Milla - Pleasure & Pain LP (1991)
Invisible_man said on November 11, 2008 17:23:
Anyone heard this album? rather obscure album from Swedish singer Milla from 1991. Style is melodic rock/pop, wonderful stuff sung in English. I did not get this lp because of Roxette connection, but here it is: Mats MP Persson of Gylene Tyder plays on it. All songs are written by same person, can't remember the name of composer at this moment, but he did an amazing job with this album. by the way Milla was also a part of a band Millas Mirakel, but they sang in Swedish not in English.

Personally I don’t think it’s related enough. If I have a cat that walks on one of my Rox records I couldn’t start a thread about it in Roxette and related.
Invisible_man said on November 12, 2008 17:32:
a cat? what are you talking about?? That’s a dumb example
Mats MP Persson was involved in that record as a musician, and that’s not related enough you say? Not to mention stylistically the album is very similar to Roxette
than what is the point of putting “Roxette-related Artists” in the description of Roxette section? Why not just say “topics Only about Roxette (Per and Marie)”???
Invisible_man said on November 12, 2008 18:15:
how is that me playing dumb?
what is a “Roxette-related artist”?
I think Milla Andersson is even mentioned in a Roxette album, cuz I think she did some backup vocals as well. If I am not mistaken, that’s the same person
Invisible_man said on November 12, 2008 18:17:
and that’s “not related to Roxette”?
or is sharing the same musicians, also not related to Roxette?
tevensso (moderator) said on November 12, 2008 18:35:
We can discuss this forever and you will still not win.
Invisible_man said on November 12, 2008 18:42:
I am not trying to win, hmm but it seems that I am
just trying to understand what is a “Roxette-related artist”?
whateveriam said on November 12, 2008 20:53:
A Roxette-related artist is someone who has worked with Rox, Per or Marie solo, eg Micke, Helena, or MP. People who have actively worked with them, or who have covered one of their songs would deem them ’Roxette-related’. A non-Roxette-related artist is someone with no connection to the band or who has worked with someone who has worked with Roxette in the past. The link is too tenuous in this case to say they’re related. Simple enough I think
Invisible_man said on November 12, 2008 21:51:
whateveryouare:
so you think that an artist who just covered a Roxette song is related.....well I don’t
but a singer who sang on an actual Roxette record, and is thanked on that record by Roxette themselves is unrelated to Roxette? Not to mention who worked with GT member... unrelated at all, right?
or is being thanked for singing with Roxette not a strong enough link to be considered a Roxette related artist?
that makes no sense to me!
tevensso (moderator) said on November 12, 2008 21:52:
First of all it’s Gyllene Tider. And yes MP is related. Milla is NOT related enough. Why is this even an issue??
Invisible_man said on November 12, 2008 21:57:
so singing and being thanked on a Roxette record is not enough of a relation?
plus being produced by MP? Still not enough of a relation?
To me that’s being a Roxette-related artist. There is a direct musical link between the two
Invisible_man said on November 12, 2008 22:36:
no I don’t
another thing that you don’t seem to understand is the concept of “sarcasm”, in addition to that of “relation”
and still I have not heard a good factual reason behind removal of topic.... other than your opinion that’s not based on any facts whatsoever
tevensso (moderator) said on November 12, 2008 22:43:
Well, it’s great that we agree. Now please let’s get back on topic.
Invisible_man said on November 12, 2008 22:46:
and to add about your rather ignorant analogy
when your cat gets a thank you from Roxette on their record, and gets a record co-produced by MP, maybe than we can make a topic about your cat in the Roxette section as well.

All I can say is: Does it matter??? Jeez, get over it!
Room_service said on November 13, 2008 13:31:
So, any album produced by Anders Herrlin or engineered by Alar Suurna is related to Roxette too? Come on!
Invisible_man said on November 13, 2008 17:34:
did those Artists ever appear on a Roxette album, or on any songs from Roxette?
and why not, if an artist has a direct Roxette link, than they are related
notice I did not have to go through 10 artists to establish a link between Roxette and Milla, link is is very direct and simple, in more than one ways too
Invisible_man said on November 14, 2008 00:14:
what about the topic?
Millas’s one and only album is a classy piece of female aor-pop music..... had it gotten some deserved promo it would have been a hit. Stylewise it’s similar to Roxette, maybe some Corrs, or even Belinda Carlisle
Morgan Hjalmarsson wrote all songs on it, a talented man (he was also a part of Millas Mirakel, that’s all I know of him)
I really don’t think it was necessary to move the topic to Other.
Room_service said on November 14, 2008 01:13:
Not related enough to keep the Roxette fans interested on this. That’s the easiest way to know if a topic is related ot not. I could come up with many albums and artists who have worked closely to Roxette, but I don’t think the other members would be interested in that.
Invisible_man said on November 14, 2008 12:22:
you are mistaking “interested” with “not knowing” or to use a harsher word -“ignorant”
most Roxette fans never even heard her music..... she was not on a 24-7 rotation on a local radio station, and MTV, let alone featured in a big Hollywood movie.
lol had Roxette not been promoted so highly in UK/US, 90% of people here would not even be here, or to put it in Your mistaken words “would not be interested in them”
and who cares if anyone is interested?! That does not change the direct relation at all.
If a section says “Related Artists to Roxette”, than any aritst who sang on a Roxette record, or with Per or Marie, or was produced by Roxette/GT producers/members would definitely fit into that section. Regardless if anyone is interested, likes them, or even knows about them
And being thanked as a singer on a Roxette record is a big direct relation, the only thing closer-related would be singers Per and Marie themselves
tevensso (moderator) said on November 14, 2008 16:36:
So how will the “interested ignorant Roxette fans” get this album from 1991? I doubt it sold even 40 copies when it was released in Sweden.
Invisible_man said on November 14, 2008 18:12:
the same way I got it, on ebay from Sweden, and I’ve seen it there a few times
the problem was with a very small record label that put no money into promoting her solo English album... I am not sure if there was even a video made
Invisible_man said on November 12, 2008 01:14:
why was this moved from Roxette section??
as this is related to Gyllene Tider and to Roxette, as I pointed it out above
oh well, it’s a great record nonetheless
