I was thinking tonight it woud be good to know everyones most skipped track or tracks!!
To begin, here are mine...
Church of Your Heart
Vulnerable
Place Your Love
there are more but they can be listened too, I cannot listen to those 3.
For non skipping sakes, I never skip a track on HAND or even Pers ’Party Crasher’
BaseCat said on January 17, 2009 12:00:
I do not like being negative, but ok, these are mine:
From LS!: Half a woman, half a shadow
From Joyride: Soul deep
From C!B!B!: Love is all (shine your light on me)
From HAND: Cooper
From RS: too many to mention (4, 5, 6, 7, 11)
I do like every single track on Tourism though!

Songs that I cannot stand and I always skip are:
- View From A Hill
- Physical Fascination
- Never Is A Long Time
- I Love The Sound Of Crashing Guitars
- Lies
- Staring At The Ground
- Make My Head Go Pop (probably, their worst production ever)
- One Wish

I never skip, which is strange... when I listen to an album, I just want to hear all songs, although some of them are really terrible (Bringing Me Down To My Knees, View From A Hill). I hope I’m not the only exception
BaseCat said on January 17, 2009 15:32:
Interesting how people can have such a different taste in music. I really like most of the songs that Raëlian mentioned (I just love Physical Fascination), but I do agree upon Staring At The Ground and One Wish.
I do not actually skip tracks either; maybe I just keep hoping that there might be something about the song that I could like anyhow.
By the way, what on earth is wrong with View From A Hill? For me, this song is such a relief after that terrible Half A Woman, Half A Shadow.

Per: Most of Mazarin and EHM and SOAP ;)
Roxette: Soul Deep, Love is all, many on Room Service
Marie: Den bästa dagen, used to hate Den dar novemberdan but I ended up loving it, Mild varm vår
GT: don’t remember anymore.. Händerna is not one of my favourites, if I had to choose the album I like the leastI’d take F5F I guess.

- i skip very often, very much!
- but it doesn’t mean AT ALL that i dont like the songs
- but for some songs i need to have a certain feeling, a need for listening
...so every song has the same potential to be skipped or not ;-)

It depends on the mood or how long since I last heard the song, because sometimes the songs that I hate the most could sound better in few years.
I guess for now I skip Wish I Could Fly, You Don’t Understand Me, Vulnerable, You Can’t Put Your Arms, 7 twenty 7, Wish You The Best (there were times this was my fav from the album), Try and most of the demos (if those count).

I skip “Harleys and Indians” because of the terrible lyrics. Who knew Roxette could be so un-PC? :-)

i skip through 90% of the albums released by per or marie after Have a nice day..
roxtexanet said on January 18, 2009 22:07:
Roxette: None - I like all of the songs that made it to albums (especially “Half a Woman, Half a Shadow”, my favourite non-single from “Look Sharp!”)... thankfully, “Happy Together” never made it to an album...
Gessle: Only some of the newer ones (and even these aren’t really that bad)... “Dixy,” “Hannas Kärlekspil,” “Våldsamt Stillsamt,” and now “Kissing is the Key” (I can’t believe Per has written such an awful song, and kept it for himself... the horrible lyrics, and Helena’s awful “Kissing! Kissing! Kissing! Kissing!” bit... ugh!! Per!! No no no no!!).
Marie: I don’t like a lot of songs on “Min Bästa Vän” after the first song and before the last... so when I play it, I start at the last song, let the CD start over, and then turn it off after “Sommarang”! Track 6 is pretty though... “All About You” is pretty awful, and the Orchestral version of “The Change” gives me Disney nightmares... :-D Skipping over Micke’s songs, though, I think this album has some of Marie’s best vocal performances (“The Good Life”) and most interesting arrangements (“Bad Moon”).
Gyllene Tider: I rarely listen to anything released earlier than “Halmstads Pärlor” and I think “Jag Borde Förstås Vetat Bättre” is easily the worst single in the entire Gessle/Fredriksson catalogue... I was surprised that the song was included on “F5F” but shocked when it was chosen as the final single...
Overall, though, I have to say I’ve always been amazed with how much I end up enjoying my P&M albums... with other artists, I’m lucky if there are four or five songs on the album I enjoy (example: the new P!nk CD)... considering the hundreds of songs Per and Marie have put out over the years, and Per’s propensity for experimenting with new sounds at this stage in his career, it’s easy to overlook a few disappointments. I would never bother to preview one of their albums before buying it - they’ve earned my trust at this point (you’re on thin ice, P!nk - another horrible song like “Funhouse” and your next album’s going in the “only if somebody gives me an iTunes gift card” pile... (-: ).
roxtexanet said on January 19, 2009 01:38:
@Roxwriter: I think I can answer that - here in Canada, aboriginal people used to be called “Indians” but that term is no longer considered politically correct (except for people actually from India) - First Nations (or, more generally, aboriginal) is preferred. Of course, Per’s talking about a motorcycle!
Roxwriter said on January 19, 2009 11:47:
Dear god! What a load of ol’ horse sh1t.
So it’s no longer cowboys and indians... but cowpersons and crimson skinned aboriginals?
Pure and utter rubbish
DoraHun said on January 19, 2009 13:23:
For me, the most skipped are Vulnerable (it must be a bad song, almost everyone here skips it!), and One Wish. There are some others that i don’t really like, but these two are the most skipped ones.
Katya said on January 19, 2009 13:47:
For me, the most-skipped ROX songs would be:
POP: I rarely listen to that one these days, so hard to say... I know that I wouldn’t normally skip “The Call of the Wild’, “From One Heart to Another”, “Secrets That She Keeps”, “I Call Your Name”, but the other tracks I find rather dated now...
LS: View from a Hill, Shadow of Doubt (too long and depressive for my taste), Cry (the live version from the LS Borgholm Castle concert was much much better), Sleeping Single (never liked it) & Dance Away.
Joyride: Small Talk, Perfect Day (I seem to have a problem with this track, whereas everyone else loves it)
Tourism: Can listen to all of it, actually.
CBB: SIMC + Do You Wanna Go the Whole Way. Btw, I love Vulnerable, so I wouldn’t agree to it being a specifically bad song in any way :)
HAND: I Was so Lucky + Pay the Price (what a weak song)
RS: sadly, quite as many skipped songs as on LS here, including Little Girl, Bringing Me Down to my Knees, Make My Head Go Pop, Try & Fool.
Kiwein1 said on January 19, 2009 14:08:
Roxette:

Love 2 Live, Värdighet

Usually I seldom skip tracks as I want to hear full album and I like almost every rox song, but if I am to choose than I would skip
POP – Voices, it sounds too weird for me
LS – View From The Hill, for obvious reasons
Joiride – what is there to skip? The album is great!
Tourism – Cinnamon Street, maybe because Marie’s version is so much better
CBB – can’t find any tracks to skip on this masterpiece either!
BEE – i like Spanish language, but CBB and Timida sounds somehow strange in this language
HAND – I don’t like Cooper and Stars, strange sound for Roxette
RS – I don’t get why it is the most hated album among fans, I like all songs except Little Girl, if I am honest I don’t like the way Marie delivers this song
As for the last 2 songs One Wish I like very much. As for Reveal it’s ok, but I don’t like the chorus of the song
From Per’s solo I’d mention Sakta Mina Steg cos I can’t help but laugh when I hear Per sing falsetto. It doesn’t suit him at all, sounds so amusing. I think I only listned to it once
From Marie’s solo I’d say The Change, it sounds somewhat scary
ncurran said on January 21, 2009 18:56:
I skip quite a lot, but one big steaming pile of crap that springs to mind immediately is Cooper. That song is horrendous.
Anarem said on January 22, 2009 06:12:
@roxwriter
What’s rubbish are the lyrics. Cringe-worthy!
I should have been more clear in saying that whenever I hear the term “redskin” (“when I get to heaven, redskin heaven”), it’s akin to calling someone from China a “Chinaman” or a Brit a “limey”. Very 1950s vocab, lazy, unenlightened songwriting on Per’s part. It was his misguided attempt to sound badass, much like “I Love The Sound of Crashing Guitars” (another catastrophe from C!B!B!). Stick to lyrics about stuff you know, Per, like lovemaking, and Milk and Toast and Honey. :-)
@roxtexanet:
Oddly enough, the native folk I know are quite fine with using the term “Indian” to describe themselves. :-) (Greetings from Winnipeg, BTW– you’re from Ottawa, aren’t you?)

Pearls Of Passion - So Far Away (it bores me to tears)
Look Sharp! - Dressed For Success ( i hate it) and sometimes Dangerous
Joyride - Watercolours In The Rain
Tourism - Silver Blue - but i usually do listen to it but its my least favourite
Crash! Boom! Bang! - None i love it all including Vulnerable though it can be a bit slow going at times.
Have A Nice Day - varied and i love it more because of it though i wasnt keen on Cooper i dont mind it now.
Room Service - Make My Head Go Pop - liked it in 2001 but its a bit, well crap now to be honest....i think i grew up. but as a whole i like most of the tracks.
out of the none album songs i probably only skip Opportunity Nox and Little Miss Sorrow even though i do let them play from time to time

PoP - Soul Deep (so annoying), Secrets That She Keeps, From One Heart To Another
DP - Soul Deep, Secrets That She Keeps
LS! - Dressed For Success
Joyride - Watercolours In The Rain, (again...) Soul Deep, Church Of Your Heart
Tourism - Never Is A Long Time (and so is this song)
C!B!B! - Vulnerable, Place Your Love (because they’re both sooooo boring)
HAND - I Was So Lucky (I just hate it), Salvation, Cooper
RS - Jefferson, Looking For Jane, Bringing Me Down TMK, Try (JALBH)
Greatest Hits albums - The whole Pop Hits bonus EP, luckily all these songs are on a seperate disc, so that technically I never skip them.

@Anarem: Regina! Lovely weather us prairie-folk are having, eh?
I thought “redskin heaven” was referring to potatoes... :-D Yup, many FN people I know call themselves “Indians” just the same as many gay people I know use terms for each other they probably wouldn’t like straight people using for them. It doesn’t help that we have the First Nations University of Canada, but the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Association and Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations, and INAC and so on. An in-group/out-group thing, I think. No wonder we’re confused! I can see why some FN people would reject “Indian” though... it’s confusing! Like, “My favourite food is Indian food” - is that bannock or curry? (-;
P.S. My grandma still says things like “Chinaman,” “lady doctor,” “Pakistaniel” (?!), and all kinds of other decidedly archaic/un-PC things. Of course, she’s almost 90!
