How to prevent ringwear?
sandyam said on March 6, 2006 21:37:
I keep my records in a standing position instead of lying on top of eachother. I always had the feeling this would prevent ringwear on the cover.
Does anybody have any other tips to keep your vinylcollection in topcondition?

I have special sleeves for the vinyl and the record sleeve
the record itself has a cardboard sleeve to sit in and the record sleeves all have a heavy duty clear plastic sleeve
don’t seem to have any probs with this appart from needing a bigger record box if my collection gets any bigger

I see. Thanks for the solutions.
@ Vix
Can you tell me where I can get those clear protection sleeves? I do have some but far not enough for all my records...

I mostly got mine from record fairs years ago as they used to have stalls selling just covers but you could also try....
I have brought from them and they are very good but I have no idea if they ship to anywhere other than the UK

Yes, a recordfair is probably the best place to find these sleeves. I really should attend one soon again.
Since I discovered Ebay I hardly visit these fairs.
By the way, I noticed most of the time prices on ebay are much lower than on recordfairs.

Keep the records outside of the sleeves.
