Hello everybody
Is there anyone that can help me with a Dance Passion CD? I know there was apparently a bootleg available from Germany. I want one badly!! Does anybody have proper scans or pictures of the album sleeve front and back and what did the LP look like?
You can mail me if you want - [email protected]
Thanks
Egmond

Julz!!
I was lucky enough to have accidenly come across a copy of the cd at Pipeworks market a few years back for A$50. The shop is no longer at the market (this is in Melbourne, by the way). But I reckon it was recorded from an LP. It sounds like a record. Good quality sound though.

I agree, I have the CD and to be honest it looks and sounds as good as a genuine cd !
CoyRoy said on October 9, 2007 09:54:
I have the LP (Thanx Purps!) and I have the German bootleg and yes, the quality is really good on the cd.
I came across the bootleg cd, quite by accident, in a “Look&Listen” store in Cape Town when I was on holiday there in 1998. I almost p*ssed my pants. I was actually looking for a Pearls Of Passion and Rarities album and found a bigger surprise..LOL.
I just wish Roxette would re-release it officially on cd with a nice booklet!

I think I got mine from a record fayre in the UK when they used to have all the live bootlegs too, as for releasing it.......c’mon it’s not very good!

Here is a scan of the rear and CD for anoyone wanting to “make their own” copy.
The rear looks like the sides were nicked from Look Sharp and the disc looks like it is nicked from the original Pearls of Passion CD

Dance Passion.......hahahahahahahah I have an old vinyl LP copy, still new......... but I brought with me my turntable, not the Lp:P
Julz said on October 9, 2007 22:44:
Hey, I think it’s great! I absolutely love the songs on it. I used to listen to it a lot. I,ve moved on from it now. It’s still a very valuable part of my collection. What did you find not so great about it, mate?
rossyrox said on October 10, 2007 10:29:
I would like to withdraw my previous comment, I have just listened to it again and quite enjoyed it!!

I had payed a lot of money for mine about 1 year ago, something like 60 Euros... I know it’s a huge amount of money for a bootleg cd which sounds as an LP (even if the quality is quite good) and has a low definition picture sleeve. Still it’s the only release of this album on CD. Seen as I have it on LP as well, I might sell it again, I’ll have to think about it. Check the Market Place...

For a remix album.... Dance passion its awesome. But there is better things.
Jules-SouthAfrica said on October 11, 2007 12:22:
OMG you people paid SO much for that CD !!
Hahaha sorry that makes me laugh.
A few copies were sold in music stores in South-Africa, so I got it 3 or 4 years ago for only R50. Which is about 5 euro’s, or $7 US :P
Oh how I love South-Africa.
:D

I love LP vinyls , I have a professional turntable and I enjoy a lot the sound of this format..... are vinyls under priced because nowadays not everyone has a turntable at home???
CoyRoy said on October 12, 2007 07:53:
I think Dance Passion should be re-mastered and re-released on cd. I really think it’s good - I’m a BIG fan of remixes....
Gachy said on October 18, 2007 08:52:
Per even confessed those mixes were crap (virtually). I tend to agree with him about this matter. With no approval from him, the re-release of Dance Passion is unlikely to happen - please, don’t start a new online petition! That EP is only appealing for the Rox fans, but nobody else would buy it on CD (if released).
“When a fan once asked Roxette singer Per Gessle (47) where he could buy the rare CD with dance versions of the first hits of the Swedish popduo, his answer was, “Don’t bother. It’s a worthless record”. (This refers to Dance Passion)”.

Well i like it lol. I dont have to agree with per. I dont agree that he didnt push for Crush on you to be released either lol.
Julz said on October 18, 2007 10:09:
I agree with ya! Per’s mad for hatin’ it!! Not that I’ve ever heard him say that. he’s mad, anyway!! As I said earlier, it’s a great album! Even if it sounds like an LP a bit. It’s still very catchy. I played that cd to death, almost.
modernatidergt25 said on October 18, 2007 13:08:
@ Gachy: yes, Per is right, I wouldn’t paid more than 5 bucks mine, and I did it because it had been in that store for too long, it was cheap, and because it wasn’t included in my collection. All I did was to add and extra item...
Gachy said on October 18, 2007 17:44:
I agree with you above. Maybe those remixes were great and “cool” in the context of 1987. It was the state-of-the-art in that specific time. But according to the today’s standards they are awful. Who else, apart of Roxette fans, would be interested in that kind of bombastic, synth-remixes? They make me cringe. I consider myself a fan of the 80’s music, but that EP is too much even for me. I have no problem regarding the original “Pearls of Passion” album, for instance.
I am not that fond of bootlegs. Actually, “Dance Passion” is the only Roxette bootleg I ever got. And I got it because I found it here, and it was cheap, and I wanted to hear those remixes, bla bla... After that, I played it 2 or 3 times, and it was more than enough, hehe.
Julz said on October 18, 2007 21:30:
I wonder why all u guys got it so cheap? I feel a bit ripped off now. Since it’s a bootleg. A$50 bux is a lot of money fort somethin’ like that. Oh, well I’ve no regrets. What’s done is done now. Too bad for me.

Strange, I’m absolutely sure i red an interview in which Per said smth like *I always loved Dance Passion. It’s a pity it was underrated* It seems it’s a usual thing for Per to change his point of view. As for me these remixes are not so good as remixes for TL, WICF or Stars, but they are rather interesting.

They turn up randomly on ebay sometimes, usually for huge amounts of money (last one I saw was selling at around 80 GBP ;-S). The LP is easier to find, and that’s saying something! There’s an LP on ebay at the moment

These are reasonable quality scans of the cover, I can’t do you a copy of the LP surface itself because I can’t fit it into my scanner (I don’t want to break it!)

Other then that I can’t really help you!
