Roxette 20 Years to be featured on the Biography Channel (PT/ES)
sweepi said on May 18, 2007 00:06:
According to various TV guides here, and then at once the own website of the TV channel as well, a documentary on Roxette’s 20 Years is scheduled to air on the Biography Channel (at least the broadcast airing to Portugal and Spain, no idea whether this is in the agenda for any other country around Europe or elsewhere?) on coming Saturday, May 26th, at 18:00H, Portuguese time (GMT/UTC +1); 19:00H, Spanish time (GMT/UTC +2). Re-run on Sunday, May 27th, at 00:00H, 06:00H and 12:00H, Portuguese time; 01:00H, 07:00H and 13:00H, Spanish time.

The documentary, titled “Roxette 20 Years: The Great Journey”, is set for 30 min.; I’d guess it from here that it must be the same documentary that’s been aired by Swedish TV4 by the end of last year (one of the 2 parts/versions), probably?
Only “drawback” is that it’ll probably be dubbed, instead of subtitled, as mostly every program airing on the Biography Channel here. :-S (At least that’s how it usually goes for Portugal; don’t know whether it’s any different for Spain? Maybe Spanish fans will be luckier and get subtitles, who knows... :))
All in all, great to get to watch Roxette back on TV! :D

Hej Auryte! ;) Hmm, no, don’t think there’s the chance to watch their programs in their website. They do have, in the Multimedia section, some excerpts of some of their programs (videos linked in Google video) but that’s all; and then who knows if this coming documentary dedicated to Roxette will even ever get in there... Though then again, as I say, I can guess this will probably be the same from TV4... But anyways, on Saturday we’ll know. :P

Never heard of that channel. I hope someone can record the docu in good quality!

@ Sacha: That’s an international channel by cable/satellite airing to multiple countries (much like the Discovery Channel or National Geographic etc). (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biography_Channel) Each country gets different broadcasts/programs though, and as it seems, looks like really only Portugal and Spain will be getting this documentary on Roxette’s 20 Years... (Not that today it would be expectable that such would ever air in the USA’s or the UK’s Biography Channel anyway, of course. But perhaps also in Germany, at least, one might hope... But nope, even there, seems the Roxette docu isn’t in their schedule either... :-S)

We get The Biography Channel in Australia, i haven’t checked out the tvguide yet and there isn’t an australian version of the website. Although i really doubt it would be shown here especially if it’s going to be subtitled.

Howdy Rob, greets from the antipodes! ;) Well, there is a website for the Biography Channel Australia (http://www.biochannel.com.au). No Roxette to be found in their schedule either, though... :-S
But then as I say from the start, I bet this will be the same docu from TV4 last year, so, no, nothing “new or revealing” to be expected, I guess...
It’s really just the bit of thrill to get to watch Roxette back on TV here... :P (Though still I wonder, if it’s gonna be the docu from TV4, I wonder which “version” they’ll be showing; the one from Dec. 29, or the one from Dec. 31... Wish it’d be that from Dec. 31, as I myself never got to watch that one!!... :P Speaking of which, don’t mind me asking, but, has this “second” video ever surfaced online, anyone knows?... As later I’ve been offline for a couple months, I kinda lost track to that... :-S)

I am also looking for the version from December 31. On DVD or CD, it doesn’t matter. I can buy it if necessary (if it is not much expensive).
sweepi said on May 29, 2007 09:34:
So, as predicted, that’s been the documentary from TV4. And also, as predicted, so it’s been dubbed, bah... :-S
Good thing, at least, was that indeed it wasn’t the “version” from Dec. 29, the one showed, so I can only gather it was that from Dec. 31, which was cool to get to watch! :P Both are in fact basically and mostly the same, yet, at a glance, comparing it with the video we got online at the time, this was about 4/5 minutes lengthier, and, hmm, a couple scenes I don’t recall to have seen them in that previous video (maybe there’s others, but, these were those that most “stood out” to my eyes, at first sight): Per and Marie arriving to some TV show in this weird red mini-car, ahah; some clips from and about Roxette in China; Jonas Åkerlund commenting, while showing various scenes from the making of the video of “Anyone”... It checks, though, right? I mean, this additional content matches with that of the “version” from Dec. 31, it is that documentary, yes? Anyone who watched that before, and can please confirm?
One detail only, though: in that “version” from Dec. 31, does Per speak his parts on the interview in English?!... Couldn’t help to find this somewhat curious, as in the video from Dec. 29 he speaks his parts in Swedish; yet, in this “version” shown now on the Biography Channel, he did mostly speak in English; was it the same, on TV4? Marie’s few parts were all still in Swedish, however, Per’s were now spoken in English; at least everytime he appeared alone, or was speaking in the background; only when both Per and Marie would appear together in the same shot, then he would still be speaking in Swedish... Odd, or?... I can only guess that Per has maybe re-recorded his parts on the interview , for it to be done in English then?... *wondering* And yet this makes it even more of a pitty, that the documentary has been dubbed for the Biography Channel, baaah!!... :-S
