Is there a place we can order the RoxBox and it (the DVD with videos) will workor be compatible to our players in the USA??
rsox70 said on October 4, 2006 05:58:
forgive me if this sounds ignorant, but what does Russia have to do with a US release and DVD compatability???

Russia used to have SECAM system, and apparently they turned to PAL. Argentina is going to release the Rox-Box and I am pretty sure the DVD will be NTSC.

rsox just a hint alot of video cards for pc’s npw allow you to hook your pc up to your television eliminating the nedd to worry about dvd coding period. If you are that intent in getting an ntsc version wait till next year and see if the box comes out here in the usa. I wouldn’t wait so I went and ordered it....it all depends on how patient you are...i am not lol btw lol new jersey here :)

It is possible to play DVDs from other regions, if you have a multi-regional DVD player.
There are “hacks” you can use to make your DVD region free. (it’s just a code you enter)
Also, some computer DVD-roms will give you the option to switch the Region.

I’m 99.5% sure that this DVD will be region 0=free.

I will wait some more time. I guess that by november we should have a clearer idea about the US release situation.
Take care!

PAL & NTSC are two different formats for TV [DVD] Broadcasts.
NTSC is used in North America & Japan, PAL Europe, Australia.

Pal DVDs will play on the DVDs in USA. I have the All videos and more DVD, region 0 (PAL DVD) and it plays fine in my DVD players.
However, if it is not in region 1 or 0, then you will have to play it on a computer to watch or get a worldwide DVD player

I just saw on amazon.com that it is a PAL DVD region 0:
“Strictly limited edition five disc (four CDs + PAL/Region 0 DVD) long-form box set released to celebrate Swedish Pop duo Roxette’s 20th anniversary. The RoxBox is a special treat for fans who thought they had everything! The four CDs feature 76 tracks including all the hit singles, key album cuts, rare recordings, demos, unreleased tracks and two brand new songs. The DVD is a three hour RoxFest including all of their videos, the complete Roxette MTV Unplugged performance and more. This is more than a boxset...it’s a Roxetteboxset! EMI. 2006.”
So definately you will be able to play it on your DVD :D
