some dirty Per songwritting secrets
kixx said on January 3, 2002 10:08:
or “secrets that he keep away from us”
I will say it easy, there are a looots of songtitles very similars to some roxette songs or Per-acording to world-songs. of course first it was the others artists songs than Per’s. 1, 2, 3, 4, let’s start ( if you know more add it)
King of pain-Police/queen of rain
cinnamon girl-Lou Reed/Cinnamon street
Here comes the sun again-Eurythmics/here comes the weekend
Kicks-Lou Reed/ kix
Staring at the sun-U2/staring at the ground
and some more that now I can’t remember.
ahh! and yes, there is a song from the 60’s very-very-very similars to Anyone
But.. who cares, we love you Per!!!!!!!...
kachina008 said on January 3, 2002 10:13:
Here comes the RAIN again.
so the names sound similar. does that really mean anything?
pietROxette said on January 3, 2002 11:21:
“Staring At The Sun” from U2 is from their album “All That You Can’t Leave Behind”, wich was released in 2000; while “Staring At The Sun” is from Roxette’s 1999 album, “Have A Nice Day”.
:-O
etrejos said on January 3, 2002 12:55:
no, “Staring at the Sun” is from “Pop” so it was previous to HAND
...but is not really important.
BTW: Shakira’s new album is called “Laundry Service”, sounds familiar??
Gessle said on January 3, 2002 14:58:
And in Shakiras’s “Laundry Service”, there’s a song also named “Fool” !! :) Cool huh ? :)
Vixzter said on January 3, 2002 20:28:
Theres loads of songs with the same titles for god sakes.......Run To You by Bryan Adams being one of them.
Doesn’t mean someone stole them.
Katuska said on January 3, 2002 21:36:
Shakira’s new album is very good!!! I love her voice!
Look at Madonna’s Rain, and Roxette’s The Rain... Per wrote the song earlier, but it seems to me, that Madonna wanted not only the title....
Close2U said on January 3, 2002 22:09:
this is the most stupid topic i have ever seen! And believe me its the first time that I piss of someone else his/her topic!! Cos its not my style...
But you started it kixx...let’s go a bit further then:
Beautifull things/roxette —Beautifull day/ U2
Real Sugar/Roxette – I’m real/Jennifer Lopez
Queen of rain/roxette–Queen of my heart/Westlife
Dangerous/roxette–Dangerous/M.JAckson
Things will never be the same–roxette/ Never be the same–Mel C
So cut the crap....
Ferdan said on January 4, 2002 01:28:
Here comes the rain again/here comes the sun (beatles)
and there are millions of repeated titles... and/or seemed......
so cut the crap...
but with Staring at the sun-U2/staring at the ground
there’s something strange..... both songs have the same guitar effect and arrangement....... so i think Per was directly inspired in that song....
RoxiRoxt said on January 4, 2002 01:47:
and there was a song in the middle 90´s which was called: listen to your heart. but i can´t remember the name of the group. it was a techno-song!
PiterPam said on January 4, 2002 06:55:
Listen to your heartbeat. That was a swedish Pop-group, who performed at the Grand Prix de Eurovision, de Euro la de Vision, de la , de Chouancesdidddfgkj, you know. Stupid kidz like A*teens
-Gee- said on January 4, 2002 10:48:
Roxi: it was M.R. (short for Maggie Reilly) who gave out a album with dancefloor-remixes of her songs. the dancefloor remix sounds like if it’d be a rox-remix but the original song is included on the single - and COMPLETELY DIFFERENT to Rox’s LTYH!!!! :-)))) (got it so i know it *g*)
to kixx: sure u didn’t drink any alco or smoked anything weird?? ;)))
kixx said on January 5, 2002 08:24:
i was joking, how Prince got the **** to say “U got the Look” and super rox single “The look” are similars????????!!!
If they are only similars on the title, it’s crazy, so I thought let’s be crazy. That’s all. you know Per:”....no one I know could ever keep up with you..”
kixx said on January 5, 2002 08:27:
i don’t know Per got 1000000000 of songs, maybe the listen a title, he change it as he like it and wrote the lyrics and made the melody, or maybe i’m stupid thinking that or maybe I don’t care How Per compose ’cos onley I hope is next album got the most amazing roxette song ever. We deserve it!!!!!!!!!
PerAndren said on January 5, 2002 11:46:
There is really nothing special about this.
Gessle said in an interview once, that when they did the sleeve for “Pearls Of Passion” they found out that 10 of the 12 songtitels already existed. That says alot about this.
eBay said on March 29, 2006 13:25:
Look what I digged out here.. really made me laugh.. ;-) I must be bored today.. ha ha..
To add something to this meaningful discussion.. I am sure that every new song titel by just ’any’ group this year, will have existed already..
roxave said on March 29, 2006 14:15:
Byan Adams not only called one of his songs “Run to you”, he also called his last album “Room Service”.
And what about the Bon Jovi last album “Have a nice day”.
Coincidence? maybe.
The truth is out there.
I don´t know but if i would make an album first i would check if the name is already existing, at least in the last years, wouldn´t you?
There are a lot of songs with the same title, but i think it´s only chance.
gessle-addict said on March 29, 2006 23:41:
I see nothing bad in this topic...
How do you do! - The Beatles / How do you do! - Roxette
Majdy said on March 29, 2006 23:58:
I think those are purely coincidence, but still fun to read anyway :)
Sparvogamarie said on March 30, 2006 03:07:
It’s no secret that Per gets ideas from other artists. I have Tom Petty’s Greatest Hits on permanently in my car, and some songs I’m thinking sound suspiciously like GT songs...
Zargo said on March 30, 2006 03:46:
Listen to her heart/listen to your heart
Here comes my girl/ there is my baby
too good to be true/ for bra for at vara sant
a thing about you/ a thing about you
harriej said on March 30, 2006 17:58:
Per has mentioned a few times he likes Tom Petty, so if there are any similarities between Tom Petty and Per’s music, that’s not strange.
