Hi
I found a Ballad and Pop hits cd/dcd “gift set” on the internet and I bought it. Last night I received it - when was this released?? It definately wasn’t released in 2003!!
It’s a very very very nice collectable digipack. Very nicely done, but when was it released and why wasn’t us fans informed about the release on Roxette’s website??
Any info on this release.
Thanx

Hi! Thanx
I guess I missed the discussion then... It’s a GREAT compilation all in all. LOL

It wasn’t discussed to death like some things are on here. I guess people weren’t all that excited because it was just the same songs again. Still, I agree with you, I like the set myself

Sorry, I just missed adding it to rox.se... :( Too many sites, too little time.

There was no need to import... these are freely available in South Africa. ;) Ofcourse what would travelling the country be without stopping at a few music shops ... man did I find some obscure goods for trading!

Well, you’re right. The set is nothing REALLY to get excited about - but it’s still better than Party Crasher! LOL
They should have released the set in 2003 when it was still new and “fresh”.
Thanx guys!

CoyRoy i totally agree with you. :-)
And the package is very nice gift for Roxette fan,as we understand last sunday :-)

If you think that a set of old and worn songs is better than Per’s new album, that’s only a matter of personal taste. Don’t put it like an absolute truth. If you are happy in getting the same songs again, good for you. But don’t mock on those that like “Party Crasher”.
I don’t know why you have to mix this with Per, because there’s no need.

Dear RAELIAN - go take some headache pills and go lie down, honey.
I’m entitled to my own opinion, if it offend you, then please don’t read my answers. Go do something else.
Roxette’s songs will never be “worn” like you put it. They still sound fresh and meaningful to me - they made me a fan. That’s how I got to know Per Gessle. LOL
You know - this Ballad Hits/Pop Hits compilation is the perfect gift for people who don’t know Roxette that well!
Raëlian said on January 15, 2009 17:50:
You take it so personal, that it seems you are the only one that needs some pills. You are, of course, really biased regarding “Party Crasher”. If you didn’t like it, I am very sorry for you. But don’t drag your frustration in here, because this topic is not about Per Gessle nor his latest album.
I can’t feel offended by something like this. I only say that there’s no point in mixing two different matters.

Back to topic
This package is worth it.
Nice, classic, luxurious item full with great music and beautiful videos.
And it’s good way to represent Roxette and the best of Per’s music and lyrics to new people.

You’re absolutely right, Emil. When my friends ask me what they should buy to get to know Roxette, I tell them to go get the Ballad & Pop hits....
The way Marie sings “Spending My Time” makes me proud of being a fan of this great band.

Where can I buy this online? Will I be able to play the DVD in Australia?
ncurran said on January 18, 2009 01:08:
you can buy it from amazon

Thank you so much ncurran...I’ve been looking at amazon.com so I couldn’t find it. Now I have to make sure what is the region for the DVD. Really hope that it’s Region 0.
I have also been reading the discussion thread concerning this release, and some fans were quite disappointed with the same old compilations being release it a “new” way. But please don’t complaint people, this release has created a new opportunity for people to REDISCOVER Roxette. People like me :-)
But I have to say, I can imagine how a die-hard fan must feel...
ncurran said on January 18, 2009 11:32:
I think it is region 0. I certainly couldnt find any region on the packaging. The weird this is that when I looked at it, it says it is NTSC, which is strange because we have the PAL system here and I bought it from the UK amazon and it wasnt listed as an import. It still plays on my dvd player, but i thought that was a bit strange

Hey, I got my Pop & Ballad Hits + DVD in the mail today. What a nice little package. So cute...supa kawaii des ne...thank you TDR :-)
This release may not be that interesting to fans who have everything, but it is a nice way to re-introduce Roxette to people. Plus the packaging is really neat, it looks nice as a present, well it is called ’Gift Pack’ isn’t it? :-).
Hope they’ll come out with “Roxette Gift Basket”...all 7 studio albums in one basket...LOL...looks like I’m getting greedy, can’t get enough of Roxette...thanks again TDR...
CoyRoy said on January 28, 2009 10:19:
Hey Toby!! Ya, I agree - it’s a great gift pack....
I also wish Roxette would re-master their old albums with a bonus track on each!!
Would be fun!! They should also put some alternative pictures in the booklets to make it even more interesting.

It was released in October 2008. No idea why it wasn’t on the official Rox site, but it was discussed here at the time.
