Baladas en Español should be more successful in the not-Spanish world. Places where people don’t understand the HORRIBLE lyrics, LOL!
Like I said before, some are listenable. Some are bad and don’t have anything to do with the original lyrics. It’s the most hated album among us - the Spanish-spoken fans

I have the Baladas En Espanol Album, just because it is Roxette who performs the songs.
But to be honest, I don’t play it that much, since I like the English versions better.
That the lyrics are not okay, does not really matter to me, since my spanish is limited to Hola! and Si!

I have it too, don‘t know how well it sell here, maybe some spanish learning class (like the ones I took in high school) buy a copy to translate it or two learn some expression. I bought it simply because it was Roxette and I made a point of having all their cd‘s, but I thought it sound great maybe they could try in other languages like french or chinese, why not?

I’m don’t blame Per nor Marie for that album. I can say I’m proud to have a Roxette album sung in my own language. The problem is about the translator, Luis Gómez Escolar. Some songs, like ’Un día sin tí’ (it was a big hit here, they play it very often on the radio), ’Habla el corazón’ or ’No sé si es amor’ are quite listenable, not that bad. But some have nothing to do with the original meaning of the songs. I will translate the titles into English:
1. Un día sin tí - A day without you
2. Crash! Boom! Bang!
3. Directamente a tí - Directly to you
4. No sé si es amor - I don’t know if it’s love
5. Cuanto lo siento - I’m very sorry
6. Tímida - Shy
7. Habla el corazón - Heart is talking
8. Como la lluvia en el cristal - Like rain water on the glass (of the window)
9. Soy una mujer - I am a woman
10. Quiero ser como tú - I wanna be like you
11. Una reina va detrás de un rey - A queen is following a king (or goes behind a king)
12. El día del amor - Love’s day
The worst translation is the one of “I don’t want to get hurt” (track 10). No need to explain why...

Here’s a wild thing.
I brought up Baladas because I subscribe to the free version of ComcastRhapsody (I’d have to pay to download the songs from there). Every now and again, on the Radio Stations I mixed (Kinda like “pick the artist” and away you go) plus on the 80s station, it plays songs from Baladas.
The songs I’ve heard are:
Directamente A Ti
Un Dia Sin Ti
Crash!Boom!Bang!
So, I thought I’d ask.
