Myth, a question?
ally77 said on September 11, 2006 20:27:
Does anyone know when this was actually written?
Perhaps also as to why it didn’t make an album as it’s so good!
Santi said on September 11, 2006 20:28:
Off-topic though: Ally, are you trying to wash the grey threads away from the 1st page? :D

yes OW is so catchy our fingers couldn’t stop dancing on the mouse-key ;)
Re. Mtyh: It somehow reminds me of Crazy about you - the way Marie sings it..

Ahh, ta Judith, couldn’t work out what it reminded me of...
IV_ROX said on September 11, 2006 20:51:
Am I the only one who thinks the song is not so special, not at all actually? Too much expectations I guess...On the other hand OW is really catchy, I’m not gonna talk about lyrics.

For me it sounds like out-take from Crah! Boom! Bang! days... For sure it was recorded long before ’99 :D
ncurran said on September 11, 2006 20:53:
IV_ROX, ive been too excited by OW and Reveal to pay it much attention so far, but have listened to it a couple of times and agree that it is nothing special....an alright song, but not as good as it is being made out to be. Of course that is just my opinion.
Vixzter said on September 11, 2006 20:55:
cos the lyrics are about green tangerines and after all its only a demo and not a completed song like one wish
tomos85 said on September 11, 2006 20:59:
@ to all
I’ve got the question - why ’Myth’ was such a mythical song?
Where did Per say about this song for the very 1st time and why all fans wanted to have it (okey, the 2nd question is understandable hehe)?
I was always curious about it... ;)
Sascha said on September 11, 2006 20:59:
It should have been written 93/94 according to the CBB tourbook.
m-cvk said on September 11, 2006 20:59:
the first time I heard about Myth was in 1994/1995. The title was mentioned in the C!B!B! tour book :-)
TyroneKnight said on September 11, 2006 21:03:
Hey! Am I wrong, or wasn’t this the second co-written song with Desmond Child?
Can someone answer that?
Santi said on September 11, 2006 21:04:
I don’t think the demo is recorded much earlier than 95. Because the sound quality is very good and back in 91/92 demos really sucked.
Besides, I don’t really believe is a demo, it’s very well worked, even the drums are real drums. Not like in other demos we’ve heard from those “early” days like Seduce me for example, or the demos to the songs that made the album (Like June Afternoon).
I do believe is an “early outtake”, because is recorded like to make an album but they decided not to waste time in too many backing vocals, and so we can only hear Marie.
Santi said on September 11, 2006 21:06:
The other co-written with Child I think is called “Only You” and Per says it sucks because sounds like a bad ballad of Bon Jovi :P
Sascha said on September 11, 2006 21:09:
Maybe they recorded it for HAND. But it was already mentioned in the CBB tourbook as an upcoming song, together with June Afternoon and T-T-T Take It! Per told us lately that Marie wrote the music, he did the lyrics.
tomos85 said on September 11, 2006 21:09:
What was written in CBB tour book? I’ve never seen it ;-) Is there any page with scans of this publication...
Ow, I see... Forthcoming songs :D T-t-t Take It? :D So does Roxette version exist? :D
denny said on September 11, 2006 23:29:
Marie wrote the music? wow. I love this song! And it doesn’t sound like just demo. Maybe they recorded it now, for the box?
So far, it sounds much better than OW or Reveal. I guess it’s because it’s older hehe. I’m into old Rox sound. But that might change of course.

I don’t know what the big deal is about myth cause it reminds me of a dry slice of bread. The songs’ vibe stays the same for the whole 4+ minutes NO CHANGES. and the melody is not even that strong...
I would have left if off the album as well
coyboyusa said on September 13, 2006 14:25:
the music dont fit the lyrics and it really does soud like a crazy about you clone but crazy about you was awesome myth is horrible :(
Strest said on September 13, 2006 14:46:
It feels like a Shania Twain-song and she’s not one of my fav’s :P
pro_roxette_movement said on September 13, 2006 15:28:
I’m sorry - you’re starting threads and asking questions about Myth a song you have got perhaps and shouldn’t have?
Once again thank you for spoiling it for us REAL FANS who have more respect for Roxette and did not participate in the stupidity that occurred on this site the other day.
Hope you are satisfied with yourself!
whateveriam said on September 13, 2006 15:31:
Every time you reply, I feel more obliged to not buy anything at all.
pro_roxette_movement said on September 13, 2006 15:35:
Don’t buy them then, if you are one of those “people” you will already have the songs obviously and you weren’t going to buy it anyway.
I really don’t think Roxette give a shit about “people” who don’t do the right thing anyway and would probably prefer they piss off.
roxing-doctor said on September 13, 2006 21:32:
is it for downloading the songs or something else mister pro_roxette_movement i just don’t get all these mad people why are we fighting
just love myth have it for such long long time now got it from marie long time ago she proberbly has forgoten it though
but i love the song
make love not war
Majdy said on September 13, 2006 21:46:
To me, Myth sounds like Sheryl Crow song :)
I agree with Santi that this song doesn’t sound like a demo at all. I’m not musician, but I heard some of other Roxette’s demo, and this one just sound so different with the others, it sound like it’s ready to put in the album...
By the way, is that true that Marie wrote the music, can someone confirm this with a trustworthy source? if it’s true, then I must said that I’m just sssooo proud of her :)
gyllene_tjej said on September 13, 2006 22:43:
@pro: rephrasePer’s advice: if you don’t like it (the thread), don’t read it! I still haven’t heard the song though...and I’m really excited about it! I like your comments about it being C!B!B! like, sounds promising!
gyllene_tjej said on September 13, 2006 22:48:
Coolies! the waiting is really torturing me. But soon...
tavo said on September 14, 2006 20:38:
@Majdy can´t agree more with you! i also thought it was a sheryl crow song when i first heard it. probably “anything but down”.
japeke said on September 14, 2006 20:41:
@coyboyusa (and others :-) :
indeed, the music doesn’t fit the lyrics, maybe that’s because one of the two were written years later (already after we knew about the existence of song)
I read that in an interview with Per...
lan98035 said on September 16, 2006 08:33:
Citate from the C!B!B! tour book:
“”By the time you read this, those songs are history for Per Gessle anyway. He has spent the better part of the hot summer 1994 in his demo studio, recording new songs like >>MythT-T-T-Take It!June AfternoonJune AfternoonSommartider<<, he says.”

cos its about green tangerines and monkeys swinging in trees thats the only logical explanation for it
