why not the old band for rox20?

imagine: the band from the really good old days would have reunited for the rox20...
jonas on guitars, alsing on drums, anders on bass, mp in between...i think this would have been a good idea for rox 20. and i imagine how one wish would sound with a production like in the early 90´...
i wonder why per and marie havent had such thoughts...
i mean, i like ow, but i guess much more people here around would love it with a sound like sleeping in my car...
what do you think?

That would be great... Personally I dont like Christopher Lundquist at all....

Would have been nice to get the early 90’s band back!

The CBB tour band will would be the best!!!!

@RJ1976 : I second that!! ;o)

Yeah, we want ANDERS HERRLIN back!!!

Yes we do!! :-))

lol i just want vicki back so we can have some more organic sounding backing vocals sometimes heck yeah i do miss their band sound

I liked vicky to... Hijacking –> *LOL* What she’s upto know ?

C. Lundquist I really really dont like... And he is not that good... and he’s damn ugly :) *LOL*

You have to remember that Roxette is technically Marie Fredricksen and Per Gessle and not the others that you have mentioned above. Per, I think, has always been a “project” man in the back of his mind. He’s added some new faces to his “band” and sometimes you get even more creative as a musician when you work w/ other musicians like Christopher L. I think he did a tremendous job on HAND and especially the bass line on WICF. Again, everyone is entitled to their own opinions but, to a creative stand point, I thnk Per has made the right decisions when using others and keeping “old” friends. Jonas is a great guitartist for Roxette. You really can’t compare him to any other guitarist (such as Eddie Van Halen or Steve Ray Vaughan) No, Christopher is not the next “Flea” of the RHCPeppers but he has managed to make his mark beautifully in Per’s “band”. I think the most important person that gets little notice is in fact Clarence Ofwerman. He is the “real” genius behind Roxette. He is so creative and puts so much energy behind Roxette it’s in a way undescribable. He’s the one turning those nobs in the recording studio and making those wonder singles. Yes, Per’s idea but Clarence takes it 10 times further. I wouldn’t want the band from LS or even Joyride. Why live in the past and want the same old music. Roxette has “aged” very well over the years musically. When COY came out a lot of fans disliked it. When I heard it it was so “refreshing” to my ears. I don’t ever want to hear another IMHBL or LTYH because that means the band it going backwards and not forward. That’s not what we truly want, is it??? Peace.

Even though all songs come from Pers hand, “The Band” is a big part of the end product... And Therefor CL is the absolute wrong guy... He’s just not that talented... *Sorry* MY Oppinion... And it seems Im right, cos ever since “those days” and now they hadnt had a “real” hit.... With Roxette !

I think Christopher adds some modern spirit and new ideas to the Rox sound. That’s why I like him.

As to the band, Per once pointed out that he saw Rox as the whole band with two front guys. Obviously MP, Clarence and Jonas are vital parts, each in his own way.

The drummer on tour always used to be Pelle, or am I mistaken? Who was that 2nd guitar player on C!B!B! tour? Micke “Nord”? I was pretty impressed with the arrangement then. Two guitars, two drumsets, but no female backing voice (which i regretted because of the imbalance). Speaking of bass players, I don’t care whether Anders or Christopher. I cannot really hear a difference. Obviously, the GT guy is more popular amongst the girls.

So, for me it could be: Per (voc, fake guitar), Marie (voc), Jonas (guitar), Christopher (bass), Pelle (drums), Clarence (keyb), MP (everything), Vicky (backing voc)

A dream of course. Will never happen. And - they’re not getting younger altogether.

I have never been convinced by the tone of Christoffer’s bass, he’s style of playing is too much on the higher frets... and his tone is too bright.. so the bass begins to lack depth.. and instead of being bass it´s another thing. At least that was a few years ago, I didn´t notice the same on Mazarin and newer stuff. but anyway, im just talking out of my....
and about WICF, the main bass line was composed by Per.. and the beautiful arrangement in the bass right before the DJ sounding part was Jonas’ idea.
Lundquist is a great musician, amazing. But when it comes to bass, I preffer Anders.
Although I must admit Anders never made in Roxette a bassline as good as he used to do in Gyllene Tider.

Hm, seems I gotta reconsider. I never put to much attention to the bass guitar, it was just an additional instrument for me to make the sound complete or thicker.

Although Roxette is technically Per and Marie the old band members have probably gone on and are doing other things now - might not be as easy for them to drop what they are doing and come back for a reunion.

why this might be a problem? i think the recordings of the two songs took three days. should have been no problem to find three days that fit to five or six people. but has per ever told us anything why he changed the whole band that days?

Didn’t Per mention in an interview around the Have A Nice Day album that they were working with new people to see what kind of sound they could get? I think I remember reading this from somewhere.

Maybe the old band members didn’t want to come back maybe they are happy just being with their families and working their new jobs whatever that may be?
