Hey all who are interested. Just heard on an FM radio station in Adelaide that Roxette were reuniting for a new album early next year, followed by an Australian tour. My jaw dropped when I heard it but luckily my brother was in the car with me to confirm he had heard the same thing! Fingers crossed hey!!!!

Well there’s MANY rumors floating about - even heard of a possiblity of them coming to South Africa however knowing the time frame in which everything’s being planned etc., I highly doubt that anyone can make such an conclusive statement regaring a tour (or a new album for that matter).

Won’t happen.
Check out the front page of TDR, Per feels Marie will never tour again re family.
So won’t happen, save your pennies and fly to Sweden in case they do a special gig for 20yrs of ROX.

If anything does happen you will hear about a tour in Sweden/Europe before anywhere else.
Although it would be great, i really doubt that is the case.

Im hearing all the time on a station when they play a Rox song that the DJ says (what we all know) they are getting back together in the studio after a few years off to celebrate their 20th anniversary. Even one of the DJ’s said she couldnt wait for it :)

Rox-kuryliw: Just keep in mind, that if it weren’t for them being so talented, there wouldn’t even be songs for us to listen to. They don’t owe us anything. To them it’s a job, that they just happen to enjoy. And don’t get me wrong, I’m sure that they are very gratefull to everybody that listens to their music and buys CD’s. But they don’t belong to us.

As for the actual topic of this thread...I hope it’s true, because that would make the chances of a New Zealand tour (promotional or performance) a little more possible. Yay for me...depending where and when and if they come here.

And as for the Aussie tour, it was either a joke or a mistake. Even if Rox were touring, it’s highly unlikely they would tour Oz or New Zealand. I mean, come on, they haven’t had a hit in Oz for more than 10 years. And when they toured in 1995 several shows were cancelled due to poor attendance. And why on earth would an Aussie radio station get news of a tour first, ahead of the Swedish media and TDR...when TDR *just* spoke to Per this week and he said it’s not gonna happen, probably ever. Hmm, yeah, you need a lot of faith to still think this radio station was telling the truth!!! That’s some kind of divine intervention!!!!

It would be really really nice to see Per and Marie to perform again together, no massive jumping around concerts (I just could not imagine Marie doing that again, with all she has been through) but something like a small unplugged concert as thing for the 20th Anniversary…
Limited tickets to people for a one off concert!

Not sure about that. I’ve never seen them live, so I’d go to Sweden to see them for sure. But I’d love to see a full blown live concert. I think if it’s a one off, they would do it.

we just had a girl stay with us from Adelaide through couchsurfing.com - i mentioned it to her she said rox were really big over there - i know that was true anyway from the chart postions etc but its cool to hear it from someone who lives there.
I think every radio station in every country is playing a rox track and then mentioning they are getting back together - but i do think its very wrong for TELLING people they will tour when until its officially announced or even hinted at in a rox interview - these dj’s should not be getting our hopes up....but then again i guess they are promoting them in a way...
i couldnt open and read this thread quick enough when i saw the title especially as i will be travelling oz for 6 months next year....
anyway - of course i hope they tour if marie is well enough and still has the fire inside her to do it - but radio stations should not be saying things like this - im sure this forum would be the first to know...
@mister why - if it by the slim chance it does happen - ill meet up with you for the concert!!!!!!!

I don’t think Roxette are ever gonna tour Australia again and that is a fact. There is little chance of them ever doing a European tour again let alone coming all the way to Australia for probably 10 fans ;)

Even before Marie’s illness, the chances of an Aussie tour were extremely low, unless by some miracle they made a comeback. Even then not many bands tour Oz because of the extreme cost of bringing the stage that far. I was shocked in Sweden by how many big artists were doing concerts week after week!!
I really hope, that after Marie’s illness is a few years behind her, and her kids are older, that she’d consider a tour. But - she’ll be in her 50’s by then!! She has said before she doesn’t want to be one of those old artists who keeps touring. Frankly speaking, I think Marie doesn’t really like touring. She loves to perform but I think she hates the travel. She didn’t even really want to do the Äntligen tour!
