Rolling Stone`s message to G. Bush

“You call yourself a Christian, I call you u a hypocrite/You call yourself a patriot, well I think you’re full of shit.”
Rolling Stones will release a new album in September and there´s a song called “Sweet Neo Con” and lyrics above are from that song :)
What do you think?!

Well done Jagger and the boys! That’s well said. Don’t like the band that much either though. I’m even younger than Neil!!

That’s about as intelligent as Mick Jagger ever gets. Yes, he has truly offered a solution to problems, rather than simply griping and name-calling, as so many others do. Thank you Mick, you have really helped the world along, with your constructive suggestions, and clear outline for a way forward. It’s obvious that all the drugs you’ve done had no effect whatever upon your mental functions.
Now, Mick, can you write some lyrics about the new British plans to capture and deport people merely for talking... if what they say doesn’t happen to agree with what the British government thinks?

That line is true for both sides of the border. Thats why Ive always had a problem with organised religion.
coyboyusa said on August 12, 2005 07:57:
wow it took the 60 yr old mick jagger all this time to make up one of the most ignorant lyrics of all time, its funny how all these peope put all this effort into bashing bush but you don’t see them on the capitol steps protesting the war in iraq or any of his other policies the worse thing i hate is hypoctrites and theres obviously alot of them. And since when has mick jagger been a politician?
per_mson said on August 12, 2005 08:02:
It doesn’t take a politician to see what an idiot Bush is! One who even says that Darwin was wrong with his evolution theory must be completely nuts and since Bush believe that he is a big nut!
sommartiderhejhej said on August 13, 2005 23:00:
I am not a real fan of The Rolling Stones, but it is good they stand up to Bush.
People defending Bush must be blind if they don’t see what a mesh he makes of the world.
The Stones don’t have to be in the demonstrations, they can give their opinions via their songs.
The songs are the main communication of artists, so why should they do it in a different way.
PS. I am not really waiting for political songs, I prefer the ” bubblegum and balloons”, as Per G. would call it.
LittleSpooky said on August 13, 2005 23:59:
This is actually the first Stones album I’d own... and because of that song.
Jud (moderator) said on August 14, 2005 12:26:
I still haven’t understood how somebody can be such a patriot, whatever comes and whoever represents them. It’s like.. one should be able to differenciate between attacking a country and you.. ;)
Anyway, never really liked the Stones.. and it surely has to take more than a sentence for me to like them :D
coyboyusa said on August 14, 2005 14:11:
i am not a blind patriot but this whole bashing bush thing has become a tired fad, if you people put half the effort into denouncing radivcal muslim clerics and violence throught the world maybe none of the un allies would have ever had to step foot in the middle east
Jud (moderator) said on August 14, 2005 15:34:
well I am against any kind of radicalism.. from whatever side of the world.. but you should know that already :)
LaMan said on August 14, 2005 17:17:
It always amazes me coyboyusa supports Bush even Bush is a homophobic and is against for example gay marriages. Totally weird.
sommartiderhejhej said on August 14, 2005 20:48:
bashing Bush is neccesary as long as he keeps on doing stupid things (and I am afraid that will go on as long he is a president).
What is more serious is that there are actually people defending him.
That means these people are even more stupid.
coyboyusa said on August 15, 2005 15:53:
i dont necessarily support bush la man, but i do support the intent behind shaking up the nut jobs in the middle east. everyone wants to be content sitting around in their little democracies sipping lattes while the rest of the world forumlates ways to destroy democracy and someone has to stand up. bush has done things half assed but at least he didn’t just sit a couple thousand miles away and loft off patriot missles the way clinton did. Bush never came out as being a homophobe either he simply doesn’t think that therew shoudl be legislation endoring rights for every minority under the sun and to some degree i agree with him.
LittleSpooky said on August 15, 2005 20:12:
Coyboy: Bush doesn’t want democracy, he wants world domination! Get a clue by taking a look at the Patriot Act and reading it ALL the way through, and then take out your copy of the Bill of Rights, and see how the Bill of Rights conflicts with the Patriot Act in several places.
*note to site designers: We really need a spell check ;o)*
Jud (moderator) said on August 16, 2005 05:33:
wow, so now he’s not even homophobe.. now this one I was not expecting to hear from you ;) Or was this the joke of the day? :D
Santi said on August 16, 2005 10:35:
I read on the tram the other day that Jagger says the song is not about G.W. ...
GT_85 said on August 16, 2005 11:33:
Judith is from Spain, right? I´m not surprised she hates Bush. I´m sure you blame him for the terrorist attacks in Madrid also? Cause He has made it almost impossible to attack USA, so now the terrorists attacks another country.
At least he can protect his citizens.
We all know who hates Bush on this forum, you must not scream it out all the time.
per_mson said on August 16, 2005 16:52:
@GT85: I just think that we who is not so fond of Mr. Bush think it is so weird that people here actually do defend him. I don’t see it as screaming it out...
Jud (moderator) said on August 16, 2005 20:02:
I don’t think I need to justify myself though, but since you allowed yourself to judge me and think for me... The only ones I blame for the attacks in Madrid or anywhere else are the terrorists who exploded the bombs
This is not about hating or loving a person we don’t know, it’s about agreeing or not with his politics. Surely most of us don’t agree 100% in our country’s politicians.. unless you are blind sheep.
ncurran said on August 16, 2005 23:42:
Bush can protect his citizens? Is that why he has sent thousands of men to die in Iraq? Wasnt it also under his rule that thousands died on 9/11? and the US is even more vulnerable to attack than it was then.
LittleSpooky said on August 17, 2005 09:43:
GT: Bush DOES NOT protect “his citizens”. He strips their rights away until there’s nothing left. He was quoted as saying that “this would be easier if it was a dictatorship. Of course, I’d have to be the dictator....”
You show me where he’s protecting me, versus stripping away my rights that were given to me in the Bill of Rights, then we’ll talk.
coyboyusa said on August 17, 2005 16:51:
judioth and spooky, forst of all regardles of his contributions to religious organizations and an obvious lean towards the right he has never ver personaly came out and said that he thought being gay was wrong, and world domination give me a break, if thats what he and his family wanted we would have pushed into iraq back in the 90’s when his dad was in power. its amazing to see how even people in my own country are ignorant enought o think our country wants to rule the wrold and its rather sad to. and as for things like the patriot act, thew only people who worry about the patriot act are people who are doing something wrong and are worried about being caught. the patriot act since it was put into effect has beern used to put away big time gang leaders and drug smugglers aside from helping weed out terrorists, so it may be a bit infringing on personal right but you know what if wiretappings caught the next conspirators of the next 911 then i am all for it.
LittleSpooky said on August 17, 2005 20:11:
Never said that America SPECIFICALLY wants to rule the world, or will for that matter.
No, I honestly believe that America will be reduced to something of a prison camp while people like Bush, Blair, and several others reap the benefits of it and either they, or someone like them control the world.
Why else do you think Cheney’s pushing so hard to try to nuke Iran off the map? They’re only a threat because they see the US and “allied forces” invading and occupying Iraq. We’re not there for Iraqi freedom... hell no. As the average Iraqi citizen if they feel free while the “Allies” are there.
ncurran said on August 11, 2005 11:03:
i think they are great lyrics. i’m not a huge fan of the rolling stones though...i’m a bit young
