one favourite song...

When I listen to the song “Church of your heart”, I just melt. This song is THE Roxette song for me. This song has everything a Rox tune should have. I dont think that Mr Gessle has ever written any tune that is better than this. What is your oppinion of this tune???
(excuse me for my bad english...:)

I have always loved it! I wonder why they left it out of the Joyride LP (same happened to (I Could Never) Give You Up on Look Sharp!). The negative aspect of Church is the sleeve of the single. I never understood that ugly photo! The UK release features a nicer sleeve (the one of Per wearing sunglasses), but that pic doesn’t fit the song either.

I never have forgiven them that they chose COYH instead of DYGE as the sixth single - that’s all I say about that song. ;-)

I agree with Kiwein1. (Do You Get) Excited? should have been a single. And the video to it is better than to Church Of Your Heart. Anyway, I like this song :)

I don’t know what to think about Church of Your Heart. Sometimes I like the song and sometimes I hate it, it depends on my mood, I guess.
About (Do You Get) Excited? I think it’s one of the best Roxette songs.

I love “Church of your heart”, it’s one of my favourite Roxette songs. It’s quite simple and very Gessleish at the same time :D I also love “(Do you get) Excited?”. I think I cannot be very objective with any the songs from the Joyride album, because it’s my favourite one and the one which made me a fan.

I have always loved Church Of Your Heart. I think it’s a nice, simple pop tune that certainly doesn’t sound 15 years old!

Church of Your heart is very good but there are better ones...
I guess Paint is the best song for me lately

I think its impossible to pick just one Roxette song as a favorite. I think they’re all great. I really like Opportunity Nox, at least the video makes me like it enough to put it in my top 10 list.
I really like “I dont want to get hurt” too, but I think the spanish version is the best. It just sounds so much prettier in spanish than it does in english.
Room_service said on December 22, 2006 02:43:
The Spanish version of ““I dont want to get hurt” sucks big time! The lyrics are the worst I ever heard (maybe the worst Roxette song in Spanish).
Chorus:
“I wanna be like you, the same as you
no worse nor better, just like you
I wanna be like you, the same as you
I need to cross your sea, swimming ’till where you are”
Much prettier in Spanish, eh?

I don’t really like the album version of COYH but the unplugged version is just heartmelting! I think my alltime favourite song is either LTYH or QOR... Per should write more songs together with MP!
EmEx said on December 23, 2006 23:46:
Opportunity Nox doesnt even sound like a real Roxette song i think
definetly one of their weaker songs and gets boring real quik for me...my favorites seem to change every so often a year ago it was “Shadow of a Doubt” now i think “Paint” and “Chances” are definetly among the best of their songs..... IMHBL is good but apon repeated listening (and i mean over a hundred times or more) the true jewels shine true....kinda like the hidden masterpieces the more you listen to them the more you appreciate them.
And “Paint” live versions are just brilliant
EmEx said on December 23, 2006 23:50:
“Room_Service” if you understand spanish its bad otherwise who cares ;)
Room_service said on December 24, 2006 00:00:
Well, we don’t have to agree on everything. In my opinion, Opportunity Nox is brilliant - one of the best tracks they have released lately - while Chances sounds like a piece of 80’s rubbish. It was mistake to allow Adam Moseley to produce 3 tracks on Look Sharp, the only song he produced I like is Cry.
And it’s pretty clear the Spanish speaking community of Rox fans agree the Spanish lyrics are crap in most of the cases.
EmEx said on December 24, 2006 16:05:
I dont even like “Cry” useally skip it
who in the hell translated these songs to spanish anyways... i mean they sold millions back then and couldnt afford a good translation?
Room_service said on December 24, 2006 16:11:
It was a Spanish, well-reputed lyricist named Luis Gómez Escolar. I’ve read Roxette got an English translation of the Spanish lyrics, so they approved them. They need glasses, I suppose!
At least, the guy improved a lot in 1999, when he was back in the crime again, and translated 3 songs of HAND.
Angl_Tht_Rox84 said on December 28, 2006 04:04:
I wasn’t talking about the song in terms of translation Room-Service. All I said was I thought it sounded prettier when sung in spanish than in english.
I really like languages so anything sung in a language not my own is gonna sound cool to me.
I also like Silverblue. That song always gives me the chills.

how funny ’Church of your heart’ in my view, i have never been able to listern to it all the way through. ’Church of your heart’ has to be one of the worst english Metaphor’s i have ever heard. Its sucks, just doesnt fit on joyride at all. infact its horrid lol why mince me words.
