Well, it’s a ten-years-old topic ... but, was “Hometown” full-length recorded anywhere? Is it possible to find it? Thanks!
**** “Hometown” *********************
Produced by Mikael Bolyos and Marie Fredriksson. Recorded by Mikael Bolyos at Vinden Studio, Djursholm, Sweden in 1996. Mixed by Mikael Bolyos and Marie Fredriksson. Vocals: Marie Fredriksson. Taken from the ’Sånt är livet’-movie.
Lyrics:
Going back to my hometown.
Isn’t it as I saw you.
God, will I know you?
Are you still a friend of mine?
Going back to my hometown...
I knew when I left you.
That we weren’t gonna talk for a while.
But god, how I missed you.
Each and every day
without your smile.
So feel what you gave me...
’Cause I’ll always remember...

...and don’t get you hopes up; Marie DOESN’T want to release this track commercially!

such a pity... one one hand would be nice to even get to hear the demo, as we’re being fed with Per-demos all the time and something from Marie would be nice for a change... on the other hand, I’d say it’d be even better to keep this song for a possible future album.
@purp; where did you hear Marie doesn’t want to release the song at all?

Hometown title sounds like Smastad or Pa promenad genom stan. Would be nice to hear it.

I’d like to see the film Hometown was written for (or in which ended up anyway) called ’Sånt är livet’ but I was never able to find it on dvd!

Good question, Rox_Nox. Perhaps we’ll see this song in the 30th Aniversary of Marie (solo) or in a Marie’s English hits and rarities album. Who knows

I read an interview, Marie said this song is “private.” I always thought that was weird. Why release a few seconds of a private song?? And why is it private anyway??? Marie can be a strange one, that’s for sure.

As many people here will be aware, the vast majority of Marie’s solo stuff sends me to sleep. I just don’t like it much. There’s a few songs on The Change which I like, but other than that, there isn’t much i like.
Now, Hometown, doesn’t sound much more lively to be honest. I do like Always The Last To Know, and Det Som var Nu is one of my fave Marie songs!

By the way, many of we, non-Swedish fans, are still looking for the way to listen to this song ... But this is another story. :( That’s the way it is!
Edit: I’ve seen there is a new topic about this song. We can go there:
