Interesting find (for the collectors)

Most of us are familiar with the ’Now (that’s what you call music)’ compilations... I knew that the South African Now 10 featured Roxette’s The Look and Now 12 Dangerous but I never bothered with the rest thinkin it would only be the common singles.

However Nikos & myself stumbled across Now 11 LP (released in 1989)... featuring

- wait for it -

Roxette’s TURN TO ME!!!!

As far as I remember this track was only available as a b-side on the 1987 7” of IMHBL and later on the re-release of POP in 1997!!

Seems that EMI SA tried to cash in on the success of “the look”/Roxette releasing a song with strong vocals by Marie. Those were the days!! LOL! Also interesting that it’s the only Xmas song on the album...

I hope to take some pix of the Gatefold LP later today... So stay tuned!

oh,the things fans do to make others jealous;-)

nice find, mister!

An interesting find indeed!

I love Turn to me!!!

Nice one, now as to where to find this release? ;)

I’m working on it, Collin! Will let ya know if i find anything!!

thats interesting indeed.

great purple :)

That is CRAZY! And to think it took almost 17 years for a fan to make this discovery. Good detective work!! I still can’t believe it... “Turn to Me”... they could have even featured “IMHBL” a year before it became one of the biggest hits of the year around the world, but opted for the B-side instead. Wow!

wow! what a surprise :)

@ roxtexanet... EXACTLY my thoughts!! You should have seen me in the shop!! LOL!!

bet that would have been funny, cos i know what i would of done lol.

@purplemedusa

jip, thats right:) iv got 2 copies of that vinyl. in fact im looking at it on my shelf right now lol. had it for years. and for the longest time, i had no idea wat CD to find it on until it was released on the Pearls of Passion re-release. altho of course i was aware it was the on IMHBL 7” which i still havnt got round to buying.

i always found it quite interesting. glad im not the only one who thought so. lol

Hehe Jules... and you didn’t share that info!! LOL! Maybe you can swap that extra LP for SOAP’s new LP as it’s VERY rare - I’ve been doing serious research and there’s very little of them that survived simply because collectors never saw their value!!

My copy is an original promo copy (still stamped as ’SAUK’ property) - interesting enough TTM was given highest priority on the album and the Pet Shop Boys track was marked with a big AVIOD! LOL!
