Can HAND be released in US?

Both HAND and RS should have done pretty well in the US with adequate promotion. Too bad, they had dysfunctional record companies.

Why don’t I believe these 2 albuns would work in the US?
Easy: music industry in the US being totally money-making obcessed and too much rnb and hiphop domination on the charts. The majority listen and buys to that crap that they consider their own “popular music”. And yes their music industry has the power to let european music industry make those act be popular here. Only some of them in my opinion do deserve that ... but when it comes to the other away around: forget it! It doesn’t work the same way in fact it doesn’t work at all.

For some time I remember in the 90s ... some european acts actually managed to allow one or two songs become hits in the US but more than that meant the END for those act stateside. Roxette was an example of an act that lasted about 4 or 5 years there of popularity but like any story their own had to meet its end sooner or later. US music market is very manipulative to the point of deciding what should stay or leave... Roxette had their chance back then ... and enjoyed #1. It was awsome. But ... almost 10 years later to try to comeback to that country, sell an album and re-gain popularity for me hasn’t got anything to do with what Roxette is as band today. They’re older and not fit to a younger audience of american listeners - they cannot recreate the same impact mainstream music in America has there. It’s just not Roxette and that is not wrong. The sad thing of all this - the music and its fair appreciation is put aside - money is what matters, being on top is what counts - being able to feed the indutry is what makes it all happen - but these days Roxette on US field is for me something out of purpouse - trying to recreate the past is impossible and trying to fit into the mainstream music there hasn’t one single thing to do with Roxette do musicallywise.

For me Roxette are wonderful as band with great music and that’s all they have to give - music - not a outraging performance with showoff and artificialities as today’s pop music shows. And that was how I got into Roxette, that was how I remained with Roxette and that is how I still remain with Roxette and that is how I will remain for as long as they continue to provide us with good substancial pop music.

However, I wish american fans to re-enjoy their past with their fav band with the release of Hits ... but wanting HAND and RS to be released there today makes no sence and is out of time ... great music indeead but no point in delievering it there now. I hope my judgments weren’t too severe nor misslined but at least I know I was honest with my statements ... Enjoy the music. :)

Both should have been released there for fans.

at their time both albums had a chance, right now they don’t. if roxette are still together 3-5 yrs from now when rap finally dies, and yes guys it is starting to die off just look at the billboard top 100 the last 2 months, then they can release soemthing, the thing with per and marie tho is it seems they are never available for us promotion, everything they do here is an afterthought

They should release it here in my opinion.
Then I would have a reason to actually listen to the radio.
But thats just me. I happen to love roxette, and it bugs me when I have to search and search to get copies of their music.

If Per please you read it(as I read on TDR that Per reads TDR) so would you consider releasing HAND or releasing a LP having best songs from HAND,RS,TBH,TPH...

Noooo! That would be one more COMPILATION! I thought we were tired of that.
