Any similarity in songs?

sure there are similarities.

“Like lovers do” and “I wanna be with you” are very similiar in the parts where per sings in LLD “feels just like forever...” and in IWBWY “I never felt so good about...” and the other 2 verses later.

There are similiraties... what really annoys is the fact that I can recall only this one:
“you know she packed her bags with nothing left to proof” part in 7twenty7 and “I lose on my own, I’m going back to school” part in Fool. They’re not the same, but that part in Fool always reminds me that part in 7t7

@ lawyer - yeah, I agree with you on that. I have always thought that as well!

i will never be able to listen to either How Do You Do! or Real Sugar in the same way again....

though on the subject of similar sounds i would have to say that Soul Deep and Soul Deep sound very alike!!! ;)

I do think that the guitar parts in “Cinnamon Street” and “Sleeping In My Car” are almost the same - the electric guitars, that is.

For me RS album was a copy of their previous hits:

Listen to your heart - My world, my love, my life...

How do you do! - Real sugar (the whole song)

The Look - The centre of the heart (the chorus, guitar and the na na na na)

Anyone (All I can think of is you...) - Milk and toast... (slow morning news pass me by...

ILTSOCG and DYGE guitar riffs sound similiar, but the problem is, that the chords are quite diferent... in DYGE it’s something like EM-G but in ILTSOCG it’s D-C. But I still believe that Per was influenced by DYGE while writing ILTSOCG.
Talking about similiarities, aren’t I Wanna Be With You and Fingertips quite similiar? Yeah, and Real Sugar an HDYD verses are very, very similiar, that’s for sure

The intro of Marie’s “I en tid som vår” is nearly exactly the same like the (instrumental) bridge in Breathe. But who is the thief? ;-)

The most obvious similarity in two Gessle-Songs to me is in “The first girl on the moon” & “June afternoon”:

.. she was the first girl on the moon ...
... it’s a bright June afternoon ...

sounds exactly the same!

Opportunity Nox and Gimme Gimme Shock Treatment....listen to the guitar part...exactly the same!

@muc_ben: Are you sure? I think I can hear some differences

There are so endless many similarities. Doesn´t make sence to mention them all.

In Silly really you have that crasy melodie in the beginning. In the background there is a second melody from the keybord - just three notes that repeats always. They are from “Crush on you” and somewhere else I heard them, too...

The intro to En sten vid en sjö i en skog has the Crush On You notes as well!

ive always thought that Run To You and Fading Like A Flower were similar in their tempos and were almost like sister and brother...they sort of match.....well i think so anyway lols

Yep, PWB & Galning - En sten vid en sjö i en skog + Crush On You + Silly Really

What can one say? Its a catchy little ditty! ;o)

Yes, now I remember, it was en sten vid en sjö which was similary to crush on you and silly really. Didn´t remind when I wrote my last answer....

BUT: Did you notice that the bass-line in Party Pleaser is very similary to “Ska vi älska.... till Boddy Holly”. It´s the same chords (“Am, G, F, G”) and the same rhythm.....

I first heard the whole Joyride album on 1992. So I familiar with How Do You Do first. Then I heard Church of Your Heart and I thought it was How Do You Do. I kept waiting for Marie to sing “How Do You Do”, but of course it never happened ;)

I also think that the piano part on Lay Down Your Arms sound like the one in The First Girl on The Moon.
