Bla Bla Bla Bla Bla (first time I hear it!)

I miss Fingertips on the RoxBox as a track. It´s on the DVD, but not on the CD´s. Fingertips ´93 would be great. Don´t know, why they left it out
Roxrider_USA said on November 3, 2006 01:51:
It did make into the Pop Hits in the EP cd. Althought the version on the EP (the final version) is not the same as the on on the RoxBox. The one onRox Box is the demo version, which in my opinion is much better. Nice arrangements!
Take care!

the one on the pop hits version is way better!! maries backing vocals and production make it alot better!!
Booho said on November 3, 2006 08:51:
hm, okay... but I don’t count the Pop Hits as an album (it’s a best of) and I didn’t buy it, so I didn’t know the song... I waited for something like the Roxbox to come ;)
Maybe I get to hear the Pop Hits version some day.
Maybe they will make concerts again in the far future and play it ;D

a song called bla bla bla is never a good thing lol. Not that fantastic at all. but we all like differenty things :-) so good for you .
chrisjankunas said on November 3, 2006 10:00:
On the contrary - A song called Bla Bla Bla Bla Bla grabs people’s attention - it did with people in my household - exactly the same as Crash! Boom! Bang!
Bla Bla Bla Bla Bla is definitely one of Rox’s better “Pop Hits” even if it was not a single. Speaking of which, I think the demo would be fine if it weren’t for those crashing pots and pans as someone described them.
Booho said on November 3, 2006 10:20:
I love the sound of crashing pots! :)
No really.. I think it’s quite interesting... a song lives also from surprising elements... like this sound :D
alcibiades said on November 3, 2006 11:29:
I must say, that for me also, the POP version is much better. Maries backing vocals deffinitely adds a layer that lifts this song to a higher level!
Funny thing about it, really, when I first bought Pop Hits, I was really dissapointed with the EP. I *loved* the Ballad Hits EP (Every Day - omg, that’s like one of their best songs ever!), but then, a couple of months back, I came across Bla Bla Bla, and I started to really like it. And that song just keeps growing on me! And I must say, the fact that you can actually make a song with the lyrics “It all Bla Bla Bla Bla Bla, you broke my heart, so many times” captures the essence of what’s so lovely, delighting, endearing, funny, and wonderfull about Roxette!

Pop version is best but i agree this is one of my fave songs! Tis fab.
Rox_Nox2003 said on November 3, 2006 12:26:
We’re still floating nostalgia using CBB LOOL ... Well at least a song from the RS era that is making people go “hey” instead of the persitant complaning ... nice for a change. Not one of my favs very depressive melodicallywise, I wish it had a much more intense kick. But great on arrangments and sound production ... Just hate the title LOL Typical Per I know but ... not my cup of tea.
mareo said on November 3, 2006 14:20:
Here’s another huge fan of that song... Even in its finished version it sounds like the “old” (non-techno) Roxette. Great song & great to have in its demo version too.
Rox_Nox2003 said on November 3, 2006 14:55:
Since when have Rox ever been techno in any way? Syth sounds okey but being techno that’s a bit too much...
Wicf said on November 3, 2006 16:09:
The song is great, but the part, when Per sings “bla bla...” with only the acoustic guitar in backround, sucks big time
Zargo said on November 3, 2006 16:46:
Personally I’d have preferred ’Making Love to You’ to appear in the box... the only one from the pop hits ep that didn’t :(
It’s a magical song...
Rox_Nox2003 said on November 3, 2006 17:50:
Totally agree “Making Love To You” is an awsome song love it and prefer it to Bla Bla Bla...
Booho said on November 3, 2006 18:40:
I love especially Per singing the bla’s with the guitars :)
And about the “new” Roxette...
I have nothing against synths, I play them myselves, but against the way Roxette use them.
It’s this high mono-lead-candylike sound that we in german would describe as “Tüdelüdelüü” that sucks big time... like the one from the beginnings of Little Girl, One Wish, Stars, and so on... it’s that candy sort of synth. And this drum machine beat..... can’t they use real drums anymore?
Another thing that disturbs me is that if Marie sings a song and Per sings only a couple of lines, then the voice is somewhat distorted or has “flanger” or some compressor effect on it.... and other way round... this is annoying! Know what I mean??
Otherwise... there are possibilities to use quite nasty and dark synth bass sounds as well... wish Roxette would go for them instead and otherwise - if they come back again and I think they will in some way - bring back that lively natural powersound from the Tourism/CBB-days.
christian said on November 3, 2006 19:05:
the worst rox song ever, so far in my opinion. Has Per been drinking beer in this song... lol
Rox_Nox2003 said on November 3, 2006 21:39:
Yeah probably, after all ...bring the bear, the sun is out after all these must mean something LOL
Rox_Nox2003 said on November 3, 2006 21:46:
Bring the baloons and the ice creams ... Per will be more than happy LOL :)
whateveriam said on November 3, 2006 21:58:
Yeah, I’ll get the helium canister ready, and start practising doing the balloon animals...although I can do a mean witches hat...
BTW, I’ve never heard it, so I’m off to track a 2 disc copy of TPH...fingers crossed
Baby-C said on November 3, 2006 22:23:
I’m not entirelly sure if I remember right, but I do seem to have a memory of Per and MP playing this song in the old T&A studio when me and a couple of other girls was there. Outside ofcourse, though our ears where big as ballons trying to hear the music through one of the windows. And one thing I am sure I heard was Per singing a lot of bla bla bla. At the time, ww ofcourse thought he did that since he didn’t have the lyrics ready yet, but now I’m begining to think that it was the real lyrics we heard.
Anyways.. it is a sad song, but that’s what’s making it so good I think. Not all songs have to be bright and positive.
EDIT: He didn’t seem drunk when we met him outside the studio that day.. :) Ofcourse, I don’t know what he and MP did in there besides making music hahahaha. Only joking!

Great song, along with most of the ones on the EP’s.
I have to agree about the comment with Per singing “bla bla...” with only the guitar backing, it makes me cringe a little. But apart from that it’s a really nice song, and i love the lyrics.
Interesting that Making Love To You was the only one that wasn’t included in the box, as Zargo said - it’s a magical song.
Room_service said on November 4, 2006 06:55:
The weakest song on TBH/TPH EP’s was “Makin’ Love To You”. What a boring song, even the chorus is quite poor (makin’ love... to youuuuu). It deserved to be the only song excluded in the Rox-Box.
Booho said on November 4, 2006 09:19:
Great story about T&A above :)))
Hm, never heard Makin Love To You...
kielroxer said on November 4, 2006 09:20:
boho, you are totally right. the song has that perfect rox-sound. guitar pop at its best. and pers voice sounds cool, what cannot be said about every demo...
lovely powerpop.

When I heard BBBBB(YBMH) for the first time, I had this great feeling that the eath stands still, you know..... I had it the last time when I heard Run To You for the first time back in 94 ... the lines with “all the people come and go...”. Whattt a feeling!
Zargo said on November 4, 2006 14:01:
@chrisjankunas - Funny you should say that, because I just came back to correct myself... stupid me forgot all about ’Stupid!’
alcibiades said on November 4, 2006 14:46:
Strange. I also thought Making Love was the only one left off, but now when I check it, I see Stupid isn’t there. Well, that’s really ... ehm, stupid ... It’s an awesome song, I don’t understand why they didn’t include all 8 EP tracks.
Rox_Nox2003 said on November 5, 2006 02:43:
Because THEY can’t include all the songs that we wanna hear ... otherwise what would be the purpouse of having a roxbox with all the zillions of songs they have recorded up till now just to make sure every single person and crocodile in the swap get their treat... I don’t have Making Love To You nor Crush On You 2 personal favourites but still like to hear what’s on the Roxbox... basically that’s it. Some material is not included but anyway we can listen to it cause it was released on prior material we all have ... why repeating that too besides what is already being repeated?
Booho said on November 2, 2006 23:46:
OMG... this is one of the BEST Roxette songs I heard since the CBB days!!!!
How come it didn’t make it on any album? It should have been a single even!!! I’m happy and a bit angry at the same time :-)
THIS is Roxette. Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
