about the "two" new songs
tavo said on March 29, 2006 15:14:
well, if it is really true that it is only going to be two new songs in the gh album, i would like both songs to be sung by marie. considering that we haven´t heard of her for some time, i think it´d be great to listen to marie on radio stations when this new single is released. in addition, this is not sth unlikely to happen considering that the DBUGTTC U.S. release contained WICF, STARS and YDUM as new tracks, and they were all sung by marie. furthermore, i think it is fair taking into account that in pop hits, the two new songs were performed by per only (OBVIOUSLY DUE TO MARIE´S HEALTH)so... what do you think? do you agree? have you already asked this question yourselves?

“taking into account that in pop hits, the two new songs were performed by per only”
I guess you got to know that Marie was quite unable by then to record anything because of very serious health issues.
For me, the hip-happy song for Per singing, the sad boring ballad let there be Marie...

It’s not my very very greatest wish, but I am almost positive that roxette will deliver this October more than two songs. I’m almost positive that Per has already written a few songs. I remember he said “one or two tracks” back in 2003-2004 when GT was about to come back. And then we of course got the almost famous F5F. And if I am struggling a bit more, I could find some more happenings of this kind in the far and recent past. And I don’t think they would have booked AGM for an entire month (as he suggested in the interview at radio donna) for only recording two songs.
Anyone wanna bet on this? hehe

@santi: how can i not know that marie was ill at that time and that that was why the two songs incuded in pop hits were sung by per? you know, i am a fan just as you are (if you are one) and i have checked this site every single day. so of course i got to know that marie was ill during the pop hits era. what i meant was that per could have used a leftover song sung mostly by marie instead of including two songs sung by himself.
it´s a pity that so many people misunderstand fan´s opinions here and take advantage from that by posting sarcastic/stupid comments.

tavo-He isn’t a fan...Skeep everything he writes in roxette forum. He don’t pay respect to others feelings and don’t read careful others opinions..Most of it is pointless sarcasm..
back to the SUBJECT..
I agree with you ,we need more Marie ,but i will be glad if one song is made by Marie and one by Per cos it’s interesting to see Mazarin or Soap spirit in roxette song.. 50/50 is good enough. :-)

I think we are having enough songs sung and written by Gessle (just listen to his last swedish solo albums and SOAP). I’d prefer Marie’s voice in ALL the new songs and Per is just singing the background vocals.
On the other hand I am loving songs like “Silver Blue” or “Church Of Your Heart”.
I don not know at all. Everything is welcome ! All what matters is, that they are back with something very nice and new ! We are hungry for new hot stuff, uhm ? ;-)
Debora said on March 29, 2006 20:34:
Well... the only thing I want is, at least, a new song. If they want to give us more, those songs will be welcome!
Now, about Marie or Per singing... well, their styles are very different, Marie’s voice is wonderful to sing sad ballads like “You Don’t Understand Me” (of course she’s a wonderful singer and she can sing everything she wants) and Per’s voice and style is perfect for uptempo songs. Anyway, I only want to listening some new Roxette songs no matter who sings them! I’m happy because they are going to record again as Roxette and that means, among other things, that Marie’s healthy again.

I’d love one song sung by Marie and one by both, as The Look, Joyride, How do you do!, Dangerous, Paint, etc. etc.
rox-kuryliw said on March 29, 2006 21:35:
id love a hotblooded marie style song, then a dangerous/ real sugar song.

One song sung by Marie, Per doing backing vocals...
Another song sung by both
Sascha said on March 30, 2006 07:13:
*Agrees with the last comments* For Per-only stuff I can pick one of his recent solo-albums. And I hope that there WILL be a single release and promo-tour. We’ll see! :-)

For all the ones who wonder about Roxette’s sun powered 80s sound 2006. Here’s some info about the “Aerosol Grey Machine” Studio, which will definitely influence Roxette’s work and sound in June!

Yep, one up-temp with Marie on lead, and then a ’run to you’ type ballad with Per doing the middle-8 :)
harriej said on March 30, 2006 18:05:
I agree with Debora!
It does not really matter who sings, it is great Roxette is back.
Why always this competition between Per and Marie? (Not by themselves but by the “fans”).
In the albums it is stated:
Roxette is Per & Marie
(so both of them, not just Per and not just Marie).
Debora said on March 30, 2006 21:19:
Not Helena, please! I don’t want to hear a single word by her on a Roxette song!
@harriej: once more... you know what I mean :)
Emil__BG said on March 31, 2006 10:16:
nothing personl against Helena, but i can’t imagine her singing powerful up-tempo somg...
So we want more Marie ....

I think Ally was joking when she said put Helena on backing vocals...
A_T_ said on March 31, 2006 10:55:
@Emil, Debora&others: don’t be naif, helena can sing wonderfully and suitably whatever you’d want her to. it is just that you don’t want her to. which is a different thing. see it and approach it this way: you don’t like her, you see her like competing with marie, so you don’t credit her intervention. it’s easy, isn’t it? all you have to do is to keep it subjective.
her musical potential is strangely across the board. per and some others have already sensed that.
Debora said on March 31, 2006 18:38:
Sorry, but I don’t agree with you.
I don’t see Helena like a competitor against Marie, what I said is exactly that: I don’t want her singing a Roxette song, and I say that just because I don’t like her style and I don’t like her voice (Anyway,I have to say that I have only heard this girl on Per’s songs, never on her own, but, if she always sings like in those songs then it’s irritating, her singing is a long whisper) I say it in the same way I say that I don’t like Britney Spears (but I recognise Helena sings much better than BS). Now, if someday Helena shows me that she can sing, that she have power and feelings on her voice I will have no problem to say: “Hey, Helena, sorry, you’re a great singer.”
Jud (moderator) said on March 31, 2006 19:23:
Debora: I am with you, I can’t stand her voice >:@ I have tried, really, but I simply can’t stand it, same happens to me with Mariah or Whitney, even though for different reasons, I think H sings out of tune, and the other 2 way too high for my taste. But that’s just about tastes. Some like coke and hate pepsi and the other way around.
If you want to listen to her music go to sandymouche.com and.. ehm. good luck :D
This about the “you think she is competing with Marie” is as bad as if I would tell you that you like H only because Per likes her. Wonder why people can’t accept people have different tastes.

A powerpop song sung by both of them and a power ballad sung by Marie (Per on backing vocals).
No electronic stuff, please!

A_T_ –read careful and give me a link to “powerful up-tempo song ” with Helena as leading vocal..
and then we will talk again..
1 or 2 falsetto song it is ok even great but Roxette is more than that..
Roxette is Per and Marie
Roxette is Marie and Per

who ever said Helena on vocals said that to get a response off people , cos we all know some peoples views on her regarding roxette lol

If it was up to me I’d have Marie on backing vocals and let Per sing and write the songs.
