PER SHOWED HIS TRUE FACE... Its not about Rox-box.

One comment... And everythings goes other way. I really cant understand it. And now its really not about the Rox box. Its about Pers attitude, behaviour and arrogance. Roxette always say, that they have the best fans all over the world, they felt support and love. Now, when we dont like the politics of pop music and also Roxette and EMI, we are the one, who are bad... It makes me feel really sad. Yes, Per is a fantastic musician but... Now I can only listen to the music. But after the reading the comment I cant be Roxette´s fan as before... In my eyes, Marie is 100 procent better person. Friendly, kind and modest. Thats my feeling.
How do you feel that?
RJ1976 said on September 4, 2006 08:48:
Agree... but it makes me sad, so sad.... He means so much to us, and then he kicks us...

You may post it multiple times again, I fear it won’t help. All of us have a weak spot (I am one of the very few who does not... *lol*) . Per is spoiled by thoughtless affections by all of those “true fans” so much that he appearently never learnt to deal with negative feedback and becomes sulky. But again, who is without shortcoming?
[edit: In addition, Per was put in a very defensive position by single insulting, very personal comments. I wonder who of us could face them calmly. I couldn’t. But this does not justify his general counterstrike of course.]

for those who didn’t bother to read my comment on the frontpage. This is what I think about Per and why he gave us that kind of message. I don’t blame him, I still see him the way I did before and I will stay his fan, regardless the tremendous RoxBox disappointment. Here’s what I said before:
and you know what? I don’t think it’s the REAL Per behind the message. Obviously, it’s him who wrote it, but it is probably done to spite us. I mean, listen to some of his interviews - after all he has always been quite reticent about stuff he considered inconvenient to discuss. You know, he either said nothing about it or joked it all off. This time (with the Rox Box issue) it was different. There was enormous pressure put on him, he got pressed against the wall by our comments, suddenly we all CRAVED the answer from him.
Just as much as we felt hurt when the tracklist was revealed he probably felt the same because of the comments he read through (some of them being indeed not very nice). So, I believe he got his share too, hence it took him some days to deal with the situation and come up with the answer.
And what do you do when you’re hurt? More often than not you write some harsh words in self-defence. (You must have heard of the “attack is the best defence” mechanism?). I mean look around you - we’re all just people who actually do the same (most of us anyway)... look at the forum - if someone says something that’s not to your liking you start flaming around. And that’s I guess what Per did too, more or less.
No need to call him arrogant or indifferent just because of that stupid statement we got. Were I 15 I’d maybe feel broken hearted thinking my idol is not so ideal anymore. But now...no, and I’m done with that topic.

It’s so easy to kick on Per’s ass when we are so blind to see what we ourselves did or said that could have been as rude and arrogant as Per might have seem.
It’s hard to accept hard words... but I rather have them than being fooled byt warmed fake comments with a big yellow smile on the face. Per just said what was on his mind... as we also did. And we weren’t kind, nor understanding... why would he?
Thanx Per for having mirrored our greedy and not very humble faces
gyllene_tjej said on September 4, 2006 09:28:
exactly! And well, he was still very ballanced. Some fans were much more straightforward and rude!

Per is totally right. There is nothing to say more about it.

Only one thing.
>>If you don’t like it, don’t listen to it and certainly don’t buy it!

OK now I´m not excited with Rox Box. I said everything I want. I will buy it because I want to have new songs. I´m stopping moaning. Now I want to hear new songs and see what will happens. I´m looking to the future. Hope there will be some future in Rox world.

Ooooooooooooooooh, c’mon, this is bloody boring. So you think Marie’s more friendly just because it was Per who showed his face and answered our complaints?? Maybe it was your problem, not his. You were idealising too much someone that you don’t even know ....

Maybe we should not make such a big thing out of it!
The rox Box is just a release, and there are different opinions who needs/wants to buy the CDs and who not. To me it’s sad that there is not something like an alternative release for the fans who already have everything: one CD with the 14 rare songs and the (hopefully complete) Unplugged-Concert on DVD, so that we don’t have to pay 5 discs for an hand of tracks.
But it is very unfair to speculate on the character on Per, Marie, or someone else who is involved in this release. I think they tried to figure out the best compromise, they have a different opinion, I (and many of you) have another opinion, and that’s it!
And remember that we get demos on the soap-site, that other artists would have released in boxes to take money for! So you believe that an arrogant person would give out cassette-recordings like “smaker pa ett regn” for free?
Maybe they just wanted to ensure that the quality on a package you have to buy is worth the money, so maybe they acted more overmodest than arrogant, by believing that there should not be too many demos on it.

Sure, Marie is better than Per.... can´t believe what a f**king box is doing to all of us. Per is always saying that he ADORES his fans, the easiest thing to do for him was nothing, just like Marie: say nothing;just like EMI:say nothing. have you thought what kind of messages have received Per to write in a page like this? if you read what people have said in this web is really hurting and can´t imagine what they will have say to him...
Per is not arrogant, is honest and doesn´t hide when things don´t go his way.
if someone (as i read here) don´t like Roxette as much as before because of this Per´s message or because the Rox-Box is because maybe they weren´t fans before.
Fans are in the good and in the bad times. Rox-Box is just music,a cd..that´s all. Don´t talk about Per or Marie personality because you don´t like their project. They are artist, they are talented and will have fans forever.
other thing: do you really think that EMI has not say a word about the Rox Box and that Per & Marie have decided all the songs by their own? i don´t think so.. but in case they have chose all the songs, they have made what they want and that´s the most important thing. Per has all my respect and love and please just tell you not to be offensive with him.

At least Per has the bottle to actually speak to the fans and say something now and again...

I agree with you! I replied this to Pers comment: Sorry Per, but in some parts your answer is very unprofessional, e.g. “If you don’t like it, don’t listen to it and certainly don’t buy it!”. Tsss!
Of course it is your decision what to release and what not, but WE are the fans. WE bought your CDs and DVDs and WE made you big! WE made you stars! That was not done by yourself.
So please try to be a little more professional. After all those years you should know that many Roxette fans are fans from the heart. And sometimes, I agree with you, they come up with a very unpleasant attitide. But YOU are the star! YOU should be able to deal with that in a much more professional way.
Please don’t forget, that ROXETTE is not only YOU and MARIE, it is also WE, the fans!!!
