People Power: Global Petition to get Roxette Back!

Hi Everyone,
Why don’t we start a petition on the Daily Roxette website.
I have shown lots of people (who are not roxette fans) this link and absolutely everybody gets emotional (including guys) and says its terrible that roxette are gone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvKl1VHqMOU
I believe there is a HUGE untapped global market to get Roxette united. Wouldn’t it be great to see a classic like this number 1 across the world again.

that is some of the most selfish shit i have ever read. per and marie will do another album if they want to so why should you guys do a petition. its up to them not up to us. i mean marie will never be the same she says she cant remember alot of things and always feels like she has no energy and is even blind in one eye and still people are sayin “lets do a petition” thats not right just thing yourself lucky that with all the gt, lb, pg, mf, and rox albums combined and all the outtakes and demos you have a f**k load of material to listen to. some bands dont offer that type of selection - 2 or 3 lps and bye bye!!! theres 1000s of tracks to get us through!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Firstly on Marie’s Illness she said in an interview recently that she feels increasing better and hopes to be doing some smaller scale roxette stuff soon. She said her and Per are in constant discussion. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IIA2vdFnFQ Why do you assume a petition is negative - Im sure they would love to see support.
Seriously what harm can a petition do? If we canvass YouTube submitters to have a link we could drive interest to TDR. I am interested in re-energising non-Roxette fans..
Im not selfish - I don’t want Roxette just for myself or even the hardcore fans. I want to see the whole world listening to Roxette again. On a practical note the promotion would certainly help any future albums.

While I dont think it will make much difference, I wouldnt say it is selfish. A few years ago I wouldve said it was, but as someone else has said...while of course Marie does still suffer side effects from her illness, she has pretty much recovered and has already expressed her desire to work with roxette again.
The petition wont sway P&M’s decision either way, but if nothing else if lots of people sign it, its at least a sign that they still have an audience out there!

i still think it is up to per and marie not us!!!!! she might be feeling well enough to record wot 2 new tracks for another greatest hits album but it takes the best part of a year to write record and mix a long player it sounds great if she could do it but i just dont knot. and if per has just finished mixing the demos according to gessle. then if they start it tomorrow we aint gonna see a new album til at least june next year. brad

Do we really need this kind of stupid (and childish) petition again? Nodoby gets music on demand, you can’t force any artist to record any music, it’s all up to their inspiration and will to record music again. It’s not like writting a letter to Santa to get what you want, when YOU want.
A new album has to be totally spontaneous and fresh, it doesn’t work this way. In the other hand, I don’t think Per/Marie NEED TO KNOW they have an audience out there. They know that already, there’s no need to start a petition or anything else.
I’d rather start a petition to know the truth about what happened in Roswell (New Mexico), in 1947...

I think that there is no needed to make a petitions after last interview with Marie. We can expect new album. Also because there are no songs left for another greatest hits album. ;-)

Hope for the best, expect the worse. Marie will probably continue to say there’s a future in the band, even if there isn’t a hope in hell. Why? Cos there’s money to be made!

As a few fans have already mentioned, I don’t have anything against a friendly fan petition. Petition sort of shows that we, fans, are waiting for new Roxette music and that Roxette still has the audience.
