Your name vs the name you'd rather have..

If i was gonna change my name i’d change it to Isabel. Love that name. Is there any name you’d like to change yours to?

My mom was gonna call me “Bronwyn”. But ended up calling me “Ananda” instead. Dont really understand her thinking behind it.. mmm Bronwyn vs Ananda..
“oh Bronwyn.. come here Bronwyn!”
“Ananda! Put down that black marker! It is permanent! You cannot write on your face with that!!”

Well Isabel is one of my fave girl names, and one I intend calling any girls I might have ;) because it’s my godmothers middle name and I admire her so much!

I got called Alison because it was the modern version of Alice which is what both my grandma’s where called!

I was going to be called Paul if I was a boy!

I can’t find my coat of arms online, but we do have it over at my mum’s house, it was on the wall for years, now it’s in a cupboard... but I’ll take a photo!

However we are rather famous, we own a castle!

My name is Maddalena and I like it, so I don’t think I would change it.

If I’d been a boy, I would’ve been called David, which also sounds really good and would gladly call that any child of mine!

My middle name is weird though - it’s Lilith, I’m happy they didn’t call me that as a first name cos it’s very unusual and hard to spell for Italian people.

I forgot my middle name.....

It’s Marie (yeah no kidding).....

I use to hate it (sorry miss fredriksson....)

I got given it as a middle name because my mum’s fave pop star’s middle name was Marie!

Then of course when I became a Roxette I suddenly liked the name! lol

male: Andreas or Colin
female: Dinah

My name is Santiago and I have never thought of my life with any other name. And it’s a religious name... weird :D

If I had a kid... I don’t know... Well, for a daughter I like the names Itziar and Mireia.

My name is Ana Luísa. I like it!! :P

My mum almost give me the name “Barbara” . thank God she changed her mind, it makes me remind the barbaries :P

The name I have, Tara, is Irish, which is a HUGE part of my heritage.

My last name is English (which is the second largest part of my heritage):

Now, on my mom’s side of the family:

I’m predominantly Irish / Welsh / English. A heritage I’m very proud of. And for a while, I wasn’t thrilled with my name... until lately, when my “true” nature started to shine through.

If I was gonna be a girl then I would’ve been called Joanne-Claire, was isn’t too bad. Never really liked the name Paul. It’s to boring, and the only thing which people sometime call me is Paulie and that’s quite annoying!!

I think it is cool to be irish :)

And Paul is a nice name..when i pronounce it in afrikaans ..cuz in Sa you have the afrikaans version as well :D

Dont want to rain on yr parade ally.. but we also have a castle weeeeeeeeeee

look!! Its in germany..

Bugger it!! FINE YOU WIN ALLY:p *runs into room and slams the door*

I read that two people here liked “Isabel” as a girl name. I was about to be called like that after one of my aunts. But another of my aunts insisted on calling me Angela... and she won. They actually wrote the two names in two small papers, an innocent hand took one out... and voila!
Actually, I wouldn’t change my name, I really like it, since in Spain is not such a common name.
BTW, there was a time when I really hated the name “Isabel”, since that was the name of my then-boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend.... :)
Cheers.

@ TB, you can come stay in the castle, we’ll go to the theme park and see the circus, the I’ll bake you a big cake .... did I mention we own Lowther’s Cakes as well! ;)

I hate my middle name-Alice, yuck! I don’t like it and I don’t know why, and I feel guilty because everyone who finds out my middle name says I suit it!

How I got the name is interesting though-when my mum was having me and my sister, she decided on Alice Elizabeth as a girls name. 5 months in, she finds out it’s twins. So when me and my sister were born, I got Alice and she got Elizabeth as a middle name. Cool, huh?

My name is Sandra and I am really satisfied with it but I don’t like my middle name Astrid.

I like Alice now, it’s one of those names that has come back!

i’d have Ben i was thinkin of changin it but i have a cousin called Ben so it would get confusing

Ally, thank you honey. I’m always surprised to not have any more ’Wonderland’ jokes when I tell people my name though.

My real name is Miedy. Taken from my mom’s name MIEke and my father RudDY. It’s kinda unsual so I never meet anyone who has the same name as me. Even most of my friends always got confused so they call me Meidy instead, which is a very common name in where I used to live. There were times I don’t really like my name, but now it doesn’t matter anymore, besides my mom said that I almost be called Chintya, which I was glad, they changed their mind. I didn’t have middle name before, but since I got married, I decided to kept my last name “Pakasi” as my middle name and using Bishop (my husband’s last name) as my new one.
I don’t really think about name I’d rather have, but if i had a daughter I’d like to name her, Savannah.

My real name’s Debora and my middle name’s Soledad. Could have been worse...

The thing is that my name has nothing to do with my Italian surname.

Wonderland jokes are easy.

“Batten down the HATCHes? HATCHed from an egg? Down the HATCH?”

And many more that I’ve forgotten because most don’t tease me about my last name any more.
