideas for the songs that he might forget (until ROX will record them) if he is content with demos only with a guitar/piano and his voice???
