"Cinnamon Street" Versions

What version of “Cinnamon Street” do you prefer (if you already heard both): the version that Per sings (Tourism version) or the version that Marie sings (“2 Cinnamon Street”) that was made for “Super Mario Bros.” picture?
My choice is “2 Cinnamon Street”...

I like the tourism version best! that great Per sound, same as in keep my waitying...

The guitars are sharper and better on marie’s, but the backing vocals aren’t very appealing.
The chorus on the tourism version is just fantstic, with a real impact that isn’t there in the ’2’ version, and Per’s voice is more suited to ’wo-oh’ vocals than Maries.

cinamon street is the best song on the tourism album and in my opinion it is much better than 2 cinamon street

I love both versions! Wouldn’t it be nice to have a Marie version and a Per version of lots more songs? I love the contrasting versions of Run To You and its demo: wonderful :-) All the best, Rich

@AURYTE
Actually, I read in some place I can’t remember that “2 Cinnamon Street” was made to the soundtrack of that picture. I didn’t watch that picture, since I’m not a crazy-fan enough to watch that kind of crappy picture...
@Rich-UK
I totally agree with you. Specially because I listened to Per singing the “Crash! Boom! Bang!” demo...

Well, I was once in a record store where they had a big sale, and there I found this soundtrack CD for a really laughable price, so I took it home (it looked so awfully lonely in that shelf...). Except for the two Rox tracks, the Queen one and the Divinyls one, it is not my cup of tea. And I did, in a rainy Sunday afternoon or such, watch that movie on TV. Oh I wish SO they had used Almost Unreal for the soundtrack of the Bette Middler movie, which is so much better... And I really don’t recall ever hearing 2 Cinnamon Street on the movie! Go figure why it was on the CD...

Both are great!
@Rich Agree with you. That’s because of these contrasts I like to listen to the demos.

Hey, what about “3 Cinnamon Street” ? That’s great with a long duration.

WHAT?! There’s a #3?! :O
As a whole, Cinnamon Street was never my favourite song on Tourism. I quite enjoy it when I get into it, but that’s not very often. But, I remember being particularly impressed by Marie’s vocals in her version... so maybe I go for 2 Cinnamon Street. :)

i’ve got a copy of 3 Cinnamon Street, but it’s fan mix using a mix of both versions. Not really that amazing.

I just adore 2 Cinammon Street. There’s a real under-stated quality to Marie’s vocals....fantastic, sedate delivery. It gets a lot of plays on my ipod now. Never really liked Per’s version (sorry Per!)

Hello! :)
I also prefer the soundtrack version of Cinnamon Street, though I usually like Per’s voice best. Somehow the version on Tourism sounds... I dunno... “outdated”... at least to my ears :P
