My Halloween party is on 28th October. It’s fancy dress (of course!!!). I’ve been holding Halloween parties for about 5-6 years now, so everyone has got used to them :-)))
pwbbounce (moderator) said on October 19, 2005 13:41:
Hopefully. Got loads of stuff planned! Also gonna be holding a Hogmanay style new Years Eve party this year.

pwbbounce (moderator) said on October 20, 2005 13:20:
nothing better than a good house party! especially if you’ve gotta dress up in funny costumes!!!
rox-kuryliw said on October 20, 2005 14:01:
i didnt think people in uk really celebrated halloween now matter home much its been pushed on to us , when i was little it wasnt around, well i dont know many people that celebrate it, Iv been invited to loads of bonfire night partys though, thats more my thing :-D
ally77 said on October 20, 2005 18:29:
@ rox-kuryliw - I agree, I remember perhaps getting a witches hat of something from the local post office and sometimes some sticky false nails.... nowadays we sell everything for Halloween, but the problem here is kids start knocking weeks before hand asking trick or treat.... I just tell them to come back on Halloween and I always hand out some stuff for them!
rox-kuryliw said on October 21, 2005 11:09:
i have never had anyone knock for a few years now ! i guess we are a scary family lol, i still think its pushing a ’commercial holiday’ on us, as it has no meaning for the british , but another few days to get trade out of us, im not gonna play on. Either that or its an excuse to dress up, but i can do that any night LOL
Santi said on October 21, 2005 11:37:
It’s kind of being pushed here in Spain as well. I think it’s really stupid.
The only good thing about Halloween is that there’s going to be the premiere in Spain of Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride! :P I’m looking forward to see that movie :D
pwbbounce (moderator) said on October 21, 2005 14:08:
Halloween actually has Irish traditions. Do a google search for Halloween and it gives all the meaning behind it.
rox-kuryliw said on October 22, 2005 02:24:
i just LOve TIM BURTON FILMS.
Irish traditions for halloween, first time iv heard that !!! sound interesting ill still give it a miss i think. Next we will have to start celebrating thanks bloody giving lol, they already tried showing the superbowl last year on tv i remember, But as you guessed it bombed big time lol, silly buggers i could have told em that.
realsuga said on October 22, 2005 07:39:
I can see the relation between Hallowe’en and the Irish. We are a scary race!:-)
I love Hallowe’en and love getting scared. Specially those Hallowe’en movies! Michael Myers rox!

Well, October the 1st. ’Spooky Month’!! I like October
ally77 said on October 1, 2006 18:39:
I love October!
Did you know today is also the start of the Jewish New Year!
I only know this because someone was singing and shouting Happy New Year at midnight and I thought they are way to early.... then I was told it was the Jewish New Year!
pwbbounce (moderator) said on October 4, 2006 08:52:
I’ve already watched Halloween 1 and 2!!! Gotta watch the rest of them before Halloween!
ally77 said on October 4, 2006 09:32:
Halloween 1 & 2 are the best.....
Halloween 3, totally nothing to do with the rest of the films... but still one of my faves... that Irish guy just freaks the hell out of me! lol
Still waiting on Halloween 9 next year! :)
pwbbounce (moderator) said on October 4, 2006 10:49:
Halloween 3 was pants!! I’m not gonna watch that one again. Only the Michael Myers ones. I think Part 5 is the worst. I loved H20 when it came out. Saw it like 4 or 5 times at the cinema. And now I know the script!!
ally77 said on October 5, 2006 12:49:
I love them all..... I am just a Halloween Addict! lol
Speaking of Halloween.... I am going to a Halloween party this year... girl at work is having combined birthday Halloween party for her 25th! :) Should be so much fun!

Here in Germany Halloween came alive 4 or 5 years ago. I would not miss it, if it disappeared again. It´s ok, as long as little children are ringing at the door, asking for sweets. But teenagers asking for money, that´s too much. Friends of mine found their house covered with old eggs. I know some people who are afraid to leave their house at Halloween because there might be damage. German youth did not really get what Halloween is about.
ally77 said on October 8, 2006 07:39:
Decided to go as a witch, plenty of black clothes and pretty to cheap to pick up extras!
ally77 said on October 8, 2006 13:10:
ASDA had some great stuff in, spent less than £15 on some really great stuff, including a devil costume for Alfie.... *trust me it’s perfect for him*
Santi said on October 8, 2006 18:52:
As far as my Israeli friend Noam let me know, the Jewish New Year is on a different date each year, it’s not fixed. I remember we did that of the apples and the honey :D Funny...
pwbbounce (moderator) said on October 10, 2006 13:43:
All Hallow’s Eve is coming round pretty quick actually. And I haven’t even planned my party for this year yet. hmmph!
Must get my thinking head on. No doubt I’ll have to chuck on my Michael Myers outfit again, and walk round the streets. The little kids get really scared. Mwah, mwah, mwah (that’s a dirty laugh by the way)
pwbbounce (moderator) said on October 10, 2006 13:50:
Hmmph - they’re showing the original Halloween in cinemas across the US from 30th and 31st October. Would love to see Halloween on the big screen :-(
