In my search for Room Service live (see my previous post), I came accross this cool song....
Does anyone know where it came from? Era? Was it made for Roxette or solo?
I love it!!

Lyrics by Per Gessle:
En TVå tre. It was a rainy morning. The leaves fought a hard November. In a soft unguarded moment she jumped into my life. She had a blue umbrella with a top of silver. She wore a coat in shiny tangerine like the firy southern sky. Oh I, I wanted to show her, that I’d really like to get to know her, that I didn’t mind to spend some time. She turned at the bookstore, seemed to stop to buy a paper, I noticed from behind two trucks with engines roaring wild. When I made my crossing I saw that blue umbrella disappear into this crowded bus. I watched the red taillights. Oh I, I wanted to show her (I really wanted to show her), that I’d really like to get to know her, that I didn’t mind to spend some time. There are lonely nights when she disappears from my bed. I wish I knew what goes on in her head. What goes on in her head? Oh I, I wanted to show her (I really wanted to show her), that I’d really like to get to know her, that I didn’t mind to spend some time. I wanted to show her (I really wanted to show her) that I’d really like to get to know her, that I didn’t mind to spend some time. Spend some time. Spend some time. Tack för kaffet!

The demo remembers me Son of a Plumber. Gessle could have recovered the song for the SOAP album.

There’s a Blue Umbrella cover done by someone called Erik Sandberg. It’s not in high quality or stuff but I like it a lot. There’s even a link to download it... somewhere at this forum... for those who are interested.

Yea, really amazing, his voice sounds exactly like Per’s. I’ve heared the demo first. When I heared the original one lots of time later I was kinda disappointed. The demo is better imho.

About 96 wasn’t it?
Came out on one of ’The World According to Gessle’ singles, I think it was ’I Want you to Know.’
It is a lovely ballad... I’ll try to refrain from mentioning that it would have been nice to have seen it as part of the rox-box ;)
