PER support

Hey guys, very hash words have gotten the better part of this forum lately, bad vibes!
I think we should do something

I can understand that the change of plans have put a lot of you in a bad mood and made you verbally very agressive towards Per.
But it’s not nice.. he took the time to explain himself and I don’t see any reason for him to appologize to anyone.
In several posts I read things like; arrogance has gotten the better part of him, he becomes bitter and things like that.
So, to give the man backup, I’d like to ask anyone who feels sad over the big flaming towards Per to put a (preferably short) nice comment in this thread to tell him he’s not standing on his own in this matter.
I am certain that it’s very important to him to read and be sure there are people supporting him.
Thanks guys!

**A little note for the moderators: is it possible some of you guys keep an eye on this post, so it won’t get spammed with angry messages? Thanks for that!
We indeed should take this very seriously! Big thanks for your cooperation.

So here I go: Don’t let it get to you man, I still think you’re a genius!!

I look forward to almost ANYTHING Roxette puts out - I’m looking forawrd to the RoxBox ;)

I really hope this thread will be on top of the discussion forum for some time. Per deserves to know what he did isn’t unforgivable.

YEA!! That’s the spirit! BIG thanks to:
chrisjankunas, ally77, Arlanda, gyllene tjej, Txigui, whateveriam, Santi, tevensso, bunny2, T-Rox, NigelBarnes, Toni, marcuvandeursen, roxelad, Tonito123, Roxrider UAS, Stephan DH, bevi, crashroxer

I can’t wait to get my hands on the new things!

Can I join in? :) I can’t wait to get everything either but it’s so strange the box isn’t listed on any European online shop yet...

I doubt he can be bothered to come to the forum ;) But still, can’t wait to see Roxette come back. I do believe the best of Roxette is still to come ;) Go Per, go Marie, you ROX!

@ gyllene: “I doubt he can be bothered to come to the forum ;)”

But then again; you never know for sure.. and then it would be cool to find a thread like this! :-) Thanks!

Why should Per need any more support? We buy albums with crappy tracklists and fill his bank account. What more??

haha this thread was meant for mental support I believe, not financial one :D

I’m sure i wont be able to enter the record shop see the roxbox and come out without buying it, the same will happend with the gh and the single. And i’m sure that the 2 new songs will be at my mp3 player list for a long long long time.
:))

I’m looking forward to new stuff.

The Box...undecided.

gyllene_tjej: I know - that’s what I meant with “What more?” He is rich, he has a family and he certainly doesn’t care about fans. So why would he need mental support from US?

I think it means so that if he reads here he will relalise that not EVERYONE is fighting some kind of war against him / these releases (“boycot boycot! sperings to mind” and being melodramatic !

@ chris : That indeed is exactly what this thead is all about. Thanks pal! :-)

”**A little note for the moderators: is it possible some of you guys keep an eye on this post, so it won’t get spammed with angry messages?”

Good idea. Hopefully when they get their eye on it they will turn it grey. Everything that has been said here has already been said in countless other threads

OK

Is that an “Ok” to keep an eye on this thread, or an “Ok” to shut it down?! :-s

I am hoping that Per gets more positiv reactions for the “Rox BOx”. I still can not understand that there are fans here and around us who are so bad against the release.
Kiwein, why you are still talking here when you do not belong to the fans who will support him.???
At least you also will support your so beloved Marie when you are buying the box.
It is not only Per who is getting the money ! Sorry, but I just can not stand it when fans are talking here who disappointed Per and Marie. Why we should not be lucky that everything is alright with Roxette again ? Just being happy that they are back ? Really sad that Per has to say some words because he realized so many bad reactions about the release of the box.
I am damn proud to be a Roxette fan since 1989 and to get this special box so soon. It’s something we should love because without us this shouldn’t be released. We made it possible that Roxette can celebrate this !!! 20 years ROXETTE !!! Thank you Marie and Per !!!

It’s still open, right?

Yes it is.. Thanks very much! :-)
And hats off to bunny!

To Bunny2:

“Kiwein, why you are still talking here when you do not belong to the fans who will support him.???
At least you also will support your so beloved Marie when you are buying the box.”

- I am “talking here” because this is a forum open for discussion and I needed to share my thoughts about a support.

- And no I won’t support Marie since I don’t buy the box.

*edit*

And I certainly don’t want to start any war. I am just writing down my opinion as all of you do too. I just think that he doesn’t care about the ppl who are still happy with the releases and don’t think bad about it. He is a businessman. That doesn’t mean that I hate him or everything that he has released so far. That’s definitely not the case. I just kept a little bit of objectivity. And I am still looking forward to the whole Roxette comeback.

Can’t wait to get the box!
I’m very sad about what’s going on here and what some “fans” are doing in this forum. I think it causes much damage to Roxette. Until the Tracklist was released I could not imagine that FANS can be so hard. I also think that there is not that much unreleased material that would fit in a box like this.
So Per: I’m with you!

We would all welcome a full Roxette comeback however there would no doubt be a reasonable number that wouldn’t like the genre etc. Remember the comments with the HAND release although that gets some better press from the fans now.

Much talk over the past few weeks - I fully support free speech and decisions hence if you don’t want it, don’t buy it. Unfortunately the commercial world we live in supports the re-release market as it’s much cheaper than supporting ’new’ music hence ABBA, The Beatles multiple releases. A demo’s etc box would be interesting although not many would buy - will have to wait and see if the RoxBox attracts more commercial support - would we have been happier if we had all the old songs remastered in glorious 24 bit and trying to convince ourselves that they sound better whereas some would prefer the less clean sound?

I support Per in his interactions with me/my son - has always spent time in returning any items and personalised them - many artists would not do this.

The Bad Hair Day demo’s were free and Per has ’allowed’ various demo releases over time and these can be freely found on the internet etc.

Will I buy the Box? - possibly - depends on cost and how much is in my pocket. However if you must have everything released then a touch unlucky - use your choice, have your views and express them however don’t be too personal ’do what you want but harm no-one’.

Remember Per on his own would not release - EMI need to see some (more) return also.................

Ultimately let’s hope that the quality of the new stuff gives us optimism for future releases - Mazarin and SOAP certainly gives me confidence in that.

Thanks Mr G!

I will support Per!

And I’m looking forward to the Rox-Box!

Be happy that Roxette is still alive!

Roxette Rules

@kiwein1: This thread is for optimistic and positive comments only!
There are loads of other treads for your comment :-)

Nick, just because you started the thread, doesnt mean you can dictate who can reply. In the threads where people have complained about the rox box and/or per’s response, there are also people who are positive about it. This is a discussion board. If you post your opinion you have to expect that others will post opposing opinions

indeed, we SHOULD be thankful indeed that Roxette do still are around. There’s not that many bands who stick around such a long time.

@ncurran: “I’d like to ask anyone who feels sad over the big flaming towards Per to put a (preferably short) nice comment in this thread to tell him he’s not standing on his own in this matter”

You’re not exactly doing that in this thread, so I hope one of the moderators will be so kind to remove these kind of comments.
This one should be PRO-Per! (also proper)

Rox-on!

Roxette Rocks!!!!! Per, you ROCK!!!!!!

Roxette rocks! Rox on! :-)

Really want to listen to One Wish.

But this thread is rather childsh. Especially after all that has happend and been said, this thread seems like an appeasement one rather then a good vibes thread.

Take care!
Carlos E., New York.

Well it’s great that people on here support Per, Marie, Roxette, The Rox Box, GH, new single etc.

However I have to wonder if threads are being started like this in an attempt to recharge the passion of heated words from some fans?

In other words I think that some of these threads are now being started to fish for responses.

’You’re not exactly doing that in this thread, so I hope one of the moderators will be so kind to remove these kind of comments.

PER IS KING! PER IS KING! I WILL WORSHIP HIM UNTIL THE DAY I DIE!

happy now? dont be so ridiculous.

Per, i think you are the most talented guy in the whole world. LOVE YOU

STOP THIS! See the TDR discussion forum for the rules we’re formulating, and feel free to offer any suggestions you may have. In the meantime, the long-standing rules remain in effect. I think it’s reasonable that a subscriber to this newspaper, in our SmallTalk discussion forum, can start a thread where he or she is solicting comments from only a select group of people. However, this subscriber can’t really set up his own “rules.” I think it would become another reader to not comment on such a thread... if you’re not part of the target audience. For example... if someone started an off-topic thread about “Cats”... and asked that only cat-lovers respond, I think it would be of the dog-lovers to intrude where they weren’t welcome. But is that a “rule?” No.

I am not, however, saying that someone should be able to join a discussion, simply to sabotage it, or simply to “bait” others into responding to him/her. We’ve seen that happen before, and the few psychology classes I took in college are enough to make me think those people have a personality disorder, and should seek professional help.

Having said that, we’ve said over and over again that this is NOT a COMPLETELY open “forum.” How many times have I read some ill-informed subscriber state “I have the right to my opinion. I the right to say anything I want to here,” or something quite similar to that. We’ve said many times, in many places, that TDR reserves the right, like any other publication (especially a news-oriented publication), to edit (for brevity, clarity or violation of a set rule) or to completely unpublish any comment.

Back when I was actively moderating SmallTalk... and the rules were fairly well-known at that time... I would often delete a post, rather than have to waste my time editing out something that the writer should never have included in the first place. I’m convinced that most of our readers have little idea how much time it takes to keep TDR “alive and well.”

Just as ignorance of the law is no excuse in the criminal justice system (at least in this country), ignorance of the few rules that we have here is no excuse either.

We appreciate and value each and every reader of this newspaper. While those who seem to almost always have nothing but negativity in the words or tone of their postings really get on my nerves (and those of others on our staff), we’d find a newspaper where there was never any debate, never any pro and con “Letters to the Editor,” a rather dull experience.

Finally, allow me to encourage you to BE NICE to each other. We’re all brothers and sisters here in the usually happy, sometimes slightly disfunctional family that someone many, many years ago called “Roxers.” Please have respect for others, and try – as best as you can – to think through what you have to say here, as much as I take the time to do so.

Now... since hijacking a discussion topic is INDEED against the rules, please do NOT comment AT ALL about what I’ve said here. Use the TDR Discussion section.. where a topic already exists called “SmallTalk Rules.” Thanks!

And a VERY big thank you goes to Lars-Erik Olson! :-)

@StephanDH : I sure hope not.. my intention was to let Per know that it’s all good and that there are people who share his opinion. But thanks! :-)

Gessle Rules!

I guess there aren’t many people supporting Per :-|
