Asking you questions is over!

Hello!
The time when EMI was answering to your question is over! I talked with EMI germany today and they really don’ t nothing about promotion dates, releases etc. from the upcoming Roxette release! They know NOTHING. The only way for us is the internet and this homepage to get some informations. this is really a disappointing!
They don´t care anymore about Roxette. I´m sure they also don´t care if the single will be a flop or not!
They have some other acts which are more important for them!

It’s dissapointing that some branches of EMI can’t be bothered with Roxette - EMI Australia doesn’t really promote them either. They just release an album or if we’re lucky a single but absoultely no promotion here. Not since really 1995 when the first greatest hits was released.

I don’t like rudebox by Robbie Williams - is he running out of ideas?
gyllene_tjej said on September 15, 2006 14:07:
don’t worry, EMI is like the same in every country. Our Rox forum has been bombarding them with mails as well - they’re deaf to our questions :D
(Regarding Rudebox - it seems you can either love or hate it. It’s so unlike Robbie that I’m not keen on it at all)

Should Rox change to another label?
Or did NODODY care about Roxette anymore?
Very sad for us!

I think it is even sadder for them...but we’ve been throygh this before.

Well, every artist for them is only a PRODUCT and we are only the ones who shall spend money..nothing more...right now it’s Mr. Williams who is filling their bags with millions. Why caring about an “old” band from cold Sweden? Well..2001 is already long ago..there I talked to very friendly EMI-people..maybe they already lost their jobs?
AT LEAST..EMI GERMANY updated their website..applause applause!!!

I didn’t get an answer from EMI Germany as well as to my email regarding Roxette and the new releases.
Is there really no better music company than EMI/Capitol for Roxette? They ain’t doing anything to promote P&M, so things can actually not get worse.

Let me tell you this. I have made a simular experience in the movie/TV industry. As soon as a show, or in this case a music artist isn’t addressing the young audience anymore, it starts to get uninteresting. If the artist or her/ his manager is fearless enough, they give him or her a totaly new image that attracts teenagers. That of course can have the effect of scaring away commited and long term fans. But believe me those bosses up in their trendy offices, with their 5th wife and 20 cars do not care about commited fans. They do care about money and sadly but true teenagers do have the most money and they spend it.

@Inga: “true teenagers do have the most money and they spend it”.
I think you are missing some explanation for this. Because said as you put it, it’s kind of false. Otherwise why are there student and youth discounts at all? And why can’t most young people get a well-paid job? You’re missing the point completely.
Let’s explain what you tried to and couldn’t:
1. Youngsters do ask for a lot of money to their parents.
2. Today’s parents are afraid to say no, some times.
3. Youngsters are easily lead into buying stuff they do not need.
4. As we see here, it’s easy if you feed them a bit to make those youngsters into long term addicted buyers of an icon (namely “die hard fans”).

What did you expect? Rudebox by Robbie Williams will be released on the same day as the GH and the RoxBox, so guess where their priorities are... *rolls eyes*
