this is totally bullshit, isn’t it? There is nothing announced that they are releasing a new CD next year or are in the studio. Even on the Roxette page you can find a hint in the discography section:

I have no comment either way. I’m not holding my breathe, but I’m not saying it’s not gonna happen. Feb 08 does seem VERY close though!!! A bit too close for a Rox album, unless there has been secret work being done on it?

The pages have already been changed though, so I’m guessing someone has gone in their and edited them. Shows something!!

I’ve done some digging and managed to find out that there will be a new Album in Feb 2008, it will be available in 3 versions.

1) The non-existant version, this is a very expensive blank CD-R

2) The non-existant plus version, this is an extra special version featuring a blank CD-R that has tha capability of holding an extra 10 mins of music. This is available to China residents only and can only be purchased thorugh the CD-R manufacturer’s website. They will not ship overseas.

3) The non-existant deluxe version. This 100-print edition contains both 1) and 2) and also contains a never before released greatest hits CD, that just so happens to be blank due to a factory error. This is being treated as a rare misprint and is only available from a small shed in the Northern Territory of Australia, you must visit in person to get a copy.

LOL, if anyone’s gonna try and pull a stunt like that, they should do something more substantial, make it actually believeable/plausible. On the German Wiki Roxette page there was (might still be there) a thing saying that Rarities 2 would be out this year. And if you hunted around, you found a torrent that said ’Rarities 2’... :-S

Anyway, it was a fake, don’t get your hopes up!

Not bad, at last a rare release in this country. I’ll drive there and get a copy for me and a copy for ebay.

Scroll up and you will see that this is referring to release schedules in early 2007. The entry for Roxette clearly says Spring 2007 which would have been the GH release or RoxBox released earlier this year.

I don’t think there is a chance in hell we’d see anything from Roxette in Feb. 2008. Not very optimistic am I?

Er, no. I don’t. They owe us nothing. And before any of you leap back with that ’oh, but we’ve been paying their wages for however many years, we must have some say’, that means very little. They are not faceless, brainless drones you can command to produce an album because you bought a few of however many albums or singles. We’re fans, not shareholders.

And to be frank, even if they turned out a new album tomorrow, certain people would complain that it either

1) Doesn’t sound like Joyride
1b) Doesn’t sound like CBB
2) It’s not the ’old guard’ any more.
3) Will post 3rd one when I remember this one ;-)

Sometimes, I wonder who the adults are around here.

It’s so sad that some people do care for Roxette, but don’t give a damn for people behind it. Sorry but P&M are not just Roxette, they are humans in the first place. I also find it stupid when some fans count how much money they spent on Roxette, I think they got so much more in return. And I wouldn’t like any official statement, I prefer to have some hope.

But I think it’s reached the point where some fans live in a sort of denial anyway, they might refuse to accept any decision to split. :S Hope it doesn’t happen if and when they do. Also, it’s reached the point where I just don’t care any more. If they’d split in 2003/2004 I’d have been devastated. And I don’t think anybody is going to commit suicide just because they feel so frustrated since we don’t have any Rox news. Just relax and take it easy. They are not forced to give any kind of official statement or anything like that. Lots of bands split without any official statement. And if there are no Rox news, I don’t think they should tell anything.

Besides, if any of them dare to say something like “Roxette is over”, people would begin to write here stuff like “noooooooo, this just can’t be!” So why do you want them to say anything, if most of you will begin to complain if you don’t like what you read???

i am no-one to complain, to command... i recognize that i felt a bit upset, sad, with the interview,when i read it my hands quiverd with nerves, but i am happy because in the inerview you can read that she is healthy, so thats the best thing i could read.I have to tell you a secret, lol, whe she fell ill i wanted to do something to help her,obviously i can do nothing then i made a promise to god, i would quit smoking, ill try to be a better person, (i usually go jogging, i run now 10 kms everyday), well, when she fell ill i dedicate each kilometer to her, i proposed to god, i run everyday and you help her,i mean, i tried to be a better person, quit smoking... and ill run to be healthier and god turn marie to a healthy person, so time passed and now i can run 18 km and marie is much better, i quit smoking, i try to be a better person and i feel better thanks to marie and thanks to god. and i dont smoke any longer.
I know “that roxette is over now” well roxettes music will be always in my soul and in my heart.

The Little Marie thing was not intended as an “interview”. They were just a couple of comments Marie gave in a rush to a guy that brought her a present. The meeting must have been less than 1 minute, that’s all. There was no intention to interview her, so don’t take it so seriously.

WOW jalcorr, I’m impressed by you story (I mean jogging). Very touching. I also think Little Marie interview is very suspicios, I wouldn’t call this interview at all, it is… can’t even find the word for it, crappy English too. And Per in recent interview only said that there is no plans for Roxette, it doesn’t mean the end. Still I don’t understand why you want an official statement now, so little time have passed since the last Roxette release. And if P&M are not sure themselves about Roxette future so how could they tell us about it. Remerber that years when not only Roxette, but Marie’s life was in question, and there hadn’t been any official statement about Roxette and they came back later. So perhaps they don’t feel like releasing smth now and I think everyone should understand and respect it.

You will tell us the name of your spouse and the names of any children you have (provided you’re married and have kids, or single and have kids, whatever). You will tell us if you’ve suffered an accident or an injury, if it required a hospital stay or just a trip to the local pharmacy / apothecary. You will tell us your likes / dislikes, the names of your parents, siblings, relatives close to you or those you haven’t spoken to in years. You will report on every “insignificant” detail of your life and their lives as well. You will disclose any and all financial information to us as well. You will tell us where you went to elementary school, high school, university. You will tell us what kinds of grades you got, whether or not you failed any classes and had to retake them.

You will tell us about the trouble you got into in class and what punishments you received because of your actions. You OWE US this.

Now, do you see how unreasonable you’re being?

Per Gessle and Marie Fredriksson owe us NOTHING. I consider myself lucky and honoured to have been able to listen to their music. And as for them being “considerate”, what world are you living on? They’re not your friends / family. They’re not required to take your personal feelings into this in the least. You say you “think you’re not harming anyone”, yet a few folks have told you that you’re insensitive. And if the above paragraphs didn’t clue you in, I think so too.

I don’t know too many musicians who “consult” their fans just to find out if they should stay together, split, record another album, or take the ones they have and fling them like frizbees.

And that so called interview at LittleMarie’s? What a crock that is and will continue to be. That person’s lucky they didn’t get their head taken off and bounced down the road. If they’d done that to me... let’s just say that stalking charges would have likely been pressed (real or imagined).

Why do Roxette fans have to argue all the time? No wonder TDR is not what it used to be! It can get a little bit tiring reading arguements all the time. Yes, I know I don’t have to read them, but thats not the point.

I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again. If/When they release/record/decide to record/release a new album I’m sure we’ll have an announcment. As for knowing what they’re doing at the moment. I couldn’t give a shit! It’s nothing to do with me. I will just sit here and wait for any forthcoming announcment from any of them.

Maybe P&M have decided to call it a day because they are fed up of having fans which demand stuff all the time???

a-ha had a seven year gap between album releases from 1993-2000. They were essentially inactive as a group but never officially “broke up.” n*sync has never formally broken up as a group. i’m sure there are other examples out there if anyone would care to add.

I am in the “let’s see what happens, they don’t owe us #*&%” camp of fans but to be honest, i’m not sure why i am bothering to say anything at all.

I’m in the same boat as the both of ya! I miss Roxette so much. It’s only now I found out about the Rx Box and their new greatset hits album. I only got internet recently, so I had no idea Roxette are still goin’ strong in Sweden and the EU. I can only get their cds here in Oz, but no sign of their new singles on our radio. Their pretty dead here. I feel there are no morefans here but me! “snif!!” If there are any other Aussie fans readindg this, please email me but clickin’ my name above. I need to know I’m not the only one left here. Tack och vi ses!!

If it weren’t for TDR.. i’d say alot of the aussies that frequent here wouldn’t have known about the past 5 releases.
