WILL WE GET A NEW ROX SONG FOR THE 20. BIRTHDAY?

we all know: next year roxette will have their 20th anniversary...
propably per hide some information and “his” new album is in fact a new roxette album (yeah, i know, i’m just dreamin ;)
but:
i am really hoping for a ROXETTE song on per’s new album. wouldn’t it be a good idea on the one hand to satisfy us, the fans, with a song-present and on the other hand to have a first single and get international response?
so if his new album will be a mix between swedish, english, french and instrumental, a powerful rox song with marie on the lead vocals would fit perfectly in t/his concept in my opinion.
what do you think? what are the prospects? do you have similar (of course: accomplishable) wishes?

I doubt it.... if Per’s planned album is for Winter or Spring along with a tour.... ;)

But this same thing happened after Balladas En Espanol - the following year the King has realesed his solo-album, so who knows? Now it can be other way round - first - solo album, next - RoxAlbum :] Wishful thinking? I hope it’s not :]

Maybe not in 2006 but in 2007 for sure :D

My best guess is that Roxette will not disappoint such a strong and devoted fan base... I expect to see a full album for the 20th anniversary. Per & the boys did it for GT (granted, it was the 25th) and that band was deader than Roxette. Per and Marie know that we’ve been counting down to the 20th for a couple of years now. I’m sure they would like to celebrate the milestone as well - they have a lot to be grateful for lately!
And I’m sure it will be worth the wait...

I don’t think Per works fast enough to be able to push 2 albums out in 1 year!! Unless they’re recording in secret at the moment.....

I’m not holding my breath for an “anniversary album”, either! I mean, it used to take them about a year or more to record the songs, have them mixed and mastered, decide upon a cover plus an eventual photo/video shoot and so on, right? So Per pretty much would have to finish the recordings for his solo album rightaway, release it ASAP, go back to the studio the minute it’s released and the Roxette album might be ready in time for next Christmas! And I’m sorry, but I really can’t see that happening...

I agree with Starrox. I don’t think that we’ll get a new Roxette-album. Just a single without any album in the background would be possible but that’s also quite unlikely if you ask me!

I dont see the point if they dont have the time and energy to devote to the project. If Pers album does come out in the spring, he would probably tour in the summer....theres not going to be the time to produce something worthwhile.

@joyrider I don’t think it’s a good idea to include possible new Roxette’s single on new Per’s album. Roxette is Roxette and Per’s solo is Per’s solo.

you are right but “i’ll be alright” was also a roxette song on a solo album (at least for me =)
yeah, maybe it’s not that good to include a new roxette song on per’s upcoming solo album BUT they could record a new roxette song for free download... i think this would gain a lot of publicity too (especially when radio staions do promote this download as well).
what do you think?

Nah....cant have a Rox song in a Per album... that would be like celebrating someones birthday without the birthday person!
I think Roxette will wait till it hits 25 and not 20... bad timing for a 20th bday “sale-bration” :)

I think we will indeed get an album next year.
Per’s solo album will come out later this year, but after that there is time enough left for Roxette to record songs.
My guess is that Per (and maybe Marie as well) have been writing songs for Roxette the last 2 years.
So the material is there, all it needs is recording.
