To All Aussie Fans!!

Hi there Down Under!! I’m just curious to how many Roxette fans are left in Oz. I know that they haven’t been promoted at all here lately. But I thought that by fans purchasing their new stuff would’ve encouraged EMI to pull their finger out! So it looks as if there’s not that many loyal Rox fans here. Not enough to get radio stations raving. Pitty! They’re such brilliant artists. Per’s lyrics are always really querky and memorable. The uptempo tunes so catchy. I’ve been a fan from the start. I have toned down towards ’em a bit now. Maybe ’coz I’m not a teenager anymore. I admire their talant and music now. I still reckon they’re lovely people, but I don’t obsess over ’em as much as I did. Still, I buy whatever I can get my hands on here. I’ll still alwys remember meeting Per in Sweden. But... that’s another story already told. Tell us your whole Rox experience over the years. Cheers!!

Hey there Julz,
Im from Tassie.
Like you I have been a fan right from the start.
The first CD that I ever owned was Tourism. (had Look Sharp and Joyride on cassette), Then slowly but surley I purchased all the cd’s that I could. Had a little trouble getting correct info down her on the RoxBox, but finally got it ordered from Sanity.
Over the years I have purchased all the cd singles I could get my hands on and all of the albums. Theres no much I dont have.
Its funny most of the staff at the shops where I have purchase my most recent stuff all say Roxette, I love them. Then A day or two after, I might be walking past the shop again, and hear them playing some of their musc.
Anyways I hope there are more Aussie fans out there as well.

Problenm is, I have a few singles short. Once Roxette stopped bein’ promoted here, no more singles were released. Only their albums were released. I don’t even have the “Opportunity Nox” single. I doubt that was even released here. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

Aussie fan here in Sydney,

Still quietly fanatical.

When the RoxBox was released I was doing my best to email radio stations to play One Wish. Once you’ve been part of RoxAttaq, you can’t really shake the bug :)

Very much an active fan and for any “missing” singles, try eBay?

Hiya Julz!
In 2003 I had vague memories from my childhood of a couple of tracks by a chick named “Roxette” that were hell of a catchy... downloaded ’Dangerous’ and ’Joyride’ and was hooked.
I’m in Ballarat, Victoria by the way.

From NSW. Got hooked in 1992 and have been listening ever since. I still remember when and where i got most of my albums and the first time i listened to them. Is that strange?

I tried emailing OW to my local station on release. I don’t think i even got a reply back.

Julz said “Maybe ’coz I’m not a teenager anymore. I admire their talant and music now”

I think most people would be in the same boat. Things change over time, but there is no reason not to admire what they have done. Despite what critics and others might say, Rox have put out some damn fine music over the years, just a pity that more people didn’t also figure that out :-P

Can’t agree with you more there, Rob!! They are fine artists. It’s a HUGE shame they had to fizzle out like that here. I can’t be bothered runnin’ ’round to radio stations to beg ’em to play ’em. I did it once and never again. No time now anyway. Not as lucky as the guy from the States, who helped get Roxette started years ago. Pitty it don’t work like that for everyone.

I’m a huge fan since 1990!!! From Sydney!!! If it’s possible I love them more now then I did back then I think!! Through the years I would listen to other artists but it’s Roxette and their solo stuff that I always come back to! Actually the last few years I have to say I’m loving them all over again like in the early 90’s but more in the sense of appreciating their talent and music. Of course seeing Per in concert and meeting Marie (check out www.mariefredriksson.net to see my footage!) this past August has made me love them even more!!!!

No it isn’t strange Rob that you remember when and where you got their albums and first listening to them as I remember the exact same things! I can clearly remember for instance getting the Joyride album and coming home listening to it and not being able to get past ’Fading like a flower’ as I didn’t think it was possible that a song could be that awesome ;) I’m very thankful that I love their solo work too as I would be incredibly sad if Roxette was the only thing and that was over!

BTW the other night was out at a club asked the DJ to play a roxette song and the very next song he played “Dangerous” everyone loved it!

I live near Gosford in NSW, been a fan since I did a school project on them in year 7 in 1990. Back then I had a Look Sharp casstette, but now I have most of the CDs of course - still really love Per’s solo stuff too - listening to Roxette is like my life story as I have been doing it for so long and all the songs bring back certain memories 4 me!!

Fan since ’89 when The Look was released, then became obsessed and started collecting everything.

Rox are getting some aussie promotion this week! Check out the Kmart catalogue :P Rox DVD on special $9.99! This is as exciting as it gets these days! :)

I saw that. I got it already anyway. It’s the only dvd of theirs available here, besides the Roxbox. Wouldn’t have most loyal fans got it by now?

Most fans would, but anyone else who “remembers” Roxette might not have wanted to pay $25-30 on release. So to pick it up for $10 is a no brainer i would think.

I might get a second copy, you know, just in case. :-)
