What item did you pay the most for?
sandyam said on September 30, 2005 17:05:
I have several ’rare’ items in my Rox + related collection but never paid that much for one single, LP cassette or whatsoever.
Except for one item. That’s the 7” single of I call Your Name. For this particluar item I paid 33 Euros.
Quite a lot and maybe even too much. But, it’s in mint condition so I think it was worth the money..
I have always love this singles’ sleeve.
What about you? What’s the item that you paid most for?
colinvdbel (moderator) said on October 1, 2005 10:43:
I paid 50 euro’s for the swedish remix 12” of Neverending Love (the purple cover). I paid the same for the Second Look picture disc LP.

It’s not that much compared to others, but I think the most expensive Rox Item I purchased (as I’ve never been to a concert) is the original DBUGTTC. About $30 as an import through a major bookseller’s chain. I bought TPH & TBH via computer and they were just short of that if they weren’t about the same. The DVD might have been that expensive, but I bought it through Amazon Cananda so I’m not certain what the end cost was after the exchange rate, but I did put it on rush delivery.
RobS said on October 2, 2005 00:29:
AU$60 for TBH import from Canada.
Normally CD’s are around $30 here. I didn’t notice that it was in US dollars!

I paid exactlye the same for both Marie’s “Kärlekens guld” and Per’s “På väg” sets: 90 dollars each.
The most expensive single I ever bought was “Stars - Remixes” (the one with yellow background and pink stars, with 5 different mixes). I wonder why it is so hard to get...

I paid a LOT of money for Dance Passion LP ( around 500 sek). It was like 10 years ago...did I get ripped or what??
rox-kuryliw said on October 2, 2005 10:37:
Dance Passion LP for me aswell, think i got it for about £15-20
LookSharp81 said on October 2, 2005 13:28:
There was the NO SE SI ES AMOR Brazil Promo CDS with different Cover, which i got on Ebay for 134 EUROS.
It was too much i know, but the other bidders were as terrible as i in this moment of auction.

The item for which I payed the most is the “Look Sharp” picture CD. I was about 75 Euro. The most expensive CD single was the 3 inch version of “The Look” and the Sommartider promo CD (each about 15 Euro).
The vinyl versions of “Dance passion” and “Pearls of passion” I bought when they where still regulary available in Sweden (both about 10 Euro). I even got Gyllene Tider’s “Heartland” LP (6 track) released under the name Roxette for about 12 Euro (including shipping) from a US vendor many years ago.
P.S.: Does anybody know where to get the “Kung av sand” MXCD for a reasonable price?
JayBee said on October 2, 2005 14:00:
The Second Look (picture LP) I purchased in an ebay auction for 30 Euro (in 2002). Also expensive for an LP but for this item I think that’s OK. The LP is like mint, the cover however only in good condition.
sandyam said on October 2, 2005 14:55:
To be honest, I find the condition of the cover more important the condition of the disc itself.
JayBee said on October 2, 2005 15:47:
Hi sandyam,
I almost agree with you. Generally the condition of the cover is also important to me. In this case it is however difficult to find a cover in mint condition as it is already over ten (now over 15 ) years old and there are not too many of this picture LP. It doesn’t look bad but there are some marks (mainly at the edges) from storage.
Additionally the cover of this LP contains no special picture but is mainly black with some text and there is a round cut out to see the picture of the disc.
All in all I was happy with the purchase.

Of course it’s all up to you in what condition you buy your items.
It’s just that, even when something’s rare and hard to find, I prefer looking for it until I find it in perfect condition. At least, I won’t buy it if it’s damaged in any way. That’s just me..
JayBee said on October 2, 2005 17:49:
Like you say, everyone has to make the decision on his own.
For some items 100% mint is nearly impossible. I looked for this item for a very long time and I never found it at any record fair. The ebay offer described the cover to be “good” and that description was OK. I often ordered items from other sellers that are described to be mint but aren’t in my opinion.
Buying vinyl per mail order is always a risk at many items are not in a really good condition. Items on record fairs are often also damaged if they “travel” from record fair to record fair what is very probable for such rare and possible items.
So good luck to you for finding mint items.

The item i payed the most if i remember well... it was for Marie’s LP Efter Stormen around 80€, i know it’s crazy but i love that album!! and i wanted to have it in LP ;-)
Then for Pearls of Passion 40€ or Dance Passion 50€. I think in record fairs depends on what they’re prices are too high without doubt!! I’ve seen singles of Gyllene Tider and so on for 190€ 200€... those are more than crazy!! i laugh at their faces when i see this prices.

Were you the one who bought that HORRIBLE Brazilian promo? It looks like a house-made CD (and very bad done, to be sincere). I wouldn’t pay 134 euros because it just has a different (and ugly) sleeve... The most I would pay for it (rare or not)would be 10 euro.
Strest said on October 3, 2005 03:05:
1. Kärlekens Guld
2. The Look for Roxette
I seriously doubt I’d pay more for any of the stuff I want than about EUR50 so it’s gonna be hard to beat (a new boxset maybe?).
CRIZ said on October 3, 2005 15:14:
I think I never paid more than 50 Euro for an item...last very expensive thing was the “Listen to you heart” 5# Maxi CD
And yes I agree the prices at record fairs are mad sometimes. Since ebay I think nothing is really rare anymore.
PerFanatic said on October 4, 2005 00:39:
Well, it’s not technically an “item”, but the most I ever paid for a Roxette-related experience was well over $1,000 US for my trip to Sweden to see the Stockholm & Goteborg concerts in 2001. Luckily I had enough miles to get the flight for free. Otherwise it would have been nearly $2,000! It’s the best $1,000 I ever spent and I’d do it again in a heartbeat!
marcusvandeursen said on October 5, 2005 17:06:

Hm... that must be the blue vinyl of “Ännu doftar kärlek”. Paid 1000 SEK for this one (but I only own half of it, so it actually cost 2000 SEK...)
Otherwise I am VERY cheap when it comes to buying stuff. Sooner or later everything can be found for a low price. ;) (I know someone who won’t agree with me now, hihi...)

“I paid 90 dollars for Listen to your heart Austrian CD 3” 10 years ago”
That CD is almost always on eBay for no more than 15 euros. I think 90 dollars for it is too much... I wouldn’t spend more than 10 euro/dollars for a CD-single. More than than is a real waste of money. I only consider tracks I don’t have, different sleeve doesn’t matter at all.
I am not a compulsive buyer. For instance, last thing I bought was “Wish I Could Fly - Remixes”, the one released in Europe including the 4 remixes. The UK release (including the fade out edit) is easily available, but I was not able to get the European release until now. The price was always high on eBay (maybe that single is a bit scarce, I don’t know why). But I finally get a new/unplayed copy on Tradera for 25 kronor! I couldn’t believe it. So, I prefer to wait a little longer and get a better deal.

I own the other half of this blue vinyl Susi talked about.... but otherwise my most expensive stuff must be Beating Heart 7” (paid approx 100 Euros) and Roffe 50! LP (which I paid approx. 150 Euros for).
But I have to agree with Susi that the one who wait will get the stuff cheap. We have done quite some bargains now and then living after this rule... ;)
colinvdbel (moderator) said on October 6, 2005 16:00:
Yeah, you can always be lucky...for isntance, I found a ’I Call your Name’ 7” in mint condition for 1,50 euro...in the same store the look was actually prices higher, at 2 euro’s!!
PeterGm said on October 1, 2005 02:10:
that is a good question... a scary one! actually, the scariest question would be: How much have you spent on “Roxette” for Roxette related material and other Roxette related expenses?
Since your first record, to the last...including all material, magazines, airfares, bustickets, food in Halmstad...etc... HOW MUCH?!
I dare to even start writing it down!
