....i’m Croatian composer of pop music, actually working with Emilija Kokic, former Eurosong winner(Lausanne,” Rock me baby”,she was a singer of Riva, and she’s still very popular in Croatia),on an English album.I’m interested what do you think, dear fans, can you see in these songs that I’m a Roxette fan since Look Sharp until 2day??:)
there you click on “pjesme” (“songs” on english version site)
there are 7 finished songs and 1 demo,6 songs is still missing...
comments and suggestions are very welcome...

Say to Emilija that “Rock Me” was one of the best songs for the contest during the 80’s. I love that song! I am not a big fan of the Jugoslavian songs, but “Rock Me” and ” Hajde da ludujemo” (from 1990, by Tajci) are two of my favourites.

Hey, I realised I also like other Jugoslavian entries:
Sladjana Milosevic - Fantasticno Putovanje (withdrew from the contest, 1985)
Danijela - Neka Mi Ne Svane (Croatia - brilliant song!)
Alma Cardžic - Goodbye (Bosnia)
Doris Dragovic - Marija Magdalena (Bosnia)
Maja Tatic - Fairytales About Love (Bosnia)
Feminnem - Call Me (Bosnia)
Platin - Stay Forever (Slovenia)
I didn’t include any Macedonian entry, because their songs are always HORRIBLE!
Thank you, I hope Emilija will receive my message. She looks better now than in 1989! By the way, do you know what happened with Tajci?

You know, the music’s not bad for this kind of genre (nothing I’d ever listen to, though)... I can see why you would say it’s inspired by Gessle, it’s very melodic, etc. It’s FAR sweeter and - although it’s hard to believe - poppier than Gessle, but it sounds like the kind of thing they’d play on Swedish pop stations (Laura Pausini, Lara Fabian... a thousand other completely forgettable female pop singers that get played on RIX...). The lyrics are downright nauseating, though, and the singer doesn’t strike me as having a particularly special voice. I mean, she’s technically a good singer I guess, but she has no soul... she sounds like the kind of singer they get to perform on telethons, who wears a pretty dress and won’t offend the grannies watching from home...
If you want some advice, I’d say keep writing but try for something edgier - like, A LOT edgier - what you’re writing is very similar to Christian rock... I’ll let that speak for itself...
