CBB Cover and RUN TO YOU Question...

Hey!!

I want to ask a few questions - hope someone can answer them for me.

For years I’ve been wondering where Roxette got the idea for the blocks on the CBB album cover.
What does it mean and where did they get the idea?? It is inspired by the famous “racing flag”??

Then, the backing vocals to Run To You - does Per actually sing “everything that I want for you...”??

And on Sleeping In My Car, Per says something in the background in the second verse where Marie sings “so, come out tonight, I’ll take you for a ride...” - is he saying “dummer, guitar”??? He says it out loud on the Johannesburg concert. What is he really saying and what does it mean?

Hope someone can help me....

In RTY from what i can hear i’m sure it’s “everything that i do for you”.

In SIMC he’s just repeating the main vocal “come out tonight”.

I always loved the cover design & concept. Just looks really cool... dunno what else to say about it. I don’t think Rox have ever mentioned anything about where the idea came from?!

Rob - spot on!! I used to love those little bits that Per used to do in the background. They were missing from the newer Rox tracks. One day they may return.

The cover and design of the whole CBB project was amazing. It really stood out in the shops when it was around. Very bright, loud and Energetic. Kinda like Marie on stage then!! :-)

Hej! :-)

Well I remember that Per once said that the cover idea is from the album of Blondie “parallel lines”. If you look the cover of Blondie you will notice the little similiarites:

I was just looking in an old fanclub magazine where Per was quoted with:
“Now we wanted to to a cover with the style of the “Pet Shop Boys”. It became an quad archetype something like the “parallel lines” of Blondie. Exceptionally we didn‘t take any expensive trip.
We got the idea for the picture quite easy.”

I think, the CBB cover come from Tom Petty (like so many other gessle things). See the video:

I always loved the effect of Per’s voice in the background melting into Marie”s. Nice example is “I Don’t Want To Get Hurt”, probably one of the last ones where it happens. On HAND en RS there’s no such thing anymore (like many other things are missing there). Although “A Thing About You” is nice too.

They should have done it in “Reveal”, it would fit prefectly.

God you made me go and listen to CBB again, I’ve not played that in yonks.... WOW it was so fantastic... made me go happy again! Maybe Roxette does have a purpose!
