Hi,

I have come across the greatest hits (standard and cd/dvd) on chaos.com

They show a release date of 23/10/06.

One Wish is also listed but as an import.

Nothing about the box though.

The greatest hits standard and cd/dvd are also available at cd wow with free postage but I would prefer to buy the Australian release. No mention of OW or box though.

the chaos.com dates look odd. the release dates of box and greatest hits cd and cd/dvd are staggered:

normal CD: 16/10/06
CD/DVD: 23/10/06
box: 30/10/06

i think the european release date is 16/10/06.

I’m happy with the price of the RoxBox, $71.35.

Interesting that the price is so cheap, $18 for the single disc and $28 for the CD/DVD.

$71 for 5discs isn’t that bad, even though 3/4 of it is stuff that we already have. If it’s all remastered and of decent quality, then yes i’m more than happy with the price.

I would’ve paid $35 for MTV Unplugged alone, so it’s not that much of a stretch for some unreleased tracks etc.

Sanity and HMV both now have the Deluxe edition with the DVD.

And EMI still have no info on their website?!

Brent, i’m assuming the staggered release might have something to do with the fact that the single disc is being produced here in Aus, while the others are imports, as Dave mentioned in another post a while back.

I could be wrong though, it might be EMI playing games. Everyone buys the single disc, by the time the others are released, no one cares about them. EMI says, well Roxette don’t sell.... better drop them!

About time EMI updated the website. They could’ve done a decent job though. Still no updated biography, discography, new pics, or even all the releases! Interesting that the Label is listed as EMI SWEDEN, all the others just had EMI :-S

After checking a couple of stores today I am certainly not willing to place any bets. Not sure what is going on but I couldn’t find anything nor any word of anything from store staff.

Received my copy in the mail today. I also visited HMV today and found it there (priced at $16.99). I found it in the R section and also on the end of an aisle with a few other greatest hits CDs.

I bought the standard “HITS” today. Found it under “Roxette” section in the stands at my local.

When I took it to the counter the gal said “oooh I love Roxette”

I smiled and thought “yeah where were ya in 1999 you fat tart? Or when we needed to push Room Service you band wagoner!”

Instead I smiled and said “yeah they’re ok” :)

So in conclusion: fat tart :-p

EMI now have the Rox Box listed a 6th Nov release?

This is extremely confusing and frustrating. Point blank; what is the easiest and quickest way for an Aussie fan to get the Rox Box ASAP? I don’t care how much I pay for shipping etc...so please anyone with advise it would be much appreciated?

Watching late nite / early morning TV in Oz last night I saw an add for the Hits CD. It was about 12.30am on Chanel 10 and a 15 sec ad came on advertising Greatest hits relaeases for Emi artists - The Beatles, Queen, Robbie Williams, Roxette and someone else (can’t remember who - who cares really). Basically the announcer rattled off the names of the artists and the album covers were shown (for less thatn one second) and then they were scrolled across the top of the screen as the annnouncer said sthing like ’the greatest gift this Christmas’. So keep an eye out for it.

Roxwriter, Im in WA. Our stores are shipping the Roxbox in from the east to be on shelves Saturday. But the very worst I was told, a 1 or 2 day wait if doesnt arrive in time due to the shipping.
Sydney stores should no doubt have it in stores Saturday.

No no tracks from the albums, just mentions the artists and shows a brief picture of the album covers. Roxette is the second last one mentioned (from memory). The ad literally only goes for about 15 seconds.

Anywho, so I checked JBHifi today and found 2 copies of the Roxbox. I was SO in the mood to buy something, but still could not bring myself to pay $68.95 for a big box of stuff I already have. I read the tracklist and almost fell asleep right there in JB. So I bought Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and White Chicks instead. I so wanted to buy something Roxish, since the last Roxette thing I bought in a shop was Room Service. I looked for the single, but they didn’t have it of course. Interesting side fact, HMV and Sanity no longer stock singles, since everyone downloads them. So the single is just about dead.

RobS: Wow! One Wish on Rage! I’d have recorded it if I knew, I’ve only ever seen it on my stupid computer with a way-too-dark screen! Do they give the list ahead of time so we can see it next week?

I went to JB’s today and got my copy. I love the booklet! Haven’t had a chance to read it but I did skim through it and read that part about RS feeling uninspired I couldn’t agree with Per more. Some good songs but over it has no feel.

I wonder if that will be the last time we can go into a record store and buy something on Roxette?! I hope not, like Sparvogamarie I haven’t done that since RS came out and that was 5 years ago!!

So it looks like there’s about 6 copies sold so far :-P

About RAGE, i believe they put up the playlist the night before. But as with the last few singles, i’m guessing it’s going to be played once and you’ll never see it again... unless something really amazing happens and the single is released and people buy it.

Has anyone been watching Video Hits? VH has always been pretty loyal to Rox, even Stars got a few spins there. But I don’t know if they play unreleased singles.

Further news on singles: apparently almost nobody will stock singles because of downloading, and the stores are pushing for the price of singles to come down to $2 or $3 since a legal download is around $1.50. But the record co’s want to charge $7 and nobody will pay it. So I’m wondering actually, why not release One Wish via download single and see if it gets any success that way? I mean, they won’t lose money producing a CD that doesn’t sell?

Good news tho, I got my Rox Box today and am currently checking it out. So far I love it...I don’t regret buying it. Its been a very enjoyable trip down memory lane so far, Ive fallen in love again with a heap of songs I havent heard in ages and some I have never heard before.

I recommend any true Rox fan buys the box - you wont be disappointed - Im not.

Also I saw the “Best of the Best” ad on Channel 10 again during Futurama (7.00pm-7.30pm) last nite or the nite b4 (can’t member!)

I was a bit hesitant at buying it at first, but then I thought I’d forgot about what I already have and look at what I don’t have in the box and I guess in my eyes I could justify spending the $70 odd dollars on the box. Of course i would have liked it to be about $20 cheaper, but i ve got it now, its over and done with and im happy. Like I guess you were with Marie’s box set. I’d prolly buy that if it was cheap enuff - I love Marie’s work but the whole Swedish thing is a bit of a barrier for me.

Marie’s box was a little different, ok it was only her 5 albums rereleased with a few extra trax and pics. But at least with that I could always sell the originals and just have the new versions (I didn’t cos most of my originals are signed.) But the box is a kind of mixed up greatest hits with a few demos I’ve heard before. With Marie’s I hadn’t heard several of the songs. And more importantly, her box was pretty!! The Roxbox isn’t pretty!

Scans of Marie’s box...erm....I’m sure I have some somewhere...in the meantime, try searching Karlekens Guld on Ebay, there might be scans on there. The cover is pix of Marie from about 1996, really pretty ones with a leafy green background that you’ve almost certainly seen before. I think the FC had them in a review once.

I’m in Sydney at the moment. I was quite surprised to see that HMV in Parramatta had 2 copies of the Hits and 1 of the Deluxe version and a copy of all the other albums except Tourism and CBB. Couldn’t see the RoxBox anywhere though.

I have seen the Box at all the JB’s I’ve been to and they all seem to have 2 copies! I’m really enjoying the trip down memory lane with the box I’ve only managed to listen to the first cd but still loving it! MTV Unplugged is great also, loooooved FLAF, pity they didn’t include Clarence’s mistake ;) I still can’t get over Per’s hair it is hideous!!! What was he thinking?! And shame on Marie for not being honest with him that it looks CRAP!!! It’s just so hard to watch and not laugh!

I think the hairstyles and clothes of the people in the crowd are even worse. Those extra tracks are awesome! Otherside of the dvd is in extremely poor blocky quality in parts. Bonus tracks are cool on the cds.

pwb: She was pregnant during the concert, might explain why she wasn’t terribly energetic. You can definitely see a difference in her during the concert and interview. She was very self conscious of her pregnancy, she said once she’s not one of those stars who shows of her belly. That might be why she seems sad!

Has anyone else noticed the couple and their ’friends’ sitting in the audience behind Per, who seem more interested in each other, pulling faces and generally looking bored out of their brains while wishing they were anywhere else but there? Check out HCTW and SYWBARnRS.

Marie was very funny about her belly, she wore enormous tops so you couldnt’ see anything. She said it was private. That’s our Marie!

Hi all,
Got my roxbox this week and have really been enjoying it. Watched the MTV Unplugged DVD last night, then turned it over to put on some of the video hits, and was horrified to see the picture quality, especially on the newer songs, milk and toast and honey is nothing but pixilated squares all over. Very disappointing. So if you are thinking of buying the roxbox for the video’s DONT. If however you look past that, i think its fantastic. Just hope Roxette will release a new album with all new material very soon.

I agree jasper, the quality of the dvd is rather appalling in places which does ruin the overall feel of the content, but I am glad I have it, I can’t stop watching unplugged, I just love it, esp. SMT and Surrender! I just hope that any future DVD releases will be actual DVD quality - I expect to get what I pay for.
