I was, once again, looking for Roxette material from one second-hand-music/book-store. Suddenly I saw strange Roxette record called “Elmeri”.
This 7” is back from 1985 and it’s an EMI release... So they had 2 Roxettes on their lists year later...? :p

3R is a rhythm and blues band from Finland. The group now enjoys international recognition.
The roots of the 3R go as far back as the mid-1970’s, when a band was formed to play at local school parties in Kausala, Finland. The band was influenced by two great bands, Dr.Feelgood of the UK and Hurriganes of Finland. A good name was taken from the first Dr. Feelgood album and the band became locally known as Roxette.
In the 1980’s the band recorded 2 singles:
“Sarjakuvarakkautta” with “Oi Kirsti” on the B-side (fall of 1984)
“Elmeri” (EMI records) and “Tenkka-tenkka-poo”(winter 1985)
In the 1990’s the band released one CD, ” Romeot”, a remixed version of a mid-1980’s recordings. In 1999 Roxette was renamed the Roxette Rhythm’n Blues Revival - also known as the 3R. The group decided to take their influence from a more traditional “roots” R & B sound - but has never abandoned their original rock’n roll style.
The band played several gigs in Finland during summer of 1999. A performance in Kouvola was recorded and a CD: “3R live! Elävänä Buffalon Asemalla” was released. The band continues to play anywhere that good roots-music is appreciated!
The musicians:
Mr. Petri Haapio ................. keyboards and accordion
Mr. Mika Halttunen ............. vocals and rhythm guitar
Mr. Seppo Haukkavuori ...... bass
Mr. Ismo Kivinen ................ drums and backing vocals
Mr. Perttu Pylkäs ............... lead guitar
Mr. Harri Sakki ................... guitar and backing vocals
The technological guru:
Mr. Harri Vahvelainen

And why can’t they use the same name?
Besides, Swedish Roxette is using their name, not the other way around, for what it seems.
As far as I know, Roxette by the Doctor Feelgood was quite a hit, so a well-known song that may have been heard by millions around the world.
